Joss delivers again, I always love this authors M&B/Hqn offerings, and add in a spurned billionaire bent on revenge and I knew I was in for a good read.

Nothing better than an A55h0le hero, then trying to redeem himself when he realizes that all was not what it seemed when the heroine initially dumped him at the altar when they originally planned to marry all those years before. Add in a little bribery and smoking hot chemistry and you are left fully satisfied by the end of the book!

Is revenge the be-all and end-all for Jens?
I can understand JenÂ’s need for revenge against MajaÂ’s father who made his business life hell after Maja left him brutally before their quiet civil ceremony. Yet as his revenge is within his grasp, he fails to receive his satisfaction. Enter his new plan to do to Maja what she did to him ten years before if he could only find her. A chance encounter at an art show leads to the startling reveal that Maja is still the only woman who gets his blood flowing. While Maja knows of Jens and her fatherÂ’s games over the ten years, she never knew what was the catalyst. Will Jens be able to let the past go and become the Jens that Maja fell in love with? You have to read to find out and will be rooting for their happily ever after!1 Brenda Moser8,605 112

This is a well written book with strong characters in Jens and Maja. The author does a great job developing the story and painting her scenes. She takes you into their lives with revenge, a second chance romance and love. She moves the story fluidly and delivers an enjoyable read.

This is the story of 2 Norwegians, hero Jens (billionaire sailing businessman) and Maja (a photographer living in Edinburgh and daughter of evil and now dead billionaire who is the catalyst for much of the story). This is a story of re-united lovers (after 10 years) and is set in Norway – mostly Bergen. Maja’s father drives the story as he broke the couple up on the eve of their wedding and caused Maja to flee his domineering and cold ways and establish her life as an artist in Edinburgh. Jens’ does not know that her father caused the break-up, but his story arc is also driven by Maja’s father as he tried to destroy Jens’ small family trawler business. Accordingly the last 10 years of Jens’ life has been driven by revenge as he has built is business empire in retaliation and as the book opens is just about to take over Maja’s father’s business, but is prevented from doing do by the father’s death. Jens then re-directs his revenge tactics at Maja via the trope of a false wedding.

The revenge aspect was big turn-off for me, as a trope it seems hackneyed and out of date and, crucially it made the character of Jens a little one dimensional. Usually this author’s characters are modern, fresh, emotionally mature and I felt Maja’s character was all of those things, but not that of Jens. I am also not enthused by the false wedding storyline – again it seems out of date. These issues dented my rating of this book, despite my fondness for this author’s writing and despite many other elements working for me.

Those elements included that there is some modern emotional depth displayed, particularly by Maja and there is much to connect with. There were some new spins put on the old tropes – just not enough to rescue them for me. There are additional emotional angst issues in the book which are dealt with well, such as Jens’ relationship with his mother. The setting in Norway was fantastic and I enjoyed the references to the design world.

If you have more tolerance than me to the revenge and false marriage narratives, this book delivers oodles of contemporary romance to enjoy. In fact, I enjoyed it, just nowhere as much as the authorÂ’s other work.

Joss Wood stirs a pot spiced with forbidden passion, red-hot intensity and steamy sensuality in her latest Harlequin Presents novel, The Tycoon's Diamond Demand.

Jens Nilsen is a self-made man consumed by vengeance. He wants to make Maja Hagen pay for jilting him at the altar last year and also ruin her ruthless father who had almost destroyed him. Jens will not rest until he's evened the score and he has put in motion the perfect revenge: demand that Maja marry him and then jilt her this time around. However, Jen hadn't counted on the flame of attraction that continues to sizzle between him and Maja.

It's been tough, but Maja has finally managed to unshackle herself from her father's tyranny. She's worked hard to build a new life for herself and nobody is going to take that away from her - until Jens comes back into her life with a proposal she simply cannot say no to.

As Jens obliterates every single defense she has built around herself, Maja finds herself in danger - of being in love with a man whose heart is firmly under lock and key.

Joss Wood's The Tycoon's Diamond Demand is the perfect Harlequin Presents novel. Packed with emotion, drama and seduction, The Tycoon's Diamond Demand is a first class category romance readers will devour in one sitting.

This is book three in The Diamond in The Rough and it is Jens and MajaÂ’s story. Maja and Jens were due to be married but the night before her father who is evil, domineering, cold, vindictive and controlling split them apart causing Maja to run and build a life away from the man that tried to manipulate her. Jens has now built his business empire after nearly being destroyed by MajaÂ’s father so now he is out to get his revenge and waiting to take over her fatherÂ’s company only for the man to die before he could complete the takeover. Ten years later and Maja and Jens meet again after the death of her father but what she doesnÂ’t know is that Jens is out for revenge for something that she didnÂ’t do so he works in the background to manipulate Maja but hopefully he will realise what he is doing is wrong before he makes the biggest mistake of his life. The attraction and chemistry between Jens and Maja is still as strong as ever but things will not be easy between them or plain sailing at all with everything that is happening and you begin to wonder what the outcome will be for them in the end. This was a enjoyable read but didnÂ’t hold my attention as much as other books by Joss Wood but I look forward to reading more in the future. Kari Hansen10.3k 85

Although the Hagen family caused Jens pain it also gave him the impetus he needed to become the successful businessman he is. Everything he has done is to fulfill his plan to get revenge against Maja, the woman he loved who left him on their wedding day, and her father who threatened his family business. The passing of MajaÂ’s father has changed his direction and now he has adjusted his plan to ensure that Maja feels the same pain that he did.

It's been a decade since Maja has seen Jens and the one thing she does know is that the feelings she has for him havenÂ’t diminished over time but what doesnÂ’t know is not everything is as it appears. She may think this is their second chance but will the past she doesnÂ’t know about break her heart for a second time?

The reunion and the past between Jens and MajaÂ’s story is one of misunderstandings and inability to share what they are feeling. They both have some choices to make if they are going to have a future together. Jess59

I could find no reason to or enjoy this book as it was boring and just unrealistic. Jens decides to blackmail Maja because her father mistreated him. Je learns her secret and uses that as the blackmail. In addition her secret wasn't even bad so there was no real reason for her to covet her secret and accept the blackmail. In addition Jens chose to spend millions of dollars to exact his revenge when she originally jilted him in the first place to save his family business. Oh and by the way her explaining why she did what she did 12 years ago could have cleared this whole thing up but alas he refused to let her explain. This was all told in the thoughts of both characters with their internal thoughts and dialogs that were just overly wordy boring. I don't get it.

This was a second chance un many IÂ’ve encountered before. Maja and Jens had such deep emotional trauma, both from what had happened between them, and from their families as well. So much of the angst this pair generated could have been cleared up much sooner if theyÂ’d stopped to listen to one anotherÂ’s truths, but the book would have been much shorter that way. There was just something about Jens that captured my imagination. I didnÂ’t find that with Maja, and it probably makes me a terrible person for actually wanting to see him get his revenge fantasy. On the other hand, I adored seeing these two work through all that baggage and find the core of their love again. No matter what had gone before, the chemistry between them was still fire.

In addition to the plot points not making any sense, the male lead was so insane about revenge that I did not suspend disbelief in the 2 year HEA.

The page blub tells you the entire plot, but the storyline points make no sense. The male lead had investigation firms after the father and heroine for years, but never learned the important facts? Why did the heroine give into the lead's blackmail, it was such a minor and silly thing? She would try to tell him facts, and he would order her to shut up and she did it?

Perhaps worst, he is actually psycho with rage and revenge within the story. I did not believe they had a happy two year anniversary with the healthy child. Someone that rage filled and into extreme revenge would ly beat the heroine into the ER for talking out of turn, or hurt the baby for crying too much.

This is the 3rd book in the 3rd book in the A Diamond in the Rough series featuring Jens and Maja's revenge driven, second chance romance. All Jens has been able to think about for the last decade is exacting his revenge against Maja the woman who jilted him at the altar and her father who tried to destroy him. After Maja ran from their elopement she finally made a life for herself away from her father's tyranny and she's not going to let Jens ruin that. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read Jens and Maja's revenge driven, second chance romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Riveting story of blackmail and revenge! Joss Wood is bringing the third installment of the A Diamond in the Rough series in The Tycoon's Diamond Demand. I haven't read the previous books in the series, so maybe that's why this one didn't hold my attention quite as much as this author usually would, but it was still a satisfying read with lots of drama.

Jensen is set on revenge, but when he learns the backstory that made Maja leave him, he starts second guessing his hatred.

Maja is strong and capable as she proved when she set out to reinvent herself. She yearns for what she lost, but she can't give up her newfound self to achieve it.

I recommend this book to anyone that loves a good revenge story with a touch of a marriage of convenience. Joyce685 8

Being a self-made Billionaire, Jens Nilson accomplished this by hard work and revenge on MajaÂ’s father who had tried to destroy Jens and his aunt; however, things didnÂ’t totally turnout he wanted it to. Years ago, he was due to elope with Maja, but she left him and fled. Reasons were to save Jens and to escape her fatherÂ’s tyranny. Jens finally found her and was planning his final revenge on Maja. He was planning to marry her and leave her at the altar. This story has betrayal and, in the end, will the trust they finally placed in each other happen.

Their fued started when Hakon's daughter jilted him and Hakon decided to punish him for daring to have an affair with his daughter. Now that Hakon up and died on him was totally unacceptable he would have his revenge by making Maja marry him after all. Loved this story.

I normally don't enjoy the powerful man vs the powerless woman stories, but the author did a really good job balancing the dynamic between Maja and Jens. The ending is really satisfying. Some of my favorite romances revolve around the theme that love has the power to change someone for the better and that's definitely the case here. The Norwegian setting was interesting, too.

Jens wants revenge after Maja abruptly broke up with him right before they married and her father used his power to try to destroy him. With her father gone he blames her for everything that happened is determined to make her feel his pain. HeÂ’s pretty ruthless at times, refusing to let tell her side of things, focused on his course of threatening ruination and humiliating her despite his changing feelings. Vicki Stephens2,897 16

He now plans an engagement which will result in her humiliation being left at the altar. Their story has drama, revenge, angst, steamy chemistry, and complicated characters. Their love was still there after all the years apart and the attraction was as well. I d that Maja was finally able to tell him why she left before and even better, Jens was able to let go of his past anger and hurt to be with her.2024-reading-challenge Mary4,823 13

I enjoyed this "Diamond in the Rough" story. This is the third story in the series but can be read as a stand alone one. The story is about Jens and Maja. Their story is nicely developed, intriguing and very captivating. They are perfect for each other. These two have a history, will they have a future? Wendy Livingstone17.4k 212

This is the third book in this series, and this is Jenson and MajaÂ’s story.
This is a well written story which had family, revenge, extortion, second chances, emotions, revelations, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining, tragic, unpredictable, and steamy addictive page turner.

Revenge served hotÂ…

Jens has been driven since Maja failed to show up for their elopement by revenge against both her and her father. ItÂ’s been years, but Maja agrees and they are offÂ…
Steamy second chance.

I've read a lot of books written by Joss Wood; she is one of my favorite authors. I canÂ’t wait to read more of her books.

This is the third book in the Diamond in the Rough Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Maja & Jens. Rhonda2,501 41

Two very diverse characters that have issues that need to be dealt with. Several twists and turns in the story. Sometimes the road to romance is not easy and this book is no exception. Good read.

Heartbreaker is too mild of a word to describe Maja and Jens. The emotion goes beyond the heart and seeps right into the soul. From the bitterness to temptation Wood puts heartache on display with haunting precision and electric results.first-reads Harlequin Books17.2k 2,762 Read
