I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion and review. Fake Dating the Winger is the first book in the Philadelphia Tyrant Hockey series. The characters intertwine but it can be read as a standalone. I didn't read book #1 but I'll be going back to check out Duke's story. I thought Hunter and Violets story was cute and I'm a sucker for a good friends to lover book, especially when Hockey players are involved.

Hunter is winger for the Philadelphia Tyrants hockey team. Violet is a computer programer, who has degrees in both computer science and finance. The two of them became friends in college. Hunter has always had feelings for Violet, but she was dating his friend Nate and he never brought it up. Once she and Nate broke up, she started to guard her heart, so Hunter was afraid to admit his feelings and scare her away.

When her ex, Nate, gets traded to the Philadelphia Tyrants, and runs into Violet she tells him that she's dating Hunter. Hunter, being perfect, agrees to go along with it. But he see's that this is finally the time to just shoot his shot. Even though Violet comes up with reasons why their relationship is doomed before it even starts.

SOME THOUGHTS WHILE READING:
?? Ughhhh... I just love it when the MMC is the one whose head over heels for the FMC before she even knows it. There's not a ton of spice in the book, but finding out the quiet, and more reserved hockey player was controlling in the bedroom, I'm here for it.
?? When Violet told her Mom that she and Hunter were dating - I almost thought her Mom was going to invite him to Christmas so she could try and get them back together.
?? "It's rare to see the grass in December." umm... Being from Philadelphia, I agree to disagree. It barely snows anymore. It's been an entire year since we had over an inch of snow.
?? But I'll say that I'm glad it did snow and that they had their "forced proximity" moment in the hotel.
?? I'm not sure how I feel about Nate. Yes, he's immature but does he actually care that Hunter was an idiot for not telling Violet of the trade talks? I'd honestly to see him have his own book, where he grows up and gets a HEA. Maybe he gets traded to MO, and his friendship with Hunter starts up again. There's potential, in my mind at least.
?? I do almost, almost, feel bad for Olivia when he treats her the same way he treated Violet. Her rudeness and "mean girl" vibe just seemed random.
?? Gotta love when your friends call you out on your BS and even your uppity Mom has words of wisdom to light a fire under your ass to get your man back.
?? I said it once, and I'll say it again, get yourself someone who loves you Hunter loves Violet.

Ps. as a Philadelphia girl, I have to admit I did LOL'd when the Philadelphia fans boo'd their own goalie (Nate) when he wasn't doing well. And if you know anything about Philly fans, it was something that would totally (and has) happened. But - lets face it Nate deserved it. Debbie Orazi1,746 24

This was a fake dating sports romance.

I enjoyed this story. Violet's indecisiveness was a tad annoying but as long as they get the HEA it works for me. Would recommend.

Violet Tannehill is a recent college grad who works at Kellerman's Consulting s a financial analyst. She is very independent. Hunter is her best friend. Nate broke her heart in college.

Hunter Mason is a rookie forward for the Philadelphia Tyrants professional hockey team. He used to be friends with her ex-boyfriend Nate.

The Tyrants goalie Huck gets injured and Nate gets traded to the team to temporarily replace him. Violet finds out when Hunter and some teammates walk into the bar she is in with her work team. Nate corners her outside the ladies room and Hunter steps in to rescue her. Violet tells Nate she is dating Hunter and he goes along with it because he has wanted to date her for the past year but she friend zoned him. Hunter gets a heads up from his coach telling him he may be traded but has to attend the Sneaker Ball to represent the team anyway. Violet goes with him as his date. Violet gets an opportunity to start her own business which would be based on Texas. They have to overcome several challenges but get their HEA in th end.

This is the 2nd book in the Philadelphia Tyrants Hockey series featuring Hunter and Violet's page-turning sweet best-friend's to lovers, fake dating, hockey romance. Hunter and Violet have been best-friend's since college where Violet had dated Nate one of Hunter's closest friends. However once Nate graduated and he signed with a hockey team he left Violet behind she never meant anything to him. Violet is extremely hurt by this and ever since she doesn't do relationships instead she focuses on her career and her friends. Hunter is secretly in love with her but he's firmly in the friend zone until Nate shows up expecting them to pick up right where they left off and claiming to be sorry for everything. Too bad Violet doesn't want to hear it she asks Hunter to tell Nate that they're dating how can he pretend with Violet when he desperately wants to be with her? This could be Hunter's chance to show Violet how perfect they could be together for real. Will Hunter finally get his girl? You really need to read this page-turning, sweet, best-friend's to lovers, fake dating, hockey romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

I d the story 'Fake Dating the Winger' by Josie Blake. It was about a woman and a man that have been friends since they were in college. At that time, the woman named Violet, was dating an ice hockey professional player who broke up with her the minute he got assigned to a team out of town. It broke her heart that he didn't think enough of their relationship to continue it with her. Their friend, Hunter, had secretly been in love with Violet for years and was there for her when the other man left town but never confessed his love for her because she just considered him to be a friend. Then one day when they are together, her former boyfriend comes into town and thinks they can take up where they left off, but Violet informs him that she and Hunter are seriously dating now. Hunter is thrilled because this is his opportunity to show her how good the two can be as a couple. He is hoping that she will come to love him too.

In this story, Hunter and Violet have been besties for a while. He has a crush on her but feels friendzoned. Things change when her ex Nate comes to town and she impulsively declares that she's dating Hunter.

This is one of those books in which there is no real reason why the relationship should be fake: he's hunky, adorable and totally devoted to her, and their friends already think they should be dating. But she is a bit gun-shy due to the way Nate broke up with her, as well as her career pressures and her parents' expectations. Or what she thinks they expect, anyway.

I d that there is no flaming third act break-up. There's a slight cooling of relations and I d that it was her gestures and efforts that solved it, he had already shown his cards.

Steam level: Some sexual content but it's not the point.

This is an incredible hockey romance. I absolutely love Hunter and Violet.
Navigating their fake relationship to multiple events and to Violets ex, brings these two bffs closer than they imagined.
Hunter plays hockey while his BFF Violet works in finance and coding. These two have been friends since college and have a close friendship. When Violets ex gets traded Hunters team, she decides to tell him they are dating to avoid dealing with his advances.
This ruse takes them through many different events and occasions which eventually lead to Hunter finally being able to try and win over the woman he loves. But she's definitely not the kinda gal that would do the falling.
I loved this super sweet, sexy, fun, friends to lovers hockey romance. It's fast paced and well told. Looking forward to the next book in this incredible series.
5 stars.

This is the second story in the "Philadelphia Tyrants" hockey series. It is a good stand alone read that I could not put down until the wonderful and happy ending. This story is about Violet and Hunter. This is a spin-off from the "Chesterboro University" reads. Violet dated Nate who left university and never look back. She was hurt by this and refuse to get involved with anyone, including Hunter. He has crushed on her for sometime and wants more. When Nate shows back up she seeks her best friend's, Hunter, help. So these to begin a fake that leads to more. This starts a slow burn story about two unly people who start a fake to so much more journey. The story is addicting with some drama, passion, angst, compassion, warmth and a meddling father. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next story. Annie2,281 12

This is the second book in this series, and this is Hunter and Violet’s story.
These two are best friends, and when Violet’s ex-boyfriend shows up, he wants to rekindle their romance, but she tells him that she is in a relationship with Hunter, who agrees to play along.

Hunter is a sweet and sexy hero. He is my favorite. I his style. He has fallen so hard and just can't quite bring himself to realize his dream. I feel for him. I am happy he finally gets what he wants and sad that he gets hurt. I love his ending. Violet is strong and independent but is letting her heart get hard. I that she finally realizes what she needs, more than what she thinks she wants. Nice easy flowing story.

Violet was dating a guy in college who left her the minute he was called to the big league. Whereas Hunter who has been in love with Violet since college hung around as her bestie. Years later violet’s ex is back and violet asks hunter to pretend to be her boyfriend. Hunter is all over that since he has been pining for violet for years. However playing at dating starts to feel real dating when these two are snowed in. Very cute story. I love when the man pines for the woman. Very enjoyable book. Di1,734 44

Man, Oh Man! What a ride, from beginning to end. I absolutely loved this alluring friends to lovers romance. This book was intense, steamy, and unbelievable! Huter and Violets’s love story started as a way to put at bay her violent ex but developed into a passionate, consuming, and beautiful story. They loved hard, and fought fiercely for the ones they loved.

Fake Dating the Winger: A Fake Relationship, Friends to Lovers Hockey Romance (Book 2 of Philadelphia Tyrants Hockey) by Josie Blake. Fake dating always seems a good idea until those pesky real feelings get stirred up. I thought Hunter and Violet’s story was entertaining. It is filled with just enough drama, complexity, and connection to keep this reader engaged and routing for the HEA. Fake dating is my favourite trope and add hockey AND a best friend? *fans self with hand*
Violet and Hunters friendship has been touched on in previous books and although I didn't see them together when I started this book I was 100% rooting for them by the end.

Josie Blake gave us a really solid fake relationship romance! I love the hockey elements (truly in my hockey era) and can't wait for more in this series. Blake left herself a lot of handsome eligible players left to give us greedy readers! This book was solidly enjoyable from the writing to the characters.

A friends-to-love story with a dash of fake relationship.
