Have you been a good girl?

This book just did not do it for me, and I usually love everything the author writes. I'm sorry, but 5 years and no word, and she falls right back into his arms? He barely groveled and was happy that he was it for her, but did he do the same, not at all. You're telling me, that not once in those five years did he think it would be a good idea to call/text her and say sorry, I was an ass? Yeah, no thanks. 2 s Marty Hamrick429 1 follower

Okay, I’ll start by saying that this is a very well-written and enjoyable story and I want it to be 5-stars for me, but, I simply cannot suspend my critical thinking skills enough to buy the logic of the explanation given for this 5-year, night of the prom ghosting scenario. It doesn’t make ANY SENSE!! The relationship is lovely; the forgiveness and reconciliation is fine, and I loved everything else about the story, but the plot holes are just lazy. They went to the same HS; apparently a smallish one… and he just disappeared from prom night on. He didn’t go to graduation? Didn’t take his exams? Didn’t show up for a single other class the whole rest of the year? There was NO warning, conversation, clue that this was going to happen even in the remotest hint of a hint?? Ummmmmm, no. And that makes it a 3.5 star story, because there are a LOT of ways to fix these egregious lapses in plot and make this a really great, 2nd chance story. The author had an idea and just didn’t think it through enough to give us a believable explanation for the whole thing to make any sense. Now, if you can completely ignore all real world logic, it actually is a good story which I enjoyed, but it needed more foundation for the ghosting to make sense or the absence to be believed, and it just didn’t have that. A cute remeeting and reconciliation is fine, but this feels lazy.

This book is part of the multi-author Mistletoe Love series featuring the sweet holiday second chance romance between Craig and Daisy. Daisy doesn't really care for the holidays but her job's Christmas party is mandatory so she has no choice she has to go. She's not expecting to enjoy herself or have a good time but she never expected that Santa would be Craig who she dated in HS he was supposed to take her to the prom but he ghosted her. Craig can't believe it when he sees Daisy again after 5yrs leaving her was the biggest mistake of his life. However getting the chance to reunite with her for the holidays may truly be his very own Christmas miracle and he's not going to blow his chance with Daisy again. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this sweet holiday second chance romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Unwrapping his Gift is a short and steamy, Christmas themed, second-chance, curvy girl gets her hunk romance. Daisy is a curvy grinch and secretary. Craig is her hunky ex-boyfriend who ghosted her on prom night 5 years ago. Daisy typically hates Christmas and avoids the holiday ever since her dad died 10 years ago on Christmas Eve. However, when she is forced to go to a mandatory office Christmas party, she never expects the sexy Santa to be Craig. Why is he there? Why did he leave and never contact her? He tries to talk to her as she runs away. They do finally connect and talk things out. I wasn't super impressed with his reasons, but his regret was believable. They did have great chemistry, and we got a great HEA. It was nice to see Daisy start to enjoy Christmas again. This was an enjoyable read.

This is Book 6 of Mistletoe Love Series. The plot is about second chances and that love never really dies. Craig left Daisy 5 years ago with no reason. She has been hurting over this and just stuff that has happened to her. She sees him again playing Santa at her Christmas party and everything came back to her a slap on the face and she wanted nothing to do with it. Criag saw her again and he had to make things right with her and tell her truth. All I can say I wish she make him sweat a bit, but I know that when you love someone to the core it will never leave you even when they are gone. The relationship is lovely; the forgiveness and reconciliation are beautiful, and I really enjoyed reading the book.

Leaves a Bit to Be Desired

The problem with short stories in general (IMO, of course) is that there is little room for character development. All we know about Daisy is that her father died in a drunk driving crash (he was drunk and driving) right before Christmas... and this is why she hates Christmas. We find out that Craig was her high school boyfriend who "ghosted" her at prom and disappeared five years ago... but he's suddenly back.

There were lots of typos and inconsistencies in this story, some bigger than others. For example, Craig's disappearing before prom makes no sense to me. How is it he was not seen again for five years? Did he not attend his high school graduation? And at some point it's mentioned that Daisy calls an Uber, but then she drives away in her car.

I don't think this was very well-written. It could have been better. Douglas Williamson5,570 29

When our hero disappeared several years ago, our heroine was heartbroken. Now he shows up as Santa at her office party. This is either going to be a really bad party or a great second chance to get it right. Guess which we get?

This is a short holiday romance with a second chance theme. The story is very well written and easy to read with a well developed cast. Our characters are well developed and I d both our characters right away. Our hero may have left the first time, but he is making up for it now. Along the way we get plenty of steam and a nice HEA. Overall, a very enjoyable story and I look forward to more from this author.

Highly recommended.

I did enjoy this book and I really d the characters. I d how the female started off as basically christmas antisocial but at the end she had begun to change her feeling due to overcoming something from her past. I d the male too, I just don't think we got to know him as much as the female and personally for me I think his excuse about what happened in the past was quite weak and I would have d maybe a but more making up, since that action of his basically changed her life and she still dwelled on it years later, to have to brushed away in a few paragraphs just didn't work for me. In saying that it was an enjoyable cosy Christmas read and I can't wait to see what comes next!.

A quick second-chance, Christmas themed, read

Daisy and Craig were high school sweethearts, then he gosted her on prom night with no explanation.  Five years later, they have an unexpected reunion, with Craig playing a sexy Santa at Daisy's office party and things develop from there.

Always an enjoyable read from Jenna Rose, this was a good combination of story and sexy, some angst and drama, but nothing that can't get worked through.  It was nice to read something with characters of the same age for a change (though I do love a good age-gap!).

A really good love story

Wow, I would call Craig, Daisy's high school boyfriend, the come back kid. Actually it's a second chance at love. They were set to attend their prom, she had her dress, ready to go.... Craig no showed. His family pressured him to leave her or they wouldn't pay his college fees. Being young, he felt he had to do what they say. He ghosted her for five years. In the meantime, her life falls apart with family issues. She hates Christmas and Craig returns at Christmas. Can he get her back and change her mind on Christmas. It's a good book, enjoyed it a lot. They are 22 years old. I usually my mains older, but it is what it is. The fact she went straight to work, IN YESTERDAY'S CLOTHES, wasn't mentioned. The friend was a bit of a heifer. But again, they are 22. The writing style felt someone trying to meet a word requirement. Maybe I was just having an off day when I read this. kymagirl3,553 50

Daisy (h) struggles with painful memories at Christmas time and while she’d typically avoid festivities, a required work party brings her face to face with the man playing Santa, Craig (H), her high school boyfriend who deserted her without notice. Craig is determined to get Daisy to hear him out, and while things quickly heat up between the, he’ll have his work cut out convincing her she can trust him not to hurt her all over again. This was a great story. Daisy has always hated Christmas after her father died. She had to go to her company's Christmas party and ran into her ex-boyfriend, Craig. He disappeared after asking her to prom. Craig always had regrets about ghosting her. He knew that she was special but he let others get in his head. He asks her another chance. Daisy wasn't sure but wanted to try. Will this be their chance at happiness?

I d the premise of the story - girl and guy are dating and then he up and leaves right before prom and then they run into each other five years later. The characters were good, and the supporting cast added to the story, but there were timing and inconsistency issues within the storyline that made me stop and ponder what I read which is why I gave the read four stars.

Daisy and Craig's story is a second-chance romance with some sexy scenes in the mix. Their story is angsty and sexy. Daisy is depressed during the holidays and the last place she wants to be is at her company's Christmas party. However, she can't get out of it. There she finds her high school sweetheart and he is determined to make their relationship work again. With some ups and downs, will it work?.

I definitely enjoyed Unwrapping His Gift by Jenna Rose. Craig and Daisy's story was well written and once I began reading I was hooked. 5 years ago Craig invited Daisy to prom only to disappear on prom night with no explanation. Imagine Daisy's surprise when the sexy office Santa turns out to be her ex boyfriend and prom date. Craig is determined that this time he is not walking away. Will Daisy give him the chance to explain? Lisa Parker3,346 20

Daisy did not want to go the mandatory company Christmas party, she never expected the guy who stood her up at prom to be playing Santa Claus. Craig knew he could not let this opportunity get away, letting her go was his biggest mistake. He is determined to explain what happened five years ago, he has to make her listen.

Can Daisy trust him and her heart not to get her hurt?.

This is a second chance story with a twist of Christmas magic. Daisy and Craig were high school sweethearts until they were not. Craig disappeared and left Daisy alone on prom night. Now fate brings them together when Craig plays Santa at Daisy's work party.

Unwrapping His Gift is steamy story as the past is uncovered and feeling are revealed.

Daisy and Craig were high school sweethearts until the day he didn’t show up to take her to prom. They haven’t seen or spoken to each other since. A chance meeting 5 years later reunites them and Craig is determined never to let her go again. Sweet, steamy story with great chemistry, past hurt to untangle and a lovely HEA.

okay

This story was okay and the fact that I d the storyline was why I gave it 4 stars. My problem was with the editing. There were scenes in which Daisy would saying contradicting things, such as she called for an Uber but then says she gets in car and drives away and talks about her getting her drivers license. Just proofreading things that through the book but otherwise and good storyline. ljamison687

Daisy doesn’t really enjoy the holiday season and being forced to go to an office party is the worst. Especially when the Santa at the office party is the man who left you without a word. In this fast paced novella Craig tries to repair the damages he made with Daisy when he left. Quick story with a HEA. I love a second chance romance even when it’s fast paced in a novella. I love the angst when two people meet after so many years apart. CJ9,079 53

The author has given us a heartwarming Christmas Themed story that pulls us into the lives of Daisy and Craig. The story keeps us turning the pages with heartbreak, regrets, second chances, doubts, determination and steam.

Jenna’s novellas are some of my favourites, add in Christmas and I downloaded this so fast and it did not disappoint. This is a second chance romance with all the warm and fuzzy Christmas vibes.

I loved the plot of this one, Craig and Daisy were always meant to be and their unexpected reunion, then what followed was fun and steamy with the sweetest HEA. Trixie4,148

The MMC made my heart melt and swoon when he vowed to give the FMC all his love and do everything he could to keep her safe and happy because she was his Christmas gift. That's love!

He got his second chance with his first love and more than made up for the five years they have lost;l.

I hate half cocked second chance romances

I understand it's a novella but drilling in the FMCs daddy and trust issues but then she just is magically okay with what the MMC did to her 5 years ago because he's charming, is honestly some lazy writing.
The only reason this isn't a 1 stat is because the smut is pretty good Sheila1,944 4

Nice cover

I d the troupe idea, but Craig just rubbed me the wrong way from the start. When he gave Daisy his explanation as why left, he wasn’t very humble. After the first night together, he acted everything was fine the next morning. d Daisy, but was way to forgiving LiLu4,165 1 follower

Love & Forgiveness ~

I enjoyed reading this story. The backstory was heartbreaking, but it explained so much. The shock at seeing him again was palpable. She wasn’t the only one that was shocked. But, true love never fails, and he did what he needed to do to make things right. Loved the epilogue. Robin Ann596 1 follower

Unwrapping His Gift

This is a story of losing faith and trust in other people and finding it again from a person who broke your heart 5 years ago. After seeing him after 5 years, she hightails it into the night. He follows her and eventually regains her trust in him giving them their HEA. Debra Soehner978 8

Daisy was ghosted 5 years before at her prom in high school by Craig and now he shows up at her workplace Christmas party wanting to explain. Can these 2 rekindle their love? Great short Christmas story.
