This was such a cute read! Deacon and Brooklyn gave me all the TVOne holiday movie feels. A chance encounter at a coffee shop leads to the fake relationship Brooklyn desperately needed so, she’s not the odd woman out at her family’s holiday celebration. But, the attraction between her and Deacon was very real. I have truly enjoyed my time with these couples. The black cowboys, the black ranchers, and the black horse trainers were definitely the highlight of this series. This was a cute pretend relationship turned real one. Deacon and Brooklyn have an instant connection, but are just getting to know each other. Despite barely knowing him Brooklyn felt comfortable enough to make him a gutsy proposition. Unbeknownst to Brooklyn, Deacon was enthralled with her and jumped at the chance to be with her in any way. I loved that we got the Jubilee scenes and the trimming of the tree that helped tie in Christmas. Deacon knows he should have left his family right where they belonged, at they own house lol, but I think they evolved a bit. All the feels with this book! It had a good balance of romance and holiday spirit with a little family drama. I enjoyed the twist of the fake dating trope centered around the Christmas holiday. I would even say this could be categorized as insta-love and it was done right.
