This book is the prequel to a series and the first book in said series to release. This book is a great set up to the series and I truly hope the series is as good because I'm invested now I need to know what happens now.

Anyways, this book follows Darius and Harmony. They have been best friends and in love with each other for as long as they can remember. But when the government comes up with a chip that will help people live longer lives a bunch of people get said chip. However the chip physically changes their DNA and people become shifters, vampires and witches. This puts a rift between Darius and Harmony because the groups don't intermingle so well and they aren't the same anymore. Can they fight to make things right again? Can the two of them survive together? These are things that I hope get answered through the series.

This was my first book by Lexi and I absolutely loved it. She has created a world of chaos that I can't wait to dive further into. While this is just a short story the character and plot development were both amazingly done. It flowed well and the pacing was great. I absolutely enjoyed every second of this book and look forward to reading the next book! TheSugaredBookworm424 9

Great prequel to a fascinating world! Usually prequels are quick and vague, but this one had all the details! It thrusts you into a dystopian world, full of shifters, vampires and human on the brink of a war. The main characters, Harmony and Darius, have been best friends since before the world changed. They are well developed characters and you instantly ship them. I was immediately sucked into this world and loved these characters. I want more, yesterday!! I can't wait to see what happens next!! I was sucked into this prequel from the first page. The characters are well-written and the world building is spot on. I want more depth in this world. Why did humans make the choices they did; vaccine or no?
What’s next for the characters and how will they change and grow within this chaotic world that is also trying to change? I look forward to seeing where this world takes us! Great start!.

Good prequel, I will definitely be reading the series following this book.

Overall cute story, good writing.

Harmony and Darius story is such a good set up of the world for future books. I love the idea of books with multiple shifters and how that all comes together.

The story seemed quite rushed, especially with the relationship dynamics. The world seems interesting and would be better served in a full length novel to really set the scene. The politics between the different races could've been better explained.
