Sinopsis

The world moves toward normal, but Marcia's life is rarely "normal"...

Newly vaccinated, Marcia Banks can finally schedule the human phase of training with her Air Force pilot client—the soon-to-be owner of a Chow-Husky service dog named Bear. But when she calls to set things up, she's informed that the veteran has been in a private psychiatric hospital for months, with no one allowed to visit due to Covid.

Marcia puts out feelers to find out what is going on, and suddenly he is discharged...only to have his private plane crash in a fiery ball two days later. Convinced this is no coincidence, Marcia attempts to find out how her veteran client became the target of a murderer.

What she uncovers looks suspiciously like a scheme to defraud the Veterans' Administration. But who's behind it, and did they sabotaged her client's plane? Or did the saboteur have a more personal motive?

And just how determined are they to silence Marcia?

(Note: This story occurs during the end of the Covid pandemic, but it focuses on the optimism and relief of the spring of 2021 in the U.S.)

It always feels coming home to visit these characters and Buddy. The mystery is excellent. Marcia gets involved in what she thinks is a scheme to defraud the Veteran's Administration. I really d the 'good feelings' that Marcia is enjoying after she gets her second Covid 19 vaccine shot. While this book is about the mystery, Marcia's return to normalcy and training service dogs, I always love the looks at the challenges some veterans and other survivors deal with in their recoveries. I highly recommend this series and book.

Another great story - with all the usual characters, plus some new ones. I can always depend on lots of excitement and twists and turns - and this one didn't disappoint. Even COVID-19 was woven into the story. I look forward to the next book. I'm only sorry I didn't get to reading this book earlier; I had it but didn't read it until just now. Please keep them coming, Ms. Lamb!1 Andrea Stoeckel2,751 115

"You go with the information you have about the person at the time and then trust your instincts."

In this new book in the Marcia Banks and Buddy series, Marcia is still trying to self isolate while she waits for the 2 weeks past vaccination to pass. Working with service dogs and PTSD clients can't be easy in non pandemic time, but Marcia and her trainee Carla are doing the best they can as they get Bear, a Chow Chow mix, read for client Russ.

However, there's a glitch as Russ is hospitalized for depression and when released gets wrapped up in a murder investigation that brings Marcia into the fray. Can she investigate fast enough to clear Russ and save her own skin? You just gave to read and find out!

I have to hand it to Kassandra Lamb to deal with real "entanglements" Covid-19 rather than writing "around" them. The issues Marcia deals with psychically are real. Lamb's spin is just as delightful here as in any other of the series. Highly Recommended 5/5

Fun, cute book about a lady named Marcia who trains service dogs. I read the whole thing but was really put off by continuing references to the voice in her head she has named Ms Snark. Ugh. She also thinks about other voices in her head which is too close to being mentally ill for me to laugh at.
Her husband is a good guy and a good cop, but I sense there are problems ahead for them. She has issues. She's been in counseling for a long time so she has a good chance to overcome them.
Solving the crime was interesting. There are lots of suspects. There are too many characters in my opinion.
I'd to read another book by this author but not in this series. I don't want any more Ms Snark.

Marcia is dealing with the Covid lock-down problems and still trying to get Bear, a service dog, to her rightful owner.
She finds the owner, Russell Forthan is in a hospital. As she looks into this, she is wondering if this hospital isn't defrauding the government, especially when it comes to veterans. Later Russell is released only to be accused of killing another person. Things get rather tense as there are people out there trying to stop Marcia and frame Russell. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.have-read Sandy707 10

This is such a wonderful series! Marcia has trained a service dog for a veteran, only to discover he’s been in a psychiatric hospital for months. As she looks into things, danger and corruption surface. This book has an extremely twisty plot with interesting characters and fine storytelling. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next one. I received this book free and chose to make a voluntary, unbiased review. Dwayne Keller821 10

visiting old friends, this is another fun mystery. Marcia and Buddy are on the trail of somebody who sabotaged a veteran's plane. Join in as they piece together the possible suspects and motives and narrow it down. Visit with the regular gang of people from the small town while they deal with covid, social distancing, and solving the mystery. Enjoy this cozy mystery. Pernette771 14

One Flew Over The Chow Chow's Nest is the latest book by Kassandra Lamb in the Marcia Banks and Buddy Mysteries. Buddy and Marcia stumble upon fraud at a mental health facility where one of her clients is being treated. Great storytelling, great characters, and a good mystery. I recommend this book. Another good read

Lovely characters, human and animal. Nice, complicated mystery with intriguing clues. Really nice series with a satisfying conclusion. Sounds there may only be two left before the series ends, but I'm hopeful there will be more. Marie Connolly116 3

I loved this new mystery. Will plays a bigger part this time. The dogs are smart as usual. I don't recommend starting this at bedtime unless you want to stay up late. Jennifer97
