Piper only has one Christmas wish this year... to get promoted to Manager at Blackstock Hotel and Resort. It means more money, better hours but most importantly it will give her more time with her adorable son, Finn. What she didn't wish for was an obnoxious guest who seems determined to make her lose her promotion.

Jace needs a break from the disaster called his life. After his wedding that never happened, he finds himself alone and miserable on his honeymoon for one at Blackstock Hotel and Resort. Who can blame him for getting drunk and being completely obnoxious to the Assistant Manager on duty?

To say Piper and Jace got off on the wrong foot would be an understatement! Who goes around yelling at people one minute and then literally falling on them and telling them they are beautiful the next minute? Can we say epic fail when it comes to this first impression?

But neither Piper nor Jace are immune to the unexplainable connection between the two of them. How can this be happening now? And why is this happening now? With her promotion hanging in the balance, the health of her high school mentor, Miss Anna Cate, deteriorating and proving to the world that she is not a failure, there is just no time for the added distraction of Jace.

But Jace has never met anyone Piper before. She is feisty, speaks her mind and can fix cars a boss. He would be a complete idiot to let her slip through his hands. All I can say is that Jace will definitely have his work cut out for him! But he is bound and determined to show her that his first impression is not the real him.

Can Piper overcome her insecurities and take a leap of faith? Can Jace get her to see that she's been selling herself short and that there's more to her than even she realizes? And most importantly will these two finally get the HEA that they both deserve?

How can I express how much I loved this book?! It was seriously the perfect read for me! I fell in love with Piper, Jace and the adorable Finn from the very beginning! The bantering back and forth, the antics of Finn, the cameo appearances by some of my favorite characters, the legos and lightsabers... it was all AMAZING! Once I finished reading it, I was ready to pick it back up and read it all over again! It was THAT good!

This should come as no surprise that Jennifer Peel has done it again! She sucked me in from the very first page and kept me up way past my bedtime finishing the book! Oh how I loved Honeymoon for One! It's the perfect read for any season!

And now... can we just take a minute to admire these two?! I think they make the perfect Piper and Jace! I'm in love! What do you think?!

Life doesn't always go according to plan--trust me--I feel I know that just as well as anyone. And Piper, my expectations for myself are higher than anyone's are. Piper's path in life detoured six years ago, but she's making the best of things. Piper is a pleaser (I can be that), which makes her very easy to relate to and very likable. I understand her rule-abiding ways, her loyalty to family, and her hesitance to jump back into the past and rekindle old friendships.

Jace doesn't leave a good first impression on Piper, or on the reader, but don't let that fool you. First impressions aren't always an accurate portrayal of a person, especially a person who isn't really in his right mind because, hello! he was jilted on the day of his wedding. He's a very determined man and knows what he wants, but he is open to different ways of thinking about things, especially where his business and relationships are concerned. After that dreadful first meet, I found him to be very charming and sweet. And I mean, VERY.

One of the things that I love best about Peel's writing is her ability to take two flawed characters and give them a magical story. Who doesn't want some magic in life? The charm and romantic tension oozes off of the pages, while they each struggle to find themselves and their happy ending. The road to love isn't ever easy, but it's a very enjoyable process when it's traveling through the pages of a Peel story.

One last note, that I'm sure I've mentioned before: I love it that Peel writes in the first person point of view. I honestly feel I'm a part of the story and a dear friend of the characters. I hope she doesn't ever change that. This is a great holiday story that is sure to warm your heart.

This book was originally part of a collaborative series by several different authors. It is now being released to stand on it's own AND it has some bonus new content! Yay! The cover is also new and I love it! A bit of sparkle always gets me.

It was so fun for me to return to Piper and Jace's story. The new last chapter and bonus epilogue were fantastic and definitely made it worth reading again! I'm going to copy over my original review which I still completely agree with.

I really loved the setting for this one, I’m a sucker for small-town charm and you throw in all the Christmas charm and I’m hooked! Piper is a single mom, working hard to provide a good life for her adorable son Finn. She stays away from men and is focusing on her career. Especially guys Jace Peterson, rich, arrogant and made a terrible first impression. Jace has his work cut out for him if he ever wants Piper to see his true character.

This was a fun read, I enjoyed the characters and setting. I look forward to reading the other books in this fun series.

I have read Becky Monson's book (yay!!) and I'll be reviewing that one later this week. I also have Susan Hatler's book in the line up to be read this week. Man, it's going to be a good reading week!

I loved these characters. They had such great chemistry! As always with this author, the story moves quickly and it kept my attention from beginning to end. Once I started reading, I had such a hard time putting it down and I ended up staying up way too late on a week night (Jennifer Peel’s books have a tendency to do that - it’s a common side-effect). This was the first book from the Christmas Falls series that I read and I know it’s going to be one of my favourites. Given a choice, I always turn to this author’s books first for a guaranteed great read. She never disappoints. Highly recommended.

(4.5 stars) - one of my favorite Christmas romances

Having read this 3 or 4 times now, I'm long overdue to rate & review. I love the not-so-cute meet cute in this story - it's outrageous & yet it still hints of romance. It's fairytale-ish, but still told believably & what a fun fantasy.

Piper has been living for years with the belief that she's a failure & that she can't trust her own judgment - or men. Jace comes along & is so impressed with (as well as attracted by) her that she begins to feel good about herself & her abilities again.

There are a few things that actually didn't reflect well on either of their judgments (it would have been better if Jace had switched to a different hotel out of consideration for Piper), & one wonders at how quickly Jace moved on from his fiancée (though it seems they were closer to a merger of convenience than a romance), but he's so swoony & smitten, and it's so fun to watch them getting together that it's hard to care.

There is an unusual dynamic between Piper and Jace with her drive to get promoted in spite of her attraction to him, and Jace used to getting what he wants. I d seeing how their relationship grew, even though initially much of it was based on physical chemistry. I never quite got a feeling for how things would work out in the end which kept me in anticipation. Piper's reunion with her friends was also a highlight of the story and showed how much we can mature over the years, especially when parenthood becomes the focus of our lives.

Don't judge a book by its cover...or rather don't judge a Jace by his initial moment! Hahaha! He's a bit of a grump, drunk and ornery. And well, he was supposed to be on his honeymoon but the bride jilted him! So there's some definite reasoning behind his hurt feelings. Unfortunately, poor Piper was the recipient of his rant! But fortunately for Jace, Piper didn't completely judge this Jace by his initial moment. ;-)

These two have such great chemistry. But I'm not surprised because that's one of the things that I love from this author's writing...she can write amazing characters full of sparks, chemistry and love stories full of heart!

Piper is such an endearing character. I loved how she's determined to do all she can to care for her sweet son. She's made some mistakes in the past and life didn't turn out how she had hoped it would. But she's moving forward the best she can. And then some wrenches are thrown into her path and she has some more choices to make.

I loved how these two kept being in each other's paths. Or maybe that Jace just kept making moments for them to be together. *Happy sigh* You're going to love it all!!!

I enjoyed listening to the audiobook and loved the narrator. I love audiobooks and hearing the story brought to life. They just make me so happy! Definitely one you'll enjoy if you're an audiobook fan!

Content: Clean. Some kisses but nothing further. A moment of a character being drunk. Talk of divorce and being a single parent.

I am no stranger to Jennifer Peel’s storytelling talent having read sixteen of her books. The vast majority of these book earned five-star awards from me. It is no surprise that I have awarded five-stars once again. "Honeymoon for One" is the second book in a seven-book series and can easily qualify as a stand-alone work. Ms. Peel writes clean, romantic fiction and her characters maintain high moral standards; however, I would not classify her as an author of Christian romance.

You can find most of the relevant details of this story by reading other reviewers, so I will not repeat them here. This is a well-written novella. If there were editorial errors, I did not see them. Piper and Jace were outstanding protagonists who lived up to every standard I to look at for heroes and heroines. The story itself, though fictional, was believable. Ms. Peel grabbed my attention at the outset and kept me glued to my I-pad through plot twists and turns until the final page. If I had any reservations about the storyline, it would be Jace’s abrupt transition from a falling-down drunk to an ideal storybook hero. That aside, this was an enjoyable, lighthearted story worth my recommendation.

Sometimes you just need a book that’s an escape. It helps you escape reality for a little bit. It just helps to clear your head. This was one of those books for me. And I loved every bit of it!

This whole book is from the point of view of Piper. The author did a really great job of making her a character that I d. Piper had sass, she was a woman willing to change her own alternator, in heels I might add. She is also a working, single mother who just wants what’s best for her son. I loved everything about her.

The way she met Jace might be my very favorite thing about this book. He shows up on his honeymoon, by himself. He’s a bit drunk. And he falls on Piper. Such a great beginning. Jace’s character really grew on me in this book. I loved the care he took for Piper, her job and her son. He really went out of his way for her. That was just sweet.

Piper and Jace's first meeting is about as far from a meet-cute as you can get and Jace makes a terrible first impression--drunk as a skunk and demanding a different room at the completely booked Blackstock Hotel and Resort. Lucky for him Piper is understanding and doesn't hold it against him--the man was left at the altar by his fiancée, of course he doesn't want to stay in the honeymoon suite.

Piper is the assistant manager at Blackstone Hotel and Resort looking to become the next manager. Being a single mom to an adorable little boy, she could use the boost in salary, and can't afford to have anything derail her much needed promotion--especially not handsome and determined Jace Petersen.

These two have immediate chemistry and I love that Jace wasn't afraid to show his feelings for Piper. I loved all their interactions--they gave me all kinds of swoony feelings. I loved the way Jace showed he cared for Piper and Finn. Oh, and Jace and Finn together is pure gold!! I found the part of the story about Miss Anna Cate sweet and heart-warming.

I originally read this six years ago when it was a novella and part of a series about Christmas Falls. I love that now it's a book all on it's own and has added content. This cute story is part of the Return to Christmas Falls series. They are stand-alone books, but if you read them all, the characters intertwine between stories, adding an extra special dimension to the overall arc. This one has Piper and Jace as the hero and heroine. Piper works as a manager at a resort near Christmas Falls. When Jace shows up drunk demanding another room other than his honeymoon suite because his engagement was broken off last minute, she can’t help him. There is no room at the inn, so to say. He ends up calling her beautiful, then passing out on her. She loathes the arrogant man, and tries to keep out of his way after that, certain he might make her lose her job. But Jace is a man who goes after what he wants, and Piper calls to his heart. This was a super easy read. I love the author’s writing style. She has a way of capturing my attention right away and not letting go (kind of her character, Jace). I always get carried away into her characters’ lives and love the journey she takes me on with each book. The ending on this book was my only let-down. It ended rather quickly compared to her other books, although it was tied up neatly. I would have d another chapter to give more closure to them, but maybe the last book in this series will do that better. This was another good one though. This book was just okay, sometimes a tedious read for me. I had a really hard time connecting with either main characters. They were flat, boring. Add to that the fact that the story has one of my least favorite tropes - stunningly beautiful woman, most gorgeous guy ever.... I just couldn't buy that this was anything more than a hormonal attraction two beautiful people had for each other. The reason I give this 3 instead of 2 stars is because I really d the mom (she stole the show IMO) and I the other books in this series.1 Chrissie5

Sweet and Sassy Companion to Once Again at the Falls

The first novel in the Christmas Falls rom-com series is a companion to Once Again at the Falls ---not a prequel, not a sequel, but a story told during the same timeline from another character's perspective. This time, the narrator and protagonist is Piper, the estranged best friend of London (protagonist and narrator of Once Again...).

At the story's start, Piper is an assistant manager at the resort hotel in Christmas Falls. She's hoping for a promotion to manager when the incumbent leaves in a few weeks, but he doesn't want her to succeed him. She's also living outside town with her five-year-of son, whose father bailed out on his wife and child shortly after Film's birth. It happened so fast, the townsfolk thought it was a shotgun wedding, full year from wedding to baby notwithstanding. A former valedictorian turned college dropout, Piper has felt a pariah and looks forward to using her pay raise to buy a townhouse for the two of them to escape from judging eyes. Then an irritated, drunken guest staggers into her life and changes it dramatically.

Jace Petersen demands a room change: he was booked into the honeymoon suite and doesn't want to stay there because his fiancee cancelled the wedding. Piper, the manager on duty, tells him they cannot accommodate his request and her gets angry, demanding repeatedly that she give him a new room. "Do you know who I am?" he shouts. Piper doesn't, but apparently he owns a prominent chain of sporting and outdoor goods stores; the locations are mostly west of the Mississippi. He is looking to expand into the East, and Nashville is a hot market. It's also just a few hours from Christmas Falls, which is close to Gatlinburg. Hence the selection of the resort for his honeymoon, no matter how unromantic it seems to the hotel staff.

Piper wants to avoid this arrogant guest, who essentially passed out on her at the end of their discussion, but he keeps calling the front desk to speak with her. Staff cannot fraternize with guests; it's against the rules and could cost Piper her promotion and even her job. But the more she sees him outside the hotel, the more she wants to keep seeing him after his stay is finished in10 days. There are three problems standing in the way: her son, his former fiancee, and social media. All of them conspire against Piper and Jace... until a Christmas miracle smooths the way.

Since this book occurs in the world and timeline of Once Again..., characters and events from the other book crop up : Andy is hired as an IT tech, and he and Piper resume their high school friendship. London comes back to town, and they bury their old feud and forgive each other. both of them donate money to Miss Anna Cate to save the Community Center (though Piper doesn't, and those who haven't read the other book won't) know how London does her donating; Piper notices a warning of Andy toward her old friend London (who doesn't believe her at first); and Miss Anna Cate gets a liver donor right before the pageant in which the reunited best friends sing "Silent Night" as they'd done for years.

Jennifer Peel wrires the way Becky Monson does---free of profanity and explicit sex scenes---which makes them a good pair to share the Christmas Falls writing duties. At least, it might seem duty to write a book based on a publisher's vision, but it is an absolute pleasure to read! I especially enjoyed the unfolding of Jace's and Finn's relationship, from buddies to potential father and son. Piper has just the right amount of sass to stand up to Jace and,later on,his terrifying former fiancee, but she's caught off guard when a fan who posts a photo of the three of them together on Instagram accidentally "outs" them to the world. Her boss and her Momma, who watches Finn during Piper's late shifts at the hotel, both encourage her to branch out and leave her comfort zone. Saddled with baggage from a failed marriage and single motherhood, despite finishing her business degree online, Piper is afraid to try. Then Jace, newly returned from Colorado without a fiancee, offers her an opportunity she can't resist.

I loved my own "return to the Falls" and encourage anyone who wants a trip to a charming small town to visit as well!

It’s no guarantee, and the odds are against her, but it’s still the driving force for her right now. All that will change with one drunk, unruly, rather obnoxious customer who is spending his would have been honeymoon alone… and not afraid to demand unrealistic things in his drunken state.

Jace apologized the next morning. But his opinion that Piper was the most beautiful woman around hasn’t changed. She’s also the most cautious and the most interesting as well. With her promotion riding on his actions, Piper is trying hard to stay out of Jace’s orbit. That no getting involved with clients thing is a hard rule at the resort. So when Jace’s interest seems real, but far too soon the friend zone is invoked. Now, Jace and Piper have some decisions to make, for each suspects there could be far more for them if they allowed it.

Honeymoon For One In Christmas Falls is a delightful romance between two people who might seem unly on the surface, but at the core they each want the same things in life. Finn already adores Jace. Truth be told, so does Piper but there are issues to get past before they find a happy ever after. Discovering that friends truly do remain friends no matter what is one of the most touching parts of this story. And I’m anxious to see all the ladies together in one spot.

In the mood for some feel good Christmas romance, then I’d recommend this entire series. Told in the first person, Honeymoon for One In Christmas Falls is funny, sad, touching and encouraging with a cast of engaging characters that will make you smile. Enjoy a visit to Christmas Falls, maybe you won’t want to leave either.

Okay so I know this is technically book 2, but based on these are all stand-alone. I didn’t read the first one, but I do plan reading the next book as I’d to know more about London. Honestly I’ll probably read the whole saga of Christmas Falls.

Anyways, review time! I would say I give this a 4.25 stars. It was a cute Christmas story. Your typical hallmark movie which nothing is wrong with that. Really my only negative feelings with this book is the FMC. She very much is independent and ‘doesn’t need a man’ per-say but man I wish she would’ve told the Vance dude off LMAO. I don’t know how an establishment that seems to be high class allows bullying but it’s whatever lol.

I would to say I give props to the author for locations used. I’m from SEKY and frequent both Nashville and Gatlinburg a lot. It was nice to hear about Opry Mills and I knew the exact restaurant she was talking about as I’ve walked based it several times shopping there.

This series is going to be the death of me. I don't want to read anything else until I get it finished. I have two more. I can vouch for the "standalone" part. I've read these books out of order and they have all made perfect sense and had terrific flow. Two of them came from NetGalley so if you'd to see what I'm talking about head over there. This story focuses on Piper and her struggle as a single working mom. When she meets Jace her whole life is turned upside down in a matter of minutes. Since I haven't finished the series yet, I can't really say which one of these seven friends is my favorite, but Piper is in the lead.  I am in luv with these books.  I don't feel the author rushed the plot to get to the juicy scenes. I was nervous to read my second Jennifer Peel book because I loved the first book so much -- I was afraid it wouldn't live up to my expectations.

No need to worry.

This short, weekend read (or overnight read if you're me) grabbed my attention from page one and kept me engaged. Her characters are able yet flawed. I was rooting for Piper, but I also felt her frustrations. I developed a bit of a crush on Jace, but I also wanted to smack on the back of the head. The minor characters are perfectly written -- they aren't all-knowing sages who save the day nor are they bumbling idiots who cause problems. They support the main story without taking over. Overall, this fun read had a bit of a modern-day fairy tale feel to it, which I loved.

I have wanted to read this for awhile, was intrigued by the title, plus I Jennifer Peel's books. Was too overwhelmed by books I had promised to review but finally got around to it. I am not quite finished but am reviewing today, anyway, because of the fact that one thing kept bothering me in this story. I was so sure I already knew Miss Anna Cate, and the more I read about her, the more I was wracking my brain to try and remember why she was so familiar to me. I figured this must be part of a series but didn't have the time to track it down.

Yikessssss!!! Here’s the creepy plot (spoilers, I guess?):

Man is super aggressive > man pursues woman despite her saying no (because man alleges he knows better than she does what is right for her) > woman’s mom is immediately on board with this behavior > man spends one afternoon with woman’s child and decides his life is incomplete without them > man ruins woman’s career trajectory because he decided she was better than her current employer > woman has man at her house when child wakes up so he can be the child’s new daddy (after knowing man for one afternoon).
