Sinopsis

From USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Fischetto comes a ghost whisperer on the road...

Reluctant ghost whisperer Gianna Mancini's mother loves collecting murderabilia–objects once belonging to murder victims. It's become quite a hobby, to the point where she has a basement full of items. When Gianna discovers there's a ghost living down there—attached to the dead woman's handbag—Gianna asks the departed to move on. But the senior citizen, Betty, is determined to first get revenge on the person who pushed her down a flight of stairs. And she knows exactly who it is. Her best friend.

In an effort to help Betty go to the light, Gianna, Ma, Betty, and Gianna's detective brother, Enzo, decide to take a road trip to Betty's hometown of Chance, MA to poke around to see if they can find clues to lead the police to this supposedly guilty best friend.

But the more they dig, the more secrets stumble at their feet, and before long, they realize...

Another amazing Gianna Mancini cozy mystery! I love this series. Gianna and her crazy family, along with her boyfriend Julian make such a fun cast of characters. They love their Sunday dinners and family drama. Brother Enzo is a police officer who tries to keep Gianna in check, but Gianna's power to see ghosts keeps getting her into sleuthing for answers. This story involves a road trip, with mama Mancini in tow and ghost Betty who is unrealistically attached to the purse she died protecting which mama Mancini purchased. This adventure takes them to the town of Chance where no one (yet) believes Betty was murdered. Just another great installment in a great series. onmykindle reviewteam1 E1,598

Really good. I absolutely love this series. Book 10 and still awesome! This time Gianna, her mother & brother take a road trip to help a ghost. They end up in the middle of a mess with two hilarious ghosts. I highly recommend picking up a copy to see how it all turns out, you will not be disappointed. I look forward to many more books in this series.2024-read1 Tracy Condie618

This is book 10 of the Gianna Mancini series but only book one for me and I knew by the end of the first chapter that I would be adding this series to my TBR list. If for no other reason than because the main character Gianna has the personality type that I adore for a cozy character, one who truly enjoys food and has just the right amount of sassiness to balance out a really caring sleuth. Not only does she care for her family, a nice traditional Italian family, but also for the ghosts whom she helps to solve their mysterious deaths and cross over to the great beyond via the freezer located in the family deli. Gianna had an accident as a kid that led to her ability to see and communicate with the dearly departed or in most cases, the killed and departed. Gianna’s particular talent is no biggie to her family, including her fiancé Julian, while her mother’s unusual collection of items referred to as murderabilia, now that is a bit out there.
This brings us to the ghost in this story, Betty, who is glued to a Tiffany blue bowler bag that is plain, simple, and stunning. Betty aka Elizabeth Spindle is a bit surly, but then again she was pushed down a flight of stairs. Well maybe not glued so much as stubbornly obsessed with her one-of-a-kind Conrad Blain original that she won at Purse Bingo which she followed across state lines. Turns out that Betty wasn’t the only one who coveted the bag and Betty is sure that her friend Agnes pushed her down the stairs to get it. It seems that only Betty knows about the push because the cops in Betty’s home town of Chance, Massachusetts ruled her death as an accident. Gianna can’t live with the idea of Betty getting sent somewhere else, destined to wander, or for a murderer to be walking around free, so she decided that it is time for a road trip. Gianna’s police brother Enzo and their mom decide to go with her.
Author Jennifer Fischetto has a great sense of humor and imagination to come up with Karma Cuts for a salon and Fortune Diner for a local eatery. These are just a few of the places where Gianna goes looking for clues. For as much as Betty wants to blame Agnes, there are other suspects to be considered, from the niece who sold the purse to a kleptomaniac lawyer, and a few more interesting individuals in between.
There is so much quirkiness to this story that you find yourself giggling as well as rolling your eyes right along with Gianna as she conducts her investigation while trying to not run afoul of the local police. The red herrings do a great job keeping you guessing, they had me looking one way while the murderer was going another.

This long running series latest book takes Gianna, Enzo, and their mom on a road trip with a ghost and her purse to a town called Chance. What a fun idea and the complications of a road trip with a surly ghost are hysterical! Great plot, multi suspects, many secrets, and roadblocks while crime solving in an unfamiliar town. I especially d the fact that Gianna discovered two women with some sort of secret similar to hers, but we never found out what the secrets were. Perhaps a future book will revisit Chance and we will learn their secret abilities. Regardless, I am already waiting for the next book in this delightful series that is filled with family, romance, and plenty of dead people needing help. 1 Bonnie J.192 8

I received a copy from the publisher.
This is such a a fun series, full of great characters. Gianna sees ghosts. In this case, one is "tied" to one of her collectibles, a purse. Betty is not an ordinary ghost. In order to move on, she needs Gianna's help in solving her murder. So they set off on a road trip along with Gianna's Ma and brother Enzo to see who did it, but are surprised when they discover many possible suspects. Love this series! Bernadette Cinkoske3,636 34

Road Trips, Blue Skies & Dead Guys is another delightful, convoluted, cozy mystery starring Gianna “I see ghosts” and her Italian family. Other than the fact that I believed Betty was not murdered by her best friend, there was probably nothing else I saw coming! I just kept turning the pages as another murder happens and clues, suspects and murders abound. I was completely dumbfounded by the actual murderer - and motive. That makes the best kind of mystery for me. Jeanie Jackson2,283 35

I love this family and every book in the series. I wasn't sure how well a book that took place out of town would hold up, but book 10, Road Trips, Blue Skies & Dead Guys, takes us right where we want to go with a Gianna Mancini Mystery! The newest addition to her mother's macabre collection sends Gianna on a dangerous road trip to discover why a woman was murder as well as who did it. The town is a delight, but the suspects are not pleased to be accused of murder, and without knowing the reason, Gianna is stuck trying to figure it all out. Overall, a fun trip for us.2024-read Nancy478 18

Whether you’re a long-time fan of the series or a newcomer, this book promises a blend of suspense, family dynamics, and ghostly laughs that will keep you entertained. Prepare to be haunted by the question: was Betty’s death an accident, or did someone—or something—else have a hand in it?4 s Shannon Binegar-Foster1,839 8
