This is a Mafia Romance, and this is the seventh book in the Moretti Mafia series. This type of book is not for everyone, and there is stuff in it that could upset some readers. I have not read any of the other books in this series, but I think this book can be read as a standalone without any problems. I really got pulled into this story, and I really enjoyed this book. Lucia's character drove me crazy at times, but I love how she stood up for herself and did not take any crap. Santino was a hard man to love, but his character grew on me. An magnificently written story which is part of a fabulous series which has marvelous characters and a great page turner. A steamy spicy romance with a beautiful happily ever after ending.
A story about a young mafia woman whose brother is the don of the mafia family and the mafia boss who after being at odds with each other find happiness and love with one another.
The young woman and the mafia boss are put together by the woman’s mother but the two can’t stop arguing but they marry anyway even though the mafia man is strict and thinks that the young woman should do as she’s told. The mafia boss has heard rumors about the young woman and her twin brother but their mother informs the mafia boss that they are not true.
The mafia boss and the young woman go back to Rome where he lives. The young woman meets some of the wives that the mafia boss’s men are married to and the wives start talking badly about the young woman’s mother . The young woman defends her mother but the mafia boss spanks her. They wind up kissing a few times even though the two hate each other as well as having sex a couple of times.
The mafia boss has the young woman’s brother send him the hair he had from the uncle that he killed so that he can do a DNA test with it. He wants to know if the young woman is part of the true mafia family or not.
The wives of the mafia boss’s men come back several times and the young woman tends to be the one that acts the head of the group. The two go out together and they start talking. Soon they agree to talk and be upfront with one another.
The mafia boss finds out about the DNA test, he was lied to and he’s angry about it so he confronts the young woman about it and she’s confused about all of it, she has no clue what he’s talking about. The Mafia boss contacts the young woman’s brother who accidentally tells him the truth but makes him promise not to tell his sister about it. The young woman calls her mother telling her what she found out, the mother doesn’t want to talk about it over the phone so they plan for her to come the next week.
Before her mother comes the wives of the mafia boss’s men come back while he’s gone. The young woman calls the mafia boss telling him about the wives being there. The wives start out being nice to the young woman but soon the young woman figures out what they are trying to do and throws wine at the one who is the leader of the wives, she kicks them out of the house. When the mafia boss comes home she tells him everything. The mafia boss meets with the men whose wives are starting things with the young woman informing them what will happen if this doesn't stop.
The young woman’s mother and twin brother come to Rome and once they get to the mansion the mother and young woman decide to wait to talk until dinner. At dinner the mother tells her twins everything and the young woman finds out that the mafia boss knew about what happened already. The young woman runs off and the mother boss goes after her and they talk before the young woman walks off.
The brother goes running off, he’s already a bit drunk and when the mafia boss goes after him he finds him on the ledge of a building. The mafia boss goes to the roof to get the brother down and while he does it he breaks his ankle. The mafia boss calls the young woman but she doesn’t answer so he gets ahold of one of his men and he takes the mafia boss and brother to the hospital. The mafia boss gets a cast on his foot and the two men go back to the mansion. The two women come in, finding out about what happened, the mother takes her son to go talk to and the young woman and the mafia boss talk before he goes to bed.
The mother and the brother go back to New York where they live so that the brother can get some help, he’s going to rehab for his drinking. The three talk alot on the phone. After they leave the mafia boss and the young woman start getting closer. They wind up telling one another that they love each other and they even start sleeping in the same bed together. They even make love. The couple are in love and happy together.
