Gwynedd Crowther is not only dealing with menopause, but also with her actions of killing Nuada, aka Dr. Nick Evans. The police are still investigating and she is on the list of suspects in his disappearance. The coven is also continuing to entertain the Fae children, Aonghas and Shailagh, in the Celestial Garden. It is during her turn, that Gwynedd sees Shane's girlfriend, Cordelia, performing a ritual over the portal mound. She lets Shane know because and unremarkable could have seen her. Cordelia says she will stop, but she becomes angry with Gwynedd. When she sees Cordelia again, she reports it to the Fellowship leader. This is not the only strange thing going on in Bearsden and Gwyn begins to wonder weather everything is somehow connected.
This book was filled with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat till the end. I couldn't it down.

This is another good story in the Bearsden Witch Series. Without giving too much away, there are several interesting and puzzling threads weaving together in this story and they are handled so well that they work together seamlessly. We have the continuing 'mystery' of Nick Evans disappearance, a new witch in town, something mauling and killing college students, and a mysterious young lady with no memory of her past. I was never quite sure if I had anything figured out, right up until the end of the story. I the world and the main characters, but I have to say, Agnes steals the show in the scenes that she's in! She has become one of my favorite supporting characters of any story I've read.
If you mystery and fantasy featuring witches and interesting (and new to me) mythological beings, you'll enjoy this book and the series. If you are new to this, I would definitely start with book 1, Secrets of a Midlife Witch and progress through the series, to get the background for this book. It's time well and enjoyably spent, and the bonus is the books are on Kindle Unlimited.1 Cat B.554 4

What a wonderful series this is. J.C. Yeamans has created a world that sparks the imagination and take you on a fabulous ride. There is nothing missing here. The characters are intriguing, diverse and fully realized. Gripping mysteries and terrible murders. Magic abounds and mixes with delightful child fairies and a new mysterious supernatural character to pique the reader's curiosity. Is it friend or foe? Such a well done series it is hard to leave Bearsden when the last page is read and one must wait for the next.
I received a free reader's copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. Margery418 2

Nail biting, page turning mystery and intrigue is non stop in this chapter of Gwyns' life. The coven family truly stick together thru thick and thin. Ms. Yeamans weaves a story that is much more than a murder. Her characters have a realistic depth making them each endearing to this reader. Midlife hot flashes are, to say the least, inconveniant for poor Gwen. No matter what faces her, alls well that ends well for not just Gwyn, but for all of Bearsden unknown as well as those in the known. I cannot wait for their next story.

This fourth book in this series shows Gwynedd still struggling over her responsibility for Nick’s death even though he was actually an evil fairy. Her struggles have even impacted her relationship with her boyfriend, Archie. And, Detective Jack Smith seems to have his focus on her regarding some local deaths. Her son and the local coven are there for her. I really enjoyed this book and I’m already looking forward to the next book to see how Gwynn’s story progresses. Amanda Schumacher121 4

J.C Yeamans, does it again, a great 4th book in the series of Gwyn's life. The ups and downs and twist and turns. We learn of things going on at the fairy mound. Something is going around and mauling and killing young men. A woman who has lost her memories. She really kept you trying to figure out if you knew what would happen.
Such a great read, highly recommend starting at book one, an amazing series. Fraxinus182 5

I thought the previous book was intense, but this book was also a hard read. So many times, we read stories where the main character is broken, beaten and still going their trauma didn't happen. And, in this book, Gwynedd is broken, but she is pulling herself back together the warrior she is.

It was heroic and... somewhat hard to get through. But, I also realized about halfway through the book, it was realistic and honest. Because I have to admit, I, too, am not cut out for a life of crime. (I can't accidentally shoplift a book without going through extraordinary measures to fix it, let alone kill someone, even if it IS in self-defense.)

So, while I didn't always enjoy this book. I absolutely related to it. I can't wait to see where the author takes us next in Gwynned's journey. 2023 ann kellett29

I have just read books 1-4. They have really held my attention and there have been lots of late nights when I couldn’t put my kindle down. They are the type of book that you tell your self just one more chapter but three chapters later you are still saying it. I am really looking forward to book 5. The characters are very individual but form close friendships and are supportive of each other. It is a series I won’t hesitate to recommend. Linnette Parris459 3

I love this series. Archie and Gwynedd are still dealing with issues from the last book, but you just know love will keep them going. The friendships and interactions are so strong I enjoy them so much. The story is very creative and intriguing. Such a satisfying ending. This book is a must read.
I happily received a pre publication copy. Doreen Farrar120

An excellent series continues

This is Book 4 of the Bears den Witch series. Several questions raised in the previous books are answered, and the book ends with a dramatic new question for the next volume(s). The series is very well- written, with a dozen interesting characters, and I can't wait to read the next book! Emmie16
