A wonderful little collection of essays by Jack Ketchum. Most of them deal with the inspiration behind his novels, but there are a few pieces scattered throughout the book - poetry, a remembrance of an old friend, and a look into the life of a writer. If you're the sort who loves taking a peek behind the scenes, this is highly recommended. If that's not your thing...read it anyway, because it's Jack freaking Ketchum.

A quick note about the book itself: this is a limited edition from Borderlands Press, and it's very beautifully put together. A LITTLE EMERALD BOOK OF EPHEMERA is a part of their Little Books series. 1 Phil Zimmerman470 8

An excellent collection of non fiction from Ketchum. I had read most of these before in the limited editions but it was fun to revisit.collection nonfiction1 Tobin ElliottAuthor 17 books135

A wonderful collection of forewords, afterwords, short blogs, poetry, introductions, and anything else that provides a peek into the mind of Dallas Mayr, writing as Jack Ketchum.

The book feels a few trips to the local bar, sitting off in the corner, Jack with his single malt, and listening to the man just talk about stuff, from the inspiration for The Girl Next Door, or Joyride, or his struggles with Off Season, and the follow-up, Offspring, and a whole lot of other books and life experiences in between.

This is a gorgeous little book, marred only by the ridiculously obvious grammatical and formatting errors that should have been caught before going to print. The only reason I didn't give it the full five stars.anthology biography nf Ralph Carlson1,028 16

Jack Ketchum gives a look into his inspiration that is both personal and unflinching (as he does). Wonderful! Michael Smith21 1 follower
