Sinopsis

Summer, and the Willamette River is a busy place. Eva Fairchild should know...since the wakes of all those passing bulk freighters (not to mention the splashy aftereffects of the daredevil personal-watercraft aficionados and hobbyist fishermen and wide-bottomed weekend yachters) set her floating house to sloshing.

But when an explosion rocks the night, it's more than turbulent water that comes Eva's way—because there's a body in the rubble.

Another winner in the charming Tin Can series

I want to live in Marten's Marina! I want Roxie, Willow, Ned, Bettina, and Cal for neighbors. I especially want to hang out in Eva's kitchen hoovering supper club leftovers. In the latest entry, Eva is doing PR for Thatcher et al and their new journalistic endeavor Pacific Northwest Scope. They have uncovered influence peddling and money laundering around the port of Portland. A death and a case of arson used to try and cover up the homicide has everyone scrambling to connect the dots and bring justice to the guilty parties. Meanwhile Eva is trying to firm up wedding plans with Vaughn, though she feels ambivalent about the wedding circus itself. One thing she's sure of, Vaughn's her soul mate and love bunny. I adore this series (actually all of Jerusha's work). She's a wordsmith with a light touch and effervescent characters and her plots are well thought out. It's a celebration for me when one of her books comes out. Enough fangirling; get the book and read it already. You won't be sorry! Dawn Delle22
