Considering this is a MG book, there is a lot of topics packed into it that are heavy...I preordered it right when I found out one of the characters has ehlers danlos. I've never ever ever seen EDs represented. Huge thank you to the author for giving those with EDs a voice in these pages. That was a big plus for me. My grade school kids tend to read MG books, but I'm not sure I would have this out for them just yet. Middle school is a much more appropriate age group to handle the subjects. Even then I would make sure that kid's know that conversations are totally open if there are questions or concerns when reading. HSPs may have a harder time. Maybe even reading it with your kids would be a good idea. Kids have to go through so much. It's heartbreaking. This book presented so many different topics beautifully. The representation is A+.
