This is book two in the 'Vargas Ranch' series. I was looking forward to hear what was going to be happening at Vargas Ranch after reading book one 'Falling For A Real Cowboy.' We get to meet another Vargas brother, Dylan is the shy brother of the family. Dylan, along with his best friend Adan work on the family ranch. Dylan has always d Adan's sister Brisa, she was his childhood crush, so after Adan signed him up on a dating app he was surprise to see Brisa on it. Brisa had just moved back home with her four-year-old son who is disabled. She has started working on the ranch as a therapist. which means Dylan gets to see her more. What will Dylan do when he's sent to Brisa for help with his stuttering? I have enjoyed listening to this series up to now. The narrator is clear and easy to understand2 s Helen1,083

Falling for a Shy Cowboy is book 2 in Karen Baney's Vargas Ranch series. This series focuses on the Vargas brothers, in this one we meet Dylan. Dylan's best friend, Adan, works at the ranch and now his sister, Brisa, has joined the staff as a therapist. Dylan has been referred to her for treatment of his stuttering. Meanwhile, Adan makes an account for him on a dating site. Dylan and Brisa start an anonymous communication through the site.

This is an enjoyable story to read. The writing is clear and easy to read. I enjoy reading about the Vargas family and the ranch they have that helps their clients in multiple ways. I appreciate how protective Brisa is about her son and how quickly Dylan is to want to help him. I also appreciate the feelings Brisa has for both her anonymous friend from the dating site and for Dylan. I enjoy how helpful the Vargas family and the ranch employees are to help out Brisa for the sake of her son.

I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review.1 Judy1,545 8

Dylan and Brisa

Dylan was almost saintly compared to men his age these days! He’d never kissed a woman, let alone date.

Brisa lived with her boyfriend for several years, but only a few months in, the relationship changed drastically. Thankfully, she and her young son found sanctuary at Vargas Ranch.

I wanted to give this five stars, but I couldn’t understand how a 31 year old man had to hide the fact that he loved his best friends sister. Adan warned Dylan back in high school that Brisa was off limits, but that was because she was a sophomore and Dylan a senior. That situation was just a tad too prevalent throughout too much of this story.

Other than that, it was a very good read.1 Tami Willard798 3

TRIGGER WARNING: Discussions of domestic abuse and trauma to a young child.

Brisa is the little sister to Dillon's best friend. He has had feelings for her since school, but couldn't talk to her back then. He has always had trouble talking to females and in groups. When she comes back to town with a disabled son does he have a second chance? Will her brother approve? What will it take to get him to be able to talk to her about his feelings? Is she ready to try again?

Let me tell you a little about “Falling for a Shy Cowboy,” the second book in Karen Baney’s Vargas Ranch series.

First, meet Dylan Vargas, a shy cowboy trying to navigate life on his family’s ranch near Wickenburg, Arizona. Then there’s Brisa Franco, a single mom who’s returned home with her son, Braden, after overcoming some of life’s harshest circumstances.

The story takes a fun turn when Dylan’s best friend, Adan, signs him up for online dating. And guess whose profile catches Dylan’s eye? It’s Brisa—Adan’s sister and Dylan’s childhood crush. Talk about a love triangle!

But there’s more to this story than just romance. Brisa is dealing with her own demons after escaping an abusive relationship with Braden’s father, and she finds herself wrestling with trust and fear issues. Dylan has spent his life dealing with a speech impediment that has made him a man only comfortable with his horses.

Baney does a great job of bringing the ranch to life; her characters always seem natural and personable.
While this book can be read as a standalone, knowing more of the backstory adds extra depth to the story.

Even if you’re not usually into Christian romance, Baney’s storytelling will draw you in. It’s not just a love story; it’s a journey of healing and hope.

So, if you’re looking for a book that will tug at your heartstrings and leave you with a smile, give “Falling for a Shy Cowboy” a read. It’s a story you won’t want to miss!

My favorite of the three novels from Vargas Ranch series. Who doesn’t a little “You’ve go Mail” in a romance. I had never seen it in cowboy book and it was good! Once again full of unique characters in unusual circumstances, Author Karen Baney ropes you into a sweet clean romance.

As I struggle with a bit of stuttering and a lisp that thickens when I get nervous, I totally felt for shy Dylan and understand how much easier it is to write versus talk. As he struggles especially in front of women and in particular with his life long love, I found myself rooting for him as he overcame his obstacles and won the single mom over with his thoughtfulness, because actions do speak louder than words.

Brisa is a great character who is falling for the cowboy on her dating app, as well as for the cowboy she is helping with his speech, not knowing they are the same person, all while trying to settle back into her hometown and making her son a priority. She has trust issues due to her ex abuse. While it does not elaborate too much, she does have a couple flashbacks with a few detailed scenes that might be a trigger for anyone trying to avoid abusive books. But more than anything it’s about having a clean start.
Both characters have great careers, but their personal lives are off balance until they find each other.1 Leanne1,603 22

Brisa is the little sister of Dylan's best friend Adan but she has always been off limits even though Dylan has had a crush on her since high school. When Brisa returns home with her disabled son will they finally reunite as more than friends or will life's obstacles prove to be too much? This book touched my soul as it has a few of the tough times we may face in life from a speech impediment, a disabled young boy in a wheelchair and domestic abuse. I love life with the Vargas on the Ranch it is somewhere I can picture myself living comfortably and they provide a variety of activities and are a competent bunch. There is a little suspense in this book and it had me holding my breath. The romance is clean and oh so sweet that it left me swooning. I am excited to get reading the next book in the series to discover more about another Vargas brother.1 Amy5,802

After reading the first book from Karen Baney's Vargas Ranch series, I wanted to have the opportunity to read the second addition,
Falling for a Shy Cowboy. It was great travelling back to the Arizona Ranch and catching up with the characters and getting to know Dylan and Brisa. I loved the scenes with them interacting with one another. I thought they had great chemistry. Their story was one of love, forgiveness, and letting go of the past.

I had the opportunity to listen to the audio version of Falling for a Shy Cowboy. The narration was done in variety of voices, making it unique and different from most audiobooks I have listened to. I thought it was a nice touch and an interesting performance. I did not want to stop it until the last word was read.

I am giving Falling for a Shy Cowboy four and a half stars. I believe readers who enjoy reading clean romance will it as much as me, if not more. I will be on the look out for the third installment from the Vargas Ranch series, Falling for a Bossy Cowboy, to see what else Karen Baney has in store for her fans and characters. This one is definitely worth reading and not to be missed.

I received a audio version of Karen Baney's Falling for a Shy Cowboy from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.1 Jen622 5
