Sinopsis

From USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Fischetto comes the next hauntingly fun Gianna Mancini Mystery...

Reluctant ghost whisperer and newly hired party planner, Gianna Mancini, finds herself helping to plan an over-the-top wedding unlike any she's ever seen—gaudy carnations, mermaid-inspired bridal party gowns, and a piña colada infused wedding cake. Whatever the client wants. But when Lexi, an author and the maid of honor, is found dead at the bridal shower, Gianna's job becomes much more difficult. Especially when Lexi's ghost appears to Gianna, demanding answers.

Lexi is not all that happy she's been killed before her latest book can be published—a scandalous drama not-so-loosely based on the secrets of those in her real life. She wants revenge for her death, but there are more suspects to the killing than Gianna can keep straight. On top of that, the bride-to-be asks Gianna to step into Lexi's ridiculously high stilettos and become her new...

Stilettos, Bow Ties & Dead Guys earns 5/5 Peekaboo Pumps...Sooo Entertaining!

Gianna has been working for Vargas Events as an assistant party planner which beats working at her family’s deli. The latest event is the wedding of socialite Taylor Prescott, but she and her boss, Valentina, are dealing with the bride’s eclectic ideas that are conflict with her mother-zilla’s ideas of proper etiquette. It is a bit out-of-the-norm, the mother says, to have a wedding shower so close to the wedding, and just as “odd” to invite the assistant wedding planner to attend, but Gianna accepts hoping her boss will approve of her “going the extra mile” for a client. The party, of course, continues the “everything odd” theme: Gianna witnesses an incident between the bride and the best man, interrupts the bride’s father with his sister-in-law, is surprised by a friend of the family honing in on Gianna’s special nature, and then running into the maid of honor. Well, not running into exactly, more running through. No body, no screams of discovery, yet Gianna knows the maid of honor is dead somewhere on the estate. Her ghost is standing right in front of her, an experience she’s familiar with for all her life.

Jennifer Fischetto has penned a delightful fourth story in her Gianna Mancini Mystery with wedding prep, family drama, and the maid of honor demanding revenge. The well-written drama is entertaining, well-paced, includes a witty style of humor I enjoy, and many compelling elements: secrets, lies, and a manuscript of a tell-all many want to get their hands on. But, it’s the conflict between Gianna and her “on again” beau Julian
Reed offering an interesting dynamic. She finds the body and is set to notify authorities, but Julian shows up in his role as a “fixer” of embarrassing dilemmas for the rich and famous, but working together seems the better decision. The idea of a ghost as a client is portrayed well, not juvenile, and although the victim can just disappear, shares little due to a limited memory, and struggles with the concept of “you’re dead,” it is a fun literary device to explore clues, explain motive and suspects, and add a bit of humor; try explaining the talking to “thin air.”

The drama is clever, but it’s the characters in which I became immediately invested: varied personalities, close relationships. I greatly enjoy Gianna’s realistic personality with age-appropriate weaknesses and challenges, and her methods of investigating that do not circumvent the law, most of the time, since she has no intention of negatively impacting her brother’s position on the force. Her family has some quirky manners, but a genuine positive dynamic is portrayed. Fischetto’s writing style is somewhat odd in a way as she uses a present tense form. It’s different, and although it took some getting used to, it doesn’t effect one’s enjoyment.

The Gianna Mancini Mysteries series is my favorite of Jennifer Fischetto's delightful series. Stillettos, Bow Ties & Dead Guys maintains the tradition of taunt but fun tales begun in Lipstick, Lies and Dead Guys. I adore Gianna's family, the cherry on top of a fun paranormal cozy mystery. This one does not have the eerie edge of the earliest books but it does have an intriguing and less that perfect but compelling ghost seeking help and a well plotted and complex murder tale.
From assistant wedding planner to wedding attendant, Gianna's time with the Prescotts is a real head spinner. The bride's demands for everything that her mother resists seems to be more than typical bridezilla issues and the sight of her in the arms of the best man doesn't fit the image of the woman that Gianna comes to and it all makes the new assistant feel as uncomfortable as the whole snobbish family does. The dead body of one of the wedding attendants makes her even more uncomfortable especially when ghost comes to insist that Gianna figure out who among the guests is the murder.

I requested and was delighted to receive an ARC of Stilettos, Bow Ties & Dead Guys from Jennifer Fischetto. I am a long time fan and always request an ARC for this series when I have time to read. I love getting a jump on the new books and I enjoy telling my friends about them.cozy-amateur x-2020-read Barbara Hackel2,305 37

Gianna Mancini can see and converse with ghosts. An awesome superpower to have, but a bit frustrating when the ghost keeps disappearing when you need to talk to her!
Gianna is working for a wedding planner, and in the middle of doing her duties, she discovers the body of Lexi, the maid of honor. As things turn even weirder, the bride asks Gianna to fill in for her dead maid of honor. While it gives her opportunities to question everybody in charge, it is still an odd request for Gianna to fill. In fact it's a deal breaker for her boss, and she is soon out of a job.
With a demanding ghost, a rude mother of the bride, a groom who doesn't seem to be that in love with the bride and a best man who is, there are so many secrets besides the murder.
What ensues is a fast paced, sometimes confusing, mystery that affects most of the principal characters. It's delightful, and kept me absorbed until the final word. Now I want to know what happens next! Waiting anxiously for the next book! Robin Lee437 4

Gianna is beginning her new job working for a wedding planner, finally getting away from working in her parent’s deli. This wedding seems a little strange, from the location at the estate, the dress, flowers….you name it, it’s strange. Not to mention the tension between the bride and her mother. When Lexi, the maid of honor, turns up dead during the bridal shower. Lexi shows up to Gianna, demanding that she finds out who murdered her. Lexi’s particularly angry that she died before she was able to publish her book revealing all the secrets of the family and friends of the bride. Taylor, the bride, refuses to postpone the wedding and asks Gianna to step in as maid of honor. Full of mystery and laughter, you will really enjoy this cozy mystery! K Huski?1,496 18

4.5 stars

Gianna is at a bridal party when she walks through Lexi, the maid of honor, and they both realise she's dead. Lexi was writing a tell all book about the rich family and friends of the bride, but was it something worth killing over? Lexi doesn't want to cross over until her murder is solved, so Gianna is on the case!

These books are always such fun to read! I really the way Gianna investigates, without being too nosey or irritating, as some amateur sleuths in cozy mysteries are. I don't find myself wishing I could tell her not to do that, or face-palm in frustration. Her family is quirky but I love that, and I love her relationship with them. Especially with Enzo, and also the expectations of her, in regards to Sunday dinners. Hilarious!

Another fun Gianna story. Can't wait for more! Bernadette Cinkoske3,636 34

Stilettos, Bow Ties & Dead Guys is a twisty, funny, cozy mystery. Between the boss from a warm place and a bridezilla determined to not accept any of her mother's suggestions, Gianna has her hands full. Then at the bridal shower, the maid of honor's ghost walks through Gianna. These are fun mysteries enhanced with Gianna's family and their Sunday dinner expectations. I love the recurring characters. There are so many suspects for Lexi's murder and a variety of possible motives. The plot just keeps getting more convoluted. I loved that I could not possibly guess what had happened. It's another great addition to the Gianna Mancini series.
I wonder if Jullian and Gianna will get together in the future,

I read the first three of these when they first came out and then lost track of the series as time went on. An ad popped up and I remembered how much I d them. So happy to be picking the series back up. I enjoy the characters and ghosts and the humor of the books. I haven’t looked ahead to the later books so am keeping my fingers crossed there’s no love triangle. I’ve already bought book 5 and am looking forward to reading it next. 4-5-stars ghosts humorous ...more Jean 9

The book kept calling me back to hurry up and find the killer! I kind of figured who it was, (she was too perfect with the obvious excuse. I was a little surprised on how it ended; didn't expect it. I enjoyed reading Stilettos, Bow Ties & Dead Guys; this is my first time with with Jennifer Fischetto. I am coming back for more.
