I enjoyed this book more than the first one. The stakes seemed higher and Orenda's mission more time-sensitive and with deadlier consequences, which made for a more thrilling plot. Also, I loved the thieving twins; they're my favourite characters from this series so far. The world, magic and creatures kept on being very interesting and original. This is book 2, I have not read the first book, but this one was amazing. I definitely recommend. This is one of those books that you can't put down, but don't want to finish. You will lose sleep over this book. Oh and be prepared to fret, laugh, and cry with the characters. Mandy 'Hammie'177 4

I really enjoyed this book. The characters and storyline were amazing, keeping me engrossed from the very first page. The book is well written and although it is a first from this author I would definitely recommend this book and author to anyone who loves adventure. Eckerbee45

At the start I read without a compass because there is a book number one?
