Cassie Cross is a Wonderful writer. She brings such intensity and clarity to her writing. Her style of writing is refreshing. Her characters are well written and she sets the scene as you think your in the story with her characters.
Kia Richardson just graduated college and is trying to get her Graphic Design business up and running. On her way to a very important presentation her strap breaks on her computer bag but catches it before It crashes on the subway. She feels very lucky that she caught it. But that's a fleeting thought as she rounds the corner not watching where she is going and runs right into Jason Turner. Her bag goes flying and her heart plummets. She is sure she is screwed with her computer in pieces laying on the ground. Jason feels bad he broke her computer so he offers to fix it for her. They go into his building which Kai is very guarded, she is sure there's no way it can be fixed.
While they are waiting Jason offers her one night with him. He tells her he does not date so it's a take it or leave it kind of deal. Kia thinks she has nothing to loose so she agrees.
Jason and Kai are from two different worlds, however a chance is all that's needed to spark a fire between them. What starts out as a one night deal turns into more when Jason realizes he wants more with Kai. Jason has a past that makes his keep everyone he's close to at arms length. If Jason lets Kai get too close, she could get hurt. If he lets her go he will always wonder what could have been. If he can keep her safe, is it worth the risk. When Kai finally finds out the past Jason is holding onto is built on a lie, maybe Jason will finally let himself believe he can have a future with Kai.

This so far is quite an interesting story and leaves you wanting to find out more about Jason and his past. The chemistry between him and Kaia is there immediately and comes through in the writing. And I wanted Alexi and Mari to really get to know each other instead of them professing their love. And I honestly thought the story of John and Sylvia piqued my interest more than Mari and Alexi. Overall, if you are looking for a quick read with a Greek billionaire and a genius socially-awkward heroine then this book is for you.

This book popped my billionaire mafia cherry and fuck, I d it. I don’t know why I’m surprised: an alpha billionaire whose focus is on distancing himself from his mafia family meets a virgin genius who is too smart for her own good. This set up is exactly my cup of tea – that I have dumped lots of sugar into and I could give two fucks whether it’s healthy or not. Sorry not sorry, Mari.

Mari’s actually a genius. a real, live, genius. She also has probably the oddest background of any heroine I have ever read: her mother picked out her donor sperm father with the specific intent of creating a genius child. Mari was then groomed from birth to be the genius that is going to change the world. Sadly, that also made her pretty fucking socially awkward. She finally decides to break out of the mold for just one night…and well, shit doesn’t go quite to plan. Suddenly she’s trying to outrun a bullet (she doesn’t have magical powers. sorry) and the mafia.

Is Mari going to annoy the fuck out of you when she reminds you every five seconds that she’s smart? Yes. Is she going to do really stupid things that will cause you to wonder if she actually IS intelligent? Fuck, yes. But let’s remember here: all of her terrible decisions surround social situations, so cut the girl a break. Her awkwardness is true to character and hell, she actually grew on me.

I really d Alexi. He’s alpha and complex without being overly gruff. He feels a strange connection to Mari that’s un any he’s ever felt before, which causes him to make possessive declarations; yet, he still takes things (physically) slow. I loved his intuition and his good heart. There is actually a sweet love story that’s mixed in with the strange yet enjoyable plot as Mari tries to figure out who she really is while Alexi tries to find a way to keep her alive.

Mafia danger, virgin wife & a billionaire….this book is a pleasure you shouldn’t feel guilty about. 3.75 stars!

Alright, I simply want to make this absolutely clear: how can a twenty one year old still be that innocent, and I do mean innocent (having never seen porn, never been kissed, never been to a bar, etc.) in these modern times, still exist?!? I kept wondering if Mari could still exist... Albeit her age, I have met early twenty's geniuses, and have felt stupid beside them even though I have graduated from university, Mari seems to over calculate everything: from the way she drinks, dresses, cuts her hair, or even leaves the bar, just feels over rated. However, even though I mentioned those points (which may have annoyed me, because I tend to hate people who over think everything, so maybe I'm braised in this situation), I enjoyed the darkness, the mysteriousness behind the billionaires - not much is said about them or their backgrounds except for bits and snippets which keeps readers craving for more, and undoubtedly the sexual tension between Mari and Alexi, and can only hope that the series (if more will be forth coming) will evolve beyond the one dimensional character (i.e. Mari and her over calculating ways) and adding more oomph to the virginal woman - because there is nothing sexier than a woman who knows what she wants and needs, never having found it yet and the dominant taking it...

I so adored this book. I read straight through in just over and hour, and I loved every page. Lauren Hawkeye always delivers a good read, but this one was definitely among my favorites of hers. I loved Alexi and Mari and the shenanigans they get themselves into.

There is danger, romance, and some hilarious moments. From the first page, I was laughing at some of the situations that Mari finds herself in. The chemistry between Alexi and Mari is insane - and it makes for quite a few great scenes. One Night With the Billionaire was filled to the brim with great scenes and just a whole lot of awesome really.

One Night With the Billionaire is a total must read. I would so been down for another book featuring Alexi and Mari, since I didn't feel we got quite enough! The pair of them are awesome.favorites1 Mauaqui1,288 2

I really enjoyed this. Loved the main male character, Alexi, but the character of Mari drove me up a wall most of the time. Yes, she is smart (she keeps telling the reader and everyone else that) but good lord, is she ever stupid at times! She seriously has no idea about life outside of a book or a lab, and I just really wanted to throw something at her after awhile. Still, I didn't hate her since I've known people exactly her.

My favorite characters in the book were actually the supporting ones of John and Sylvia. I found them extremely interesting, and I think they need their own story! Monique Machuca-Austin310 26

I really did enjoy this story. Lauren is a wonderful writer and the story line was wonderful. However, the main character Mari drove me up the f-ing wall!

(I am going to do my best to not give anything away)

This story is about Mari. She is a genius and at 21 has two doctorates and is very bland. She has no friends and really no life outside of what she studies. When she is trying to sleep but can't because of her neighbors having insanely loud sex, she goes and pounds on the door. When the people answer, the girl is someone that Mari taught. She says somethings that make Mari rethink her life. First step, cutting her hair.

Mari then decides to go to a club because she would never really do that. That is where she sees Alexi. Alexi is a great character with ties to the Mafia. When he sees Mari in the club, he knows right away that she shouldn't be there.

Mari and Alexi end up together due to certain events and this is when their relationship takes off and when I start to not be able to stand Mari.

Let me put it this way, she is so smart that she's stupid. Book smart yes, everything else, no. When she is told to do things, she doesn't listen because she thinks that her IQ will get her out of it. She reminded me a lot of Sheldon from Big Bang Theory with how she spoke. I really couldn't stand her in some situations.

Now, with that all said, this book was wonderful. Lauren wrote the characters VERY WELL and the story had great twists and turns. The drama was wonderful and she did a fantastic job with Mari. Mari is just annoying with the way she thinks sometimes.

The story also has snippets from other characters and the topic she brought into play with them was fantastic. I hope to see a story about them.

I really did enjoy it. I would have read it all in one sitting had I not go it so late at night and didn't have to wake up early today. I finished it as soon as I got home though!

This is the 2nd book in A Virgin, A Billionaire and a Marriage series. I recommend reading these in order, although it is not necessary to enjoy the book.

Mari and Alexi meet at a nightclub. She is starting to realize being a genius is not enough to have a full life. She flirts with his cousin and ends up a witness to a double murder.

Alexi was there as a consultant to other billionaires who owned and were opening the nightclub. He does not want his filthy cousin to touch or interfere with Mari's life. After finding out her life is in danger he does his best to help.

Mari is not sure what to do. She wants to call the police and does not understand the full extend of what has happened to her life. Alexi tries to explain and there is much heat and a large learning curve.

They are both attracted to one another. Alexi has to go out of his way to protect her. Doing things locking her up and not letting her go home. It may take some serious convincing to help her see the gravity of the situation.

This book is surprise after surprise. There is definitely something for everyone. The bad guys are convincing and the chemistry between the main characters runs HOT! I had only one real complaint. I felt the story was rushed at the end and should have been longer to feel smoother.

This was a super fast read, which is really nice sometimes when you want a quick pick me up, a moment of romance when you are crazy busy. I enjoy category length novels a lot. The story is sweet in come places, odd in a few places, a little suspenseful in others, and a little sexy.
I say littles for each because the story really only touches on each one.
I really enjoyed the to main characters and their chemistry was cute and sexy. They both had unique personalities and honestly, Mari is kind of a hoot. Her sheltered life has left her so analytical that she has to take the time to comprehend a joke, which means it’s most ly, not funny anymore.
Alexi is pretty swoon-worthy, especially considering his dedication to leaving the life of the mafia behind him. His reactions to Mari, especially when she let’s her geek side show, are fun.
The problem I ran ito was that this was waaaaaaaay too much story for such a short book. This had all the potential in the world, such a great plot, and the foundation for amazing characters. But, it was rushed and flew right over wheat should have been a much more complicated story. I’m a fan of a good insta-love story, but it has to be done right and this was so rushed I barely had to pick up on the relationship.
However, this book made me curious about the authors other works and I going to give them a shot and see where they take me.

One Night With The Billionaire is a fast moving novella filled with plenty of heat and suspense. This is the second book I've read by this author, and I've enjoyed both of them. Lauren Hawkeye creates interesting characters and weaves fascinating stories around them - and boy does she know how to write a hot sex scene!

Mari Hart is super smart - a real life genius - but she is also naïve, has no street smarts, is socially awkward and at twenty one has never been kissed. I must admit that I found her a bit annoying at times, she just seemed to be too innocent and naïve to be entirely believable. When she decides to let her hair down and enjoy herself for a night she ends up hearing something she shouldn't and is in danger of losing her life. Rescue comes in the form of gorgeous billionaire Alexios Costa. He's a real alpha male and has some dark secrets, but finds himself drawn to the frustrating geek. They are an unly couple, but after all they do say that opposites attract - and you can't get much more opposite than these two!

This is a short and sexy story, with some humorous moments and an exciting storyline. It's a nice easy read, ideal for relaxing with after a busy day. One Night With The Billionaire receives four out of five stars.

Usually I am not bothered by the install lust/love. It makes thing easier for me and the heroine. This time though it did and I don't know why. Maybe the problem is that the install love came too fast after the install lust. The main characters don't spend a lot of time in the same room and yet they are in love with each other. I believe the author should have dedicated more ages with the two of them get to know each other. I was more invested in the John and Sylvia's story, which is very complicated. I don't get where Sylva's backstory came from. I haven't read the first book, but if she wasn't introduced then than she should have gotten more time to see her story.

My biggest problem witht he story was that for most of the book, Mari and Alexi were apart and yet they fell so deeply in love with each other. Also Alexi marries Mari without her consent, which I kind of understand why it was done, but I would have preferred it if he had talked to her first.

I d how some Greek words were used and they were used in the correct way so the book got some points for that. Mari has a personality that's similar to Sheldons from the Big Bang Theory. Fantastic story with a Hot Alpha Billionaire and a 21 year old naive, genius, Virgin who come together through danger but stay together to protect her from the Greek Mafia. Both of them have been isolated in their life and they see something in each other. I enjoyed their growing connection and chemistry these two shared, and was rooting for them from almost the beginning. It was fun to watch Mari come out of her shell, stop being naive and become stronger. She had spunk, was feisty and was oh so smart. I loved the Alpha maleness from him, but also how he could be loving and protective. It was nice to see the softer side of him at times. This was fast paced and a quick read that will take through so many emotions as they give you so much that we all want in a story. There is suspense, danger, love, as well as humor. I was captivated with this storyline and could not put this down.

Lauren Hawkeye created this world that was at times graphic and intense yet heartfelt and all consuming but it was such a fantastic journey for these characters and I loved being along for the ride and so will you. Highly Recommended !

She goes out to a club and stands out immediately and catches the eyes of two men. One sinister and another who is just trying to get out . He know by looking at her she shouldn't belong and will an easy prey but he has his own problems.

The story line evolves from there. We get suspense, intrigue, great bickering, and the start of something between Mari and Alexi. The two are the most unliest people to have such sting chemistry.

I really enjoyed the storyline and loved Mari. She was innocent, funny, and a fighter. Alexi is powerful and of course rich. He finds Mari brilliant and sexy. When I received this book I had know idea what it was going to be about. I figured it would be just another billionaire book where the “billionaire” meets a girl, feels and attraction, and has to win the “girl” over. Okay so this book has this story line, truth be told we love this scenario and that is why we keep buying these books. However; this book is so exciting with the Greek mob twist, and how Alexi discovers how complex Mari’s mind is.

I so enjoyed reading this book. There was a plot, a character build up. That left me wanting to know more about the minor characters. I know that John isn’t a billionaire, but the side story of him and Sylvia seemed so interesting.

I highly recommend this book. It has an interesting subject matter, action, drama, some sexual situations and some graphic violence.

When I have read blurb I was ok, woman will meet a man in a night club annnnd they will be together. But why she will need to become his wife??? This question draw my attention so I decided to read it.

First chapters give us info about Alexi and Mari. I need to admit that when I read that part that Alexi was from mafia family I was eager to know more about his life! And when I have read what kind of girl Mari was I d her so much! She was simple girl who decided for one evening have fun. Simple wish, right? But everything ended so bad...I don't want to spoiler what happened with her but I can tell you one thing, if not Alexi Mari would have bullet in her head.

Of course I should admit that I wanted this book to be longer. I wanted to see how their relationship will bloom.

Mari's a brainiac twenty-one year old virgin. Seriously, she's the smartest person you'll ever meet. With two doctorates, she finished highschool at 15, can hack better than Jonathan James, break through the latest security systems and just incase you're still unsure of her smarts, she continually spews out 'annoying factoids' to keep you up to date.
She's also socially retarted.
Deciding to delve into the world of 'normal', she finds herself propositioned at a nightclub before witnessing some very bad mob business.

Alexi bought his way out of the family business. The Greek mafia. When Mari suddenly enters his car amidst a spray of bullets, he swears to protect her. Even marrying her if needs be.

This was a pretty good read. Though Mari could get a little annoying, and I have no idea why we got a look into John's kinks and his relations with Sylvia... Alexi was a saving grace.

This was a really good quick and easy read and it is just what I needed. I had just read a book that literally had my heart thrown into a blender and spit out so I was really in the mood for something that would grab my attention and not make me think too much. This was perfect. I really, really love Alexi and think he is such a yummy billionaire who takes a stand against his family and does everything he can to protect the very sweet and oh so innocent Mari who just so happens to see something she shouldn't. Seriously, there were moments when Mari was talking that I would die laughing because I could totally see her starring on The Big Bang Theory which just so happens to be one of my favorite shows. I was hooked from the first page and read it in one sitting. A really good read in my book! I'm giving this one 4.5 AMAZEBALLS stars!!

Mari Hart and Alexios (Alexi) Kosta come from two completely different worlds and do not realize that when they meet, they are each the answer to each others broken lives. I don’t want to give too much away as you can read the book and actually enjoy it, but my favorite part is the dismantling of the alarm system. Made me laugh and I’m not going to say why. I personally live with a Mensan and it can drive you batty! Read the story – it has heart, it has grit, it is hawt and it has intrigue. I really enjoyed these two, and the second storyline, and would love to read more about where they go from here, for all of the characters. I highly recommend newest Lauren Hawkeye book. I'm so glad I finally got to read this book. I feel as if I've waited over a year for it to be available on Amazon, who knows perhaps I did but I cannot tell you how loud I shrieked when I finally saw it in the recommended for you section. Needless to say I enjoyed this book. Oh my god did I enjoy this book just I enjoyed the one previously. I will definitely be looking forward to the next book from this awesome offer. I loved Mari and Alexi's story. Although I'm not gonna lie I was annoyed a little bit by how much she kept throwing her doctorates in our faces yet at times she sure didn't act very smart. This was a good quick read. They did fall for each other quite quick but some people do so who am I to judge. She is a literal genius who has never gotten out to enjoy life and to learn who she is and the night that she does all hell literally breaks loose. Alexi is there for his friends see her and wants her but doesn't approach. What happens when she comes crashing into his car with people chasing her with guns? Will he help her? Will they be able to work out all the problems? I really don't want to give too much away. It was an enjoyable read and you don't need to read the first one in order to know what is going on with this one.

I think the story of this book was awesome, Lauren Hawkeye did a fabulous job introducing developing her characters showing us just how they come into light in this book. I just felt the story itself was written nicely but it was a bit rushed for me I understand that it was a short story and you only have so many words but Mari and Alexi were only together for such a short time but yet they fell deeply in love, I would have d to see more chemistry build up between them... Lauren definitely can write and I bet in a longer book I would have LOVED this book... Cupcakes and vodka Book Blog 100 6
