The Wallflower And The Running Back was such a good read I've finished it in a matter of hours.

Logan Ford is a good football player, but this season he needs to pass all his classes to play. He needs a tutor, and he wants Rachel Edwards, the best in the science course.
Their story starts this, not overdramatic but pleasant and steamy.

Logan and Rachel have the perfect chemistry, and once they got rid of their first, not too good, impression they build a fantastic relationship.
Rachel and Logan have good personalities, they are very sweet and smoldering when they are together. They support each other when they have to face some challenges, and they help one another to get out of their comfort zone in order to reach their goals.

Those who enjoy Ginger Scott writing, an opposites attract storyline, and college sports romance should give this novel a go.

Gorgeous, sexy read. One of my favourites of the year!

"I knew she'd make a difference. Instinct told me. But I also wonder if there was a part of me that wanted to reason to talk to her. We've never had the occasion."

When Logan Ford needs a chemistry tutor, unbeknownst to her, he specifically requests Rachel Edwards. They (literally) bumped into each other on the first day of freshman year, but up to now - their senior year - have never crossed paths. However, he's a popular football player and she's one of the brightest students in their year, so they're not unaware of the other.

"I'm always out of place. It's why I thrive on the edge, just out of the picture. It was nice to have you there with me."

Oof! The chemistry and attraction between Logan and Rachel was unreal! I loved how all of Rachel's preconceived ideas about Logan were smashed by the reality of him. He was so much more than some dumb jock. Rachel had suffered a major blow just before she was paired with Logan and he was a real balm to her self-esteem - the thrilling thing was that his desire for her was genuine. She was a major chemistry nerd and would have rather hidden in her dorm room and binged her favourite TV show rather that go a frat party, and I d how Logan brought her out of herself.

"I don't think I've ever wanted to be so completely owned by someone in my life."

In turn, when Rachel got to know him, Logan showed her a side to himself that was smart and sensitive. He understood her and her insecurities so well. I thoroughly loved that there was no major bust up between them - purely because Logan refused to let her hide herself away and avoid hard conversations. I adored that they had each other's backs, truly valued each other's career aspirations, and the ending was one hundred percent swoonworthy! A first class romance!

Ginger Scott has never disappointed me and I swear that each of her books gets better than the last!

I was invested in this book from the start. Scott has relatable storytelling that wins me over every time. I am seriously on cloud nine every time I read one of her books because everything hits in all the right ways. The story is engaging and the plot is well-constructed.

I fell so hard for Rachel and Logan. Their personalities were well-developed and it was easy to slip into their shoes throughout the story. Logan was an absolute dreamboat. He was a gentleman and treated Rachel with such respect and kindness. I loved Rachel's character development and her journey through the betrayal she experienced at the start of the book. There were some fantastic secondary characters that I wish we got to see more of but were great additions to the story.

Rachel and Logan were so in sync. They complimented each other perfectly. Their chemistry was magnetic and felt so natural. I was Team Ragan from the start!

Overall, this was another outstanding college sports romance from Ginger Scott. She has got this genre down to a T and always impresses me with her quality stories. I am loving this series so much and I can't wait for book three!

The jock and the nerdy tutor. It's not the first time that I've read this trope, but this book took a refreshing spin and I loved it.

Logan needs to pass chemistry to stay on the football team and he's found himself the perfect tutor in the really smart (and really pretty) chemistry genius, Rachel Edwards. Rachel doesn't really want to tutor the arrogant running back, but after losing an overseas scholarship, her best friend and her boyfriend all in all swoop, she has an idea. If she can get Logan to take her to the science ball, she could win the dating pool for hottest date and win a huge sum of cash to help with that overseas dream. Plus, a little fake dating will show both of their ex's that they've moved on. It's a win-win, but soon it doesn't feel all that fake.

I love an arrogant alpha male, but what I love even more is an arrogant male who is really hiding some insecurities. That's Logan. He comes across as the cocky football player, the "dumb jock", but he's really a sensitive guy who hates the image that he's portraying. With Rachel being an introvert, Logan brings her out of her shell while Rachel sees the real Logan that everyone else seems to look over. I loved their connection and their chemistry (pun intended), and I loved watching them fall in love.

Another thing that I enjoyed about this story was that it didn't follow the typical storyline of the jock and the tutor. I kept expecting certain things to happen, because I've read this trope enough to know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised when this story just didn't go there. I was also a little surprised about the steam factor as this book is possibly the steamiest that I've read by this author. This book had me smiling so hard, just absolutely loving the romance, and my only complaint is that I was left still wanting more. 2 s Lindsay2,224 509

Initially I gave this 5 stars, and while I did really enjoy the book, my initial reaction was the fact that Logan and Rachel didn't break up due to the science ball bet/pool. Because honestly, I was really worried about that part of the storyline. At one point, I almost put the book down because I was afraid it was going to go there and I just didn't have the heart to watch that happen to Logan. He was such a good guy and I just wanted all the good things for him.

I loved how this book ended up playing out. So often when you have a jock/tutor storyline, the jock doesn't take the tutoring seriously. But in this case, Logan has tried tutoring before and had no luck, so he asked for the big guns in Rachel. And he actually took tutoring seriously. He paid attention. He worked hard. He paid attention. I loved how that went against the grain of these types of stories. 2 s Sarah~ Book Obsession Confessions1,111 77

This book is such an engaging, clever, thoughtful and fun story!
The author flipped a few common tropes over and made them fresh, heartfelt and super swoony. And, it is probably the spiciest book I’ve read of her’s.
Rachel and Logan are opposites. The chemistry introvert and the outgoing football player. The tutor and the guy struggling academically. Common and enjoyable tropes,in this book the characters don’t fall into cliches or simple boxes. It’s unexpected and refreshing.
They both are undeniably endearing, adorable and surprisingly naughty in the best ways. Their chemistry is so delicious and outstanding.
I absolutely ADORE this story and characters. Every time an ex shows up or there’s a conflict I was not expecting how it would play out, that’s a huge plus. I love being pleasantly surprised.
The writing is sharp, emotional and entertaining.
The characters are amazing on their own and together they make butterfly inducing magic.
I absolutely adore Rachel and Logan, their interactions are so multifaceted. It is such a feel good book without being too “sweet” or formulaic. It’s smart and emotional.
If you love New Adult romance, if you want something swoony and spicy. If you want awesome characters that make you smile this is the book for you. I can’t praise it enough, it’s really special!2 s Drea1,291 16

I love Ginger Scott’s writing. She’s such an excellent storyteller. This is the first book I’ve read of hers in a long time and I’m kicking myself for not keeping up to date with her books! I read the blurb to this and knew I needed to read this.
