I didn’t read this one right away because I was sure I would hate it all being about fighting spirits. But this was great! Even though the point of the mission was to fight a spirit there was no SSA hate about all spirits being bad. I even feel this mission softened Wulf up enough to be able to listen to Rika.

This didn’t feel a short story, it was fully fleshed out. The characters were excellent. I still hate Carina though, I’m not sure she has any redeeming qualities - but that’s a mark of an excellent character that she can make me feel so strongly.

This book is well worth you time and an excellent look inside Wulf’s thoughts and feelings. 1 Aighmi*398

Wow, is this book addictive!! I could barely put it down, so desperately did I need to see what would happen next. It is a side story that takes place at the same time as Janna Ruth's A Force of Nature Spirit Seekers book. A Force of Nature has a raging storm spirit villain, while in Natural Selection it is the spirit of Vesuvius. These are not trivial foes!! I really appreciated the small connections between the books, although each of the stories is complete in itself. The characters and the world of the Spirit Seekers is action-packed and emotionally honest; the characters are well fleshed-out, the plot intricate and well-developed. I definitely recommend this to any fantasy and folklore fans! Sarah Somerville351 5
