Don't get me wrong. I can really enjoy the more complicated plots, the layered and grey characters, stories with hidden messages and puzzle pieces you eventually have to click. But sometimes I just want a nice, heartwarming, cute story. A story a blanket, protecting me from the harsh and evil world. I'm therefore happy that BookSprout gave me the chance to grab this arc.

This book was exactly what I had expected it to be. The story was cute. The story was heartwarming. The story was about the kind of love everyone should want to have in their lives. Yes, because of the mate connection there is some insta love, but I how the characters still take the time to talk, to get to know each other a little.

I also quite d the reason those two unique characters met. The book wasn't exactly a mystery, therefore the characters didn't spend enough time searching and questioning. But the focus wasn't supposed to be on the mystery. The mystery was simply a way to get these characters together, to have them meet each other.

The mythology in this book is quite cool. Of course, our Hummingbird is a unique shifter, but still a shifter, but it's our dryad making this story special. I quite d the connection he had to his plant, how harming his plant, meant harming him and what the consequences were of that. Jenna Sunangle, a PI from the Paranormal Council, is assigned to find out who is stealing from the Dryads at the local greenhouse. Baxter Heirloom has been dealing with someone stealing his tomatoes from his tree and now fate has brought him his true mate to work the case.

This is another cozy story by Laura for the Paranormal Council series and it did not fail. It gives you the little afternoon read you are looking for after a long day at work. These 2 characters work together to get to the bottom of the thefts at the greenhouse while trying to come to terms they are meant to be mates. Its a simple boy meets girl, both fall for each other and live happy ever after. The plot was a decent story line and moved quite quickly without any dull points.

Another short, cute story in 'The Paranormal Council' world. Jenna and Baxter meet when she is sent by the Paranormal Council to investigate who is stealing from the dryads and the greenhouse. She meets Baxter and feels an unusual connection to him. Baxter knows she is his fated mate and gets closer to her as they work together to try and solve the issue. This was a short, entertaining paranormal story that left me feeling happy and in a good mood. Laura's stories always do that for me. Can't wait to read her next story!

Jenna has been sent to a greenhouse to find out who is damaging and/or stealing from the dryads' tether-plants. These plants are important to the individual dryads and so far no one has figured out who is coming in after hours and tampering with them. Baxter has once again found his tomato plant with all the fruit cut off them. It wasn't even just the ripe tomatoes that were gone. His boss has not been at all helpful in finding the culprit but insists that an investigator working for the High Council will be coming to investigate. When Jenna arrives and shakes his hand, Baxter forgets all about his tomatoes. Mate.

I did not see Cupid flitting anywhere in this novella but his influence was obvious. Our heroes' sudden meeting and mating is quite the distraction from Baxter's and Jenna's professions, but they still manage to get the job done during their courtship (even accidentally). This was a sweet romance that tells me that it is possible to have an engrossing career and still have time for love with a little planning and compromise. This is a gentle, fun read, with just enough sweetness as well as tartness to appeal, and it was just right to give me a lift when I needed it.

This is a really fun, sweet and sexy psychic date-mate romance with enough mystery to keep it interesting. I have really enjoyed it! It was a fast paced and flowing beautifully written story. The turn of events was beautifully done, and the ending was great!
It's about Baxter having a theft problem at work and Jenna going to investigate. A quick, fun read in which the two main characters discover they are Mates and must together solve the mystery of the theft. I loved it and am happy to recommend this book.

A very quick story so sweet and endearing. Jenna swoops in when she realizes just who and what Baxter is to her! Baxter is slow to react but that is his character, a thinker. Once they get together though swoosh goes that flame!!! Love and they catch the plant thief.... a jealous co-worker. Again it's a short, sweet, fast paced story great for a weekend read or a long chilly afternoon swaddled in blankets and a nice cup of coffee/tea or cocoa!!!

This was a quick read. Jenna gets called in to catch a thief who is cutting up plants and stealing produce from the dryads. Jenna finds her mate and between them they try to catch the thief. This plot is about prejudice between species.
