Such a good series! The characters are wonderfully written. The small town location is one of my favorites, but the Park makes you think of it as a second story setting (a small town within a small town). The storylines are so interesting and smoothly come together at the end. There’s family, friendship, mystery, murder, some romance and a surprise ending! All you look for in a cozy!1 Tracy Condie618

Book 4 of the Ghost Town Mystery series starts out with a town festival, the annual Homesteader’s Day Celebration for the town of Grady. The day of the festival ends with a murder down by the old corral. The protagonist, Lily Cranston, has the most unique day job I have come across yet, Lily is the manager of the Calico Rock Mine and Ghost Town also known as The Park. Lily does office work, approving time off requests, expense reports, answering questions posed on the Park’s social media pages, and even dressing in period costume to conduct tours a docent. Tours that include ghost hunting groups which makes her cringe at times because she has been involved with finding a few dead bodies since she has come back to town. In addition to finding those bodies she has also found a love connection with Deputy Cody West. Yes, Lily finds yet another dead body, this one was engaged in fisticuffs with his third cousin removed earlier in the day. Lily didn’t have a reason to get involved until the friend of her deceased mother, one Irene Fletcher, descendent of the town founder, asks Lily to maybe look into things because she is worried for her grandson Chase, the cousin involved in the fight. It didn’t seem many people were particularly fond of the victim, Jeremy Byrde, including his wife Helen.
Lily is a smart one, she doesn’t go looking for trouble, at least not alone, and she gets help from her sisters. Older sister Pat is married to the county sheriff and sometimes manages to get useful information from Jack her husband, and younger sister Ava is willing to go with Lily to seedy places The Oasis Lounge. Even Cody is willing to share a little information now and again, of course he also warns Lily that her job does not involve investigation in any way, shape, or form.
This is a well written cozy with all the good cozy parts and subplots that keep you guessing as to possible connections. I did not figure out who the murderer was, nor did I get confused as to the players thanks to a good amount of backstory. There are plenty of suspects, half-truths, and serious lack of mourning for the victim. This is an engaging story that keeps you turning pages with each new discovery. I am wondering if more is going to come of the mysterious journal .There is also an engaging backstory as to the history of the town and the family feud that makes one think that the sins of the fathers were visited upon the following generation. I was tickled to see the towns of both Temecula and Lake Elsinore included even if it was just briefly as I live right down the road and have frequented both. All in all, this was an entertaining cozy and I will need to check out the earlier books to see what it was that brought Lily back to her hometown of Grady.

Cornered at the Corral is the fourth book in the Ghost Town Mystery series by Jamie L. Adams and boy is this series FUN !!!

In Cornered at the Corral Lily and friends and family are celebrating Homesteader's Day in their town of Grady. Unfortunately after a fight breaks out between two families, it puts a dark cloud over the celebration. The two people fighting are Chase Fletcher and Jeremy Byrde who are distant cousins and their family feud goes back many years. Their feud is compared to the Hatfields and the McCoys feud.

Sadly when Lily and her boyfriend Cody are walking the grounds during the clean up after the event, they come across a dead body ... Jeremy Byrde. And it only gets worse from there when it is determined that he was murdered.

When Lily goes to tea at Irene Fletcher's the next day, she is asked to look into the death because Irene knows that the police are going to look at Chase as the main suspect ... and she knows her grandson wouldn't kill anyone. Seeing as Mrs. Fletcher is from one of the founding families of Grady and the town historian, Lily agrees to see what she can find out. This will not go well with her brother-in-law Jack who is the county sheriff or her CSI boyfriend, Cody. And her sister's Ava and Pat probably won't be too happy but Lily can probably convince her sisters to help.

I could read the Ghost Town Mystery series just for the Calico Rock Mine and Ghost Town happenings. And I would be fine hanging around with Lily as she manages the place or even Ava who portrays a schoolteacher there. But the murders and Lily's involvement are always fun to read also. You cannot go wrong when you pick up any of the books in this series !! Barbara Hackel2,303 37

A delightful addition to the series where the crime is actually not on the ghost town property, but adjacent. You'd think Lily wouldn't be involved, but family friendships make it impossible not to investigate. Meanwhile, there's excitement at the park as well with the legend of a ghostly lady in white creating extra interest and attendance.
One of the fun things about this series is that the main character's family is also a constant part of the storyline. The sheriff is her older sister's husband, her younger sister's boyfriend and his daughter work at the park, and family friends usually play a part in the mystery. I love the family dynamics of love, friendship, and concern for one another.
Fascinating characters, vivid descriptions, and a touch of romance added to learning about the history of the area make each book interesting and exciting. This 4th in the series is no exception, it was enthralling and entertaining!1 Suzan455

I love this series! Everything I want in a cozy mystery. Great characters, a fun main character living in a small town with family around her. This time a murder points to an old family feud and happens on the outskirts of "The Park". Somehow Lily still gets involved when an old family friend asks her to be on the lookout for clues that might clear her relative of suspicion. Lily and her sisters do some sleuthing. Her brother-in-law (the sheriff) and her favorite guy Cody (also law enforcement) ask her to steer clear of the investigation. She always ends up in trouble. The Park welcomes back the ghost hunters, has reenactments, and entertains guests (and readers). These books are just great all around fun and I already can't wait for another! Jamie L. Cornered at the Corral is another fun mystery set in Ghost Town. I thoroughly enjoy this series and this was a fast read for me. I love that Lily is surrounded and supported by her family and friends. The secret and century old feud in this well developed mystery is very intriguing. There are half truths, history, several suspects and a general dis for the victim to complicate Lily’s investigation. You will not be bored! Bonnie J.192 8

I received a copy from the publisher.
This is a fun mystery series. Lily Cranston and her love interest, Deputy Cody, stumble across a dead body. This seems to happen to Lily often. Are 2 lifetime feuding families involved or is something else amiss. The backdrop of the mine and ghost town attraction adds more intrigue to these mysteries. Lily has an amazing group of family and friends that are always ready to jump in and help whenever needed. E1,591
