Socialite Quinn Appleton knows how to live life—at full speed and with no limits. She has the perfect life, an amazing boyfriend, friends by the bucketload and an eye for fashion. Life is good.

The Appletons are a household name, their eponymous biscuit empire having been in the family for over one hundred and fifty years, making them one of the country's richest families. They are no strangers to controversy either, constantly gracing the covers of gossip magazines, caught in compromising positions at outrageous parties.

But CEO and matriarch Lady Elizabeth Appleton has had enough. Tired of her children and grandchildren not pulling their weight and dragging the once respectable Appleton name through the mud, she decides to cut them all off financially.

With her life in ruins, Quinn is just one Jimmy Choo heel away from living in a cardboard box when Gran gives her an ultimatum: take a job at the company for six months and her trust fund will be...

This is such a great story, I loved meeting poor rich girl and socialite Quinn Appleton, who has her world torn apart in so many ways on that terrible Christmas Day by matriarch of the Appleton family and her grandmother, her life was perfect boyfriend, lots of friends beautiful clothes and a fantastic car, but was it really perfect?

The Appleton’s have been operating one of the largest biscuit empires for over one hundred years and Lady Elizabeth Appleton is running it all supposedly with the help of her family, three children and three grandchildren who aren’t pulling their weight and when one scandal after another hits the media Lady Elizabeth is determined to change things and makes a huge announcement on Christmas Day that will change everything, she has cut off their money and taken back their cars things are going to change.

Quinn is left with nothing no job, her Ferrari is gone and soon the roof over her head as well, she has boxes of designer clothes and shoes but that is it, when Gran gives her an ultimatum, a requirement to re-instate the trust fund, that is to work at the factory for six months but not as Quinn she must become Amy Sinclair and she must not tell anyone who she is. Quinn is determined to prove that she can do this, she wants her car, her lifestyle and her money back.

Quinn soon finds out that working in the factory and getting to know her workmates is a lot different to what she expected and is soon feeling good about it all although she is dreadfully worried about her father and Gran is giving nothing away on that front, the room she is renting in a rundown house is nothing she is used to but soon her flat mate Scott is becoming a friend and helping her and listening to her about certain things without giving anything away.

This book has so many emotions running through it, Quinn has a lot to learn and really surprised me how she came through and how strong she really is, there is a lot going on in this story it is fast paced and will keep you turning the pages, it is a romance, some suspense, contemporary and an all-round fabulous story one that I would highly recommend. So many fabulous characters in this one that added to the story, I really enjoyed seeing Quinn realise that life as a socialite is not the best life and she can make a difference. Don’t miss this one.

Accidentally Working Class was a delightful, funny rom com with a sprinkle of suspense.

Quinn Appleton finds herself into her kind of hell when her grandmother cuts her and her family funds, she loses her boyfriend, friend and apartment in the blink of an eye.
She accepts to work for the family's company in order to reclaim her trust fund, but Quinn will soon figure out that it won't be so simple.

I d Quinn, maybe not at the beginning when she was entitled but I completely re-evaluated seeing her work hard and fight for her colleagues.

It was the first time I've read a Karly Lane book and I've really enjoyed this story. The writing, the storyline and the charaters were captivating and enterteining.
I adored the movie feels I got reading this novel. Highly recommended.

I've never read anything by Lane in the past, but I'll be looking up her future books. This was a quick, fun read--one that is a great beach read option. I enjoyed connecting with Quinn/Amy and watching her grow throughout the story. She is an easy character to root for. It's a great reminder of how you should not be too quick to judge someone, as most people are more than you may realize at first glance. Quinn is a strong character, and the supporting characters are equally enjoyable. There is a bit of everything in this book, from rom-com to suspense.

If you enjoy books such as Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series, this is a book to add to your TBR pile.

Thank you Karly for sending us a copy to read and review.
In the grand tradition of Sophie Kinsella and Jessica Dettmann, Karly Lane has branched out into the world of hilarious contemporary modern fiction and with a five star book, this could very well be a new genre addition and addiction to her already wonderful catalogue of rural romance stories.
When anyone thinks Appleton’s they think the biscuit empire.
For generations the wealthy family have been making the famous sweet treat but members of this clan grace the society pages for all the wrong reasons.
When matriarch Lady Elizabeth announces she is cutting all of them off financially, chaos erupts.
Quinn Appleton is totally shocked, devastated and thinking how can she afford her next pair of expensive high heels.
Now her life is in an utter mess, she is given an ultimatum.
Take a job in the factory in the company and keep out of trouble.
But there’s a catch, no one can know who she is and must keep out of the gossip magazines and then she will get her inheritance back.
Now she is someone else with a new name and new identity.
Quinn thinks it’s a piece of cake but life has other ideas.
This is such a fun, campy, entertaining and amusing story.
Karly needs to write more books in this genre because clearly she has a talent for it.
Quinn is a character who begins life as a spoilt brat and through adventures, wise words, life lessons learnt and other self changing affirmations becomes a better person.
With a splash of romance, a cast of misfits and plenty of drama, all incorporated into a splendid storyline that will set off all the reading senses.
Many readers will be pleased and thankful that Karly decided to self publish this tale as it may have ended up at the bottom of the pile discarded but we can all cheer as I can highly recommend you get your hands on a copy.
I can feel a sequel……..

As a huge fan of Karly Lane's rural fiction, I was very excited at the news of her first foray into contemporary fiction! Accidentally Working Class is such a fun and relevant read!

Socialite Quinn Appleton is used to having everything served to her on a silver platter. She's not only one of the heiresses to the family business (a biscuit company no less- how Aussie!), Quinn's also pretty self centred as well. There's no doubt that Princess Quinn needs one heck of a reality check!

It's Christmas when we meet the Appleton family, headed by matriarch Grandma Elizabeth. Fed up with her family's lack of work ethics, she quite ruins the celebrations by cutting everyone off!

If Quinn thought that this horrid news was the least of her issues, she's in for one ruder shock! In order to reinstate her trust fund, she needs to work for the family business! Naive Quinn thinks that she will be working at the top of the chain... But is placed on the factory floor instead!

So that no-one can ever find out who she is, Quinn Appleton becomes Amy Sinclair. This change of identity is EVERYTHING Quinn needed to become a better person. It's wonderful to see the positive changes Quinn makes to her life over the course of the book!

Of course it wouldn't be a Karly Lane novel without a romantic interest! We are treated to not just one, but two suitors for Quinn/Amy! Our knights in shining armour are Hugo- multi millionaire surf business entrepreneur and Scott- Quinn's flatmate who's quite irritating at first but manages to win everyone over in the end! Poor Quinn is attracted to both men- but who's the better choice for her in the long run? It's impossible to align myself to just one team!

Just LOVE and appreciate that the setting was my home area of the Gold Coast, and recognised quite a few locations that I once frequented!! It's true about Millionaires Row- Hedges Ave in Mermaid Beach is a real place and the homes are STUNNING! Thanks Karly for bringing me home temporarily with this gorgeous book!
