I received an ARC copy of this book, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

An Artist's Dream is based in Greece, where Kaia lives with her family and her best friend, Evah. When an intriguing man enters their villa, Kaias' world is turned upside down. Kaia & Maverick face many struggles, but they face them together. This book ends on a cliffhanger, and I am patiently awaiting the sequel!

Hi friends! Before jumping into this spoiler free review, I just want to mention a quick disclaimer. This was my first time reading & reviewing a “fluffy” romance, and my shelves and reading history has been heavy fantasy at the moment. I’ve done my best to try and separate the genres and try not to compare, but for anyone who primarily reads fantasy, I want to also give my perspective.

Okay, let’s start with writing! This is the part I was referring to with comparisons. I am used to very detailed, dragged on descriptions, and this is something that isn’t prominent in this novella. The concept, plot, characters all had great bases and I think Kacey has done a great job incorporating many different elements to support a good story line with great potential. For me personally, I feel I was left needing more detail and more context with certain topics & transitions. That said, I still feel we get a nice quick read that is easy to get through and is a good break from any heavy reading some of us readers might be used to.

Character dynamics are super important for me in any story I read. I think these characters Kacey has created and light and fun, there’s banter that appeal to most and their personalities do jump off the page at you.

All in all, this was a nice quick read that did leave me wanting more! I’m excited to see what happens next in the series!
