I loved this book and once I started I couldn't stop. It is slightly different to the previous books in this great series, in the fact that Scarlett wasn't actually working but who let's fun (or work) get in the way of solving several mysteries. There is so much going on and I really enjoyed the fact that it was never quite what you thought, making it an entertaining listen. The plot having everybody stuck together on the boat meant I had no clue who the killer was, as I didn't really want any of them to be involved, let's just say there was a few surprises. I really the characters and I would say they are the reason I keep returning to the series but to be honest I just the story this talented author weaves . I can't wait for the next book.
When her new friends decided to go on holiday, a holiday she can't really afford, Scarlett offers to pay her way by taking care of all the food prep and cooking. Staying on a houseboat means the only worry should be not getting sun burnt and which computer game to play, instead things keep going missing and a stranger arrives in the middle of the night asking for help. Out of range of a cell tower the friends agree to help but Scarlett becomes suspicious of there new friend when even more things to missing. Then they discover a dead body and with nobody else around Scarlett is worried one of her friends is involved when it turns out they all knew him. Can she solve mysteries and more importantly find a killer before anybody else gets hurt?
I the narrator. She does a good job of bringing the characters to life and gives by them there own voice.

Scarlett was finally able to go on a trip for fun, well not quite that case because she'd accepted the trip as payment for her meal organizing services on the houseboat. But she did know about half the people on the boat. I was glad to see Hannah return from the last book and it seems she and Scarlett became pretty good friends. Too bad Scamp didn't come with her. I bet he could've sniffed out the killer pretty fast!

I was so sure of someone as the whodunit but still kinda suspected someone else of being on the sidelines or in cahoots if that makes sense. Being along on one of Scarlett's temp jobs is never boring! I can't wait to borrow and read the next one! 2023-ku Holly1,215
