Champagne, Sunrise, & Dead Guys Earns 5/5 Three-Inch Heels
Engaging Fun!
Gianna Mancini said yes to Julian Reeds marriage proposal, and to celebrate, he arranged for the family to meet at a local upscale restaurant. Everyone was excited, and the restaurant owner and head chef, Roberto Castillo, comped the champagne. Gianna recognizes the owner as the same man she saw earlier arguing with a smartly dressed woman. She learns the woman is his ex-wife and food critic Tamara Evans
a double whammy to instigate a conflict
or murder! Gianna goes to the restroom and finds the body of Tamara in the next stall, and with a burst of shimmering light, her ghost hovering above.
Jennifer Fischettos newest book in Gianna Mancini Mystery series has another ghost hounding Gianna for answers. The victim is able to shed some light on possible motives for her murder with an ex-husband, money conflicts, a broken affair, and her negative causing negative feelings as main avenues to explore, but then Giannas cousin, Claudia, enters with her own hidden agenda and emotional dilemma. This is deliciously entertaining, sending the investigation closer to home! This ninth book brings up different marital conditions causing newly engaged Gianna angst and questioning her future with Julian. Theres her parents excellent example of marital bliss and her own sisters rocky start, but current blissful family unit contrasted with her cousins contentious separation, resorting to stalking, and the victims divorce that may be a motive for murder. Filled with secrets and subterfuge, ghosts and gangs, mayhem and murder, this was an exciting and engaging read!
Jennifers writing style is one I enjoy with descriptive language to the illustrate well the environment and diverse characters, and the banter fits a wide range of multigenerational personalities. Gianna has evolved well dealing with the different ghosts, taking the mysteries seriously, and honing a successful skill set to find answers, but this time she entertained the idea of just sending the victims ghost on her way
is it ghost burn out? But, family trumps it all, and with a close family dynamic, shes once again compelled, intrigued, and surprised to be asked to join her cop/brother Enzo in the investigation to learn the truth. Strong family connections define this series, and with that Gianna manages to be true to her family ideals of fairness. Well-written fun! Perilous problems! Good ghost fun!

I cannot believe that Champagne, Sunrise & Dead Guys is the first book of Jennifer Fischetto's that I have read .... and her Gianna Mancini Mystery series has nine books in the series !!! Well even though this is the first book in this nine book series that I have read, I was not lost at all !! I was able to get into the story immediately and I was totally a member of Gianna's family instantly !
In Champagne, Sunrise, & Dead Guys Gianna and her boyfriend Julian get engaged .... and if that doesn't get readers interested immediately then.... when they gather all of Gianna's family together to share this wonderful news, a woman is murdered !!! Gianna excuses herself to go to the ladies room and walks in just as the woman's spirit leaves her earthly body. Oh yeah a big part in this series is that Gianna can talk to and see the recently deceased and kind of helps them move onto the next phase of their afterlife....which involved the big walk in freezer in the deli that Gianna's parents own.
One good thing with this series is that Gianna doesn't keep the ghost seeing thing to herself. Her entire family, along with Julian, know that she sees dead people and helps them. And her brother Enzo is a detective for the police department so that can get wierd.
So in this latest book Tamara Evans is stabbed to death in the bathroom of The Epicurean which is the restaurant that her ex-husband owns. Tamara's ex-husband, Roberto, is also a "client" of Julian's. I think in this series Julian's job is more secretive that what Gianna does. Julian is a private investigator who does some things that could be placed in the gray area of a black and white setting.
So while Gianna tries to work with Tamara to see who would have wanted to stab a food critic and the ex-wife of a restaurant owner, Julian decides to work his angle and see what he can uncover.
Unfortunately Tamara is clueless as to who would want her dead and isn't completely honest with Gianna so Gianna has to do some gray area digging of her own. Then she finds her cousin is in town because her husband wanted space and moved in with his friend in town. Not only is Claudia in town but her husband, Henry, is a bartender at The Epicurean with his longtime friend, Heath.
Gianna has a long list of suspects as well as getting engaged and having anxiety over that so she isn't thinking clearly about anything !! Luckily she has a very understanding and patient fiance and a ghost that is kind of being helpful.
Readers will love this series no matter which book you start with. I thoroughly loved this ninth book in the series and can only imagine how much fun the previous books were. It has been a while since I've read a book involving ghosts and murder and I have to say I missed it. Thank you Jennifer for bringing me back around to the paranormal fun !!! Robin Lee437 4
Gianna and Julian are finally in a good place in their lives. Theyve invited the entire Mancini family to a special dinner to share their news. Things are going beautifully at dinner until Gianna goes to the ladies room and finds the dead body of a food critic. Two things make it worse; the restaurant is owned by a friend of Julians and Gianna can communicate with the ghost. It turns out that Tamara (the critic) is pretty much an unbearable snob and Gianna has no desire to help her. She changes her mind when some of her family members could be among the suspects and her detective brother Enzo asks for her help. There is no shortage of suspects and she fears that finding the killer may be a complicated process. Jeanie Jackson2,283 35
Love it! With each book, Jennifer Fischetto takes us deeper into each emotional tale. In Champagne, Sunrise & Dead Guys, humor as well as warmth still lives with Gianna's family, but the intensity of the tale increases makes the paranormal tale feel completely realistic. Gianna doesn't plan to investigate when she discovers the body of a stranger, and soon the ghost of the victim, during her engagement celebration, the small family version. She has only seen the woman once and wasn't especially impressed. Neither did she intend to have anything to do with her cousin's marital problems, but she can't avoid the first when her detective brother asks her to share what she discovers with the help of the victim's ghost, and an overlap in people connected to both keeps Cousin Claudia's problems front and center, too.
An amazing proposal doesn't help Gianna deal with the pressure she is feeling about the wedding and seeing so many people with relationship issues isn't helping either. cozy-amateur para-fan-uf x-2023-read Jeanne1,127 6
Champagne, Sunrise & Dead Guys is book #9 in the Gianna Mancini Mysteries series by Jennifer Fischetto.
Gianna Mancini plans to leave ghosts behind while celebrating her engagement at an upscale restaurant with her family, but a dead body in the restroom changes that.

Romance and solving a murder
Another fun book in the Gianna Mancini Mystery series.
Gianna has a long history of seeing recently deceased people and helping them cross over in the freezer at the family deli. Of course that's after she solves their murder!
This book has a lot of extra puzzles to figure out along the way!
Wonderful characters and loads of patience from Gianna, make for a fun packed story! I loved the excitement and the way everything turned out.
Thought provoking and great reading from beginning to end! Bonnie J.192 8
I received a copy from the publisher.
Gianna is having a great day. Her boyfriend, Julian, proposed to her in the morning and they are celebrating at a fancy restaurant with her entire family at night. One problem - she finds a murdered body in the restroom of the restaurant. Oh, and did I mention that she sees ghosts. I couldn't put this book down. Her family is hilarious and the mystery is engrossing. This is the first book I've read in this series and I'm hooked. Can't wait to read the rest. Bernadette Cinkoske3,631 34
Champagne, Sunrise & Dead Guys is a fun, cozy mystery with some romance! Jennifer Fischetto never disappoints when she serves up a new Gianna Mancini mystery. It can be darned inconvenient discovering dead bodies whose ghosts she sees- especially when Gianna is celebrating with her family at an upscale restaurant. This well plotted book has many suspects, numerous motives and more as Gianna tries to help the snobby ghost, worry about her future with Julian and search for the murderer. The plot held me captive and I did not figure out whodunit! Nancy478 18
A 5 a.m. wake-up call is not always a bad thing but what happened later was deadly. Now Gianna finds herself working, with the help of a ghost, to find out what happened.
This is a fun series that is different with every book. Also, in this story we see a new side of two of the main characters. I look forward to book #10.5 s Shannon Binegar-Foster1,839 8
I have been waiting for this part of the story for a long time. I love the characters so much. I was totally shocked when the killer was revealed. I just didnt see that coming the clues lead to a couple other people. I cant wait for the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. Lisa816 12
I loved this book so much. The characters were so real to me. It's the first one I've read in this series and I didn't know the main character could see and talk to ghosts. It was all so real. It also came in handy solving murders. But in public, it makes it hard to talk with a ghost. I d the story so well that I'm going to start with the first one and read them all! Nicole Price37
Cold feet and another dead body
Gianna finds a dead body in a restaurant bathroom. All of this is complicated by a recent engagement and a family member that shows up to add to the confusion when she accuses her husband of being the killer! SPOILER ALERT: hes not!
Having lived in the town where the stories are based its always interesting to actually picture it! K Huski?1,495 18
A new Gianna story! These are always fun, easy reads and this was no exception.
In this one Gianna has some big news, but it's overshadowed by a murder in the restaurant they're celebrating at!
Of course Gianna sees the ghost, and together they try to solve the murder. There are many suspects, and it's not easy to figure out who the culprit is, which is something I enjoy in a mystery series.
This was another great addition to the series. E1,598
