An absolutely unputdownable follow up book to Blood Heir, which needs to be read before this, even though there is a lengthy reminder of what happened and gives a good background story for this new book.

At the end of Blood Heir we left Maeve Sparrow unsure of just who or what she was. She'd found herself in a strange world of vampires after moving in with the person she thought was her father, who she had never met, after her mother died. She is utterly attracted to Caspian at her new school, who turns out to be a vampire and is living in a family coven along with 3 other vampires. Caspian becomes her boyfriend but even more so, her mate. She has formed a bond with him, but that bond has also extended to his family coven. Jealously is not a thing in a vampire coven, which is a good thing as she finds herself attracted to all 4 of them, needing the other 3 as well as Caspian.

After her mating with Caspian and her bonding with all 4 of them it is very apparent that Maeve is not a human, she is definitely a magical being, but what kind?

In this book we find out a lot of background surrounding the vampire, shifter and fae worlds and how they are unable to breed to repopulate their own species. Maeve could well turn out to be the saviour of all three species, but not without a massive fight for her life and that of the 4 vampires she is attached to.

Lots of action, suspense, secrets, politics, violence and magic as Maeve has the fight of her life on her hands with all 3 species! Lots of hot steamy passion as well, mainly with Maeve and Caspian on their own. A real cliffhanger of an ending though! A gripping read from start to finish as Maeve comes to grips with what she is and what she must do to have a shot at a future with Caspian. I voluntarily reviewed a copy "BLOOD RISING" This is an awesome paranormal romance that hooks you right from the start dealing with emotional turmoil, grief, loss, intrigue, steamy scenes, addicting with a twists that will blow you away.
Maeve Sparrow lived with her mother & never knew her father, her mom never talked about him, her mom moved around alot until she was in a car accident leaving her with nothing & no one until a man shows up claiming to be her father.
Caspian is gorgeous, he meets Maeve when her father brings her to a small town in Michigan to live, she's drawn to him heart & soul something inside stirs her when he's around & not just him but his family as well but it's stronger with him.
I definitely recommend to get this phenominal well written paranormal romance the connection between Maeve & Caspian is all consuming, scorching hot, what will happen when she finds out who they are it's a whole different world for her, the characters pull you right into all the intense drama, you need to get this book to see how everything turns out.
