Sinopsis

After being disowned by his family, Cooper judged his self-worth by his latest hook-up. But circumstances change as he learns about true love.

Cooper Dias is a better-than-average college student with a major in architecture and a love of dogs. But while he plays the role of campus playboy, he believes no one would care enough to worry about him—except his best friend Liam. His expectations are simple—searching for the latest hook-up. His newest obsession is his professor, Lucas Nyman, who has asked Cooper to work as part of the team for an out-of-class project, which he eagerly accepts.

At a celebratory evening at Professor Nyman's home, Cooper is invited to fulfill his latest fantasy—a ménage à trois with the professor and his husband. But the fun turns into something much weightier when pillow talk turns into friendly advice from the pair whose bed Cooper has shared. After a close call that leaves Cooper shaken and a confession from Liam, Cooper begins to realize that life is not as he thought.

I received a copy of this title to read and review for Wicked Reads

3 Stars.

I need to preface this review by stating that I don't believe I was the intended audience for this short story/novella. However, not because I am a size-queen when it comes to page-count. I love a well-written novella, probably more than most people, enjoying a full story in so few pages. I believe the writing style isn't to my tastes, needing more depth. As shocking as it is to say, more detail (something those who read my will be floored to see me say).

The blurb doesn't accurately portray the contents of the story. While this is most certainly an erotic short, there is a slight thread of romance, and it's not with the professor. To me, it felt as if the professor was just a blip in a story about a pair of best friend/roommates, waiting for the narrator to grow up.

The blurb also speaks of Cooper's past and a 'close call', but those events of true substance were just sentences thrown in randomly during dialogue and inner monologue, never truly utilizing them. The 'close call', I wasn't sure if that was even executed properly, or with accurate research. With both of these 'events', there was a lot for the author to build on, and it was just left dangling, never more than a paragraph dedicated to it at a time.

As I said above, I'm generally the person who uses my imagination, never needing B & C to get from A to D. But this felt as if it was more along the lines of A to Q, and that is too far of a bridge for me to gap with my imagination alone. This story has a rapid flow, skipping most of the depth, character building, and only detailing erotic scenes. Without the tension, buildup, or emotion, those scenes took on a clinical air for me, especially with the menage scene, as it felt out of place and was over in so few pages. Just a blip in the short story.

This story wasn't for me, not to my tastes, not my cup of tea, and I don't consider that a mark against the author. We just aren't a good fit. However, if you're reader who wants a quick, naughty romp of a story, not wishing to read anything but spank-bank material, I'd definitely recommend this title to you.

This is a short, sexy read about two college best friends. Cooper and Liam have been best friends with benefits for years.

Cooper Dias was disowned by his parents when they learned he was gay. Cooper buries that pain in sex, often not caring if he's being safe or not. Who would care anyway if anything happened to him anyway?

Liam cares what happens to Cooper, Liam cares a lot. Cooper is his best friend and Liam takes such good care of him. He stands by and watches Cooper hooking up constantly, all the while being there and supporting Cooper.

Cooper has a massive crush on one of his professors and one night ends up in bed with he and his husband. The ménage a trois is hot and everything Cooper hoped it would be. What he isn't expecting is for these men to care enough to talk to him about the risks he's taking with his health.

After a close call with his health, Cooper and Liam have a heart to heart conversation. Cooper finally begins to understand that just because his family threw him away doesn't mean no one cares about him. He begins to see that his life isn't exactly as he thought it was.

My heart aches for Cooper, replacing love with sex is a lonely way to live. Liam is an amazing friend and I found myself wanting an HEA for these guys. This is a short, but enjoyable read. september-20171 Blackmermaid457

This was not what I was expecting after reading the blurb. However, it was still enjoyable. I'm not sure I would classify this as a romance though. I think it's more of an awakening and figuring out who's right in front of you.friends-to-lovers m-m m-m-m FantasyLiving604 36 Read
