Hugh was an erotic dancer when the wealthy Jack picked him up in an Atlanta club. They had several good night stands, and at one point Jack asked Hugh to move and live with him in California, which Hugh accepted. Once there, Hugh was introduced to Jack's friends, Mike and Danny, who were a couple. This triggered a stress on Hugh's part since he and Mike had some history. Mike didn't forget, and kept hitting on Hugh. The meeting made Hugh wonder if Jack would ever forgive him if he uncovered Hugh's secret from the past...

There are several things I dis in my m/m stories:

- A chick-with-a-dick story
- damsel in distress
- completely imbalance relationship where one supplies everything and the other just spends his time in country club as a kept man. Hugh was angry when at first Danny called him Jack's boy toy. Yet, he's treated exactly that.
- keeping secret that is basically nothing, just there for cheap angst. The secret is that Mike and Hugh had a night stand in Florida long time ago, before Hugh met Jack. Hugh was afraid that since Mike was Jack's friend and Danny's spouse, they'd be angry at him... Ooh... okaaay...
- every problem is 'solved' with sex (many here, and they're just meh)
- A character set up his boyfriend with a known predator. It turned out, Jack and Danny were both aware about Hugh's history with Mike. Mike seemed to be cheating on Danny often. So, Jack and Danny used Hugh as a bait to catch Mike's cheating by letting Mike made a move on Hugh. They completely ignored Hugh's feeling. The reason? So that Danny could get half of their belongings when he filed for a divorce from Mike. Talking about a loving boyfriend! At the end of the story, Jack proposed to Hugh. I wonder if there's a catch there.


This book hits all the above. I wonder why bother to make this an M/M story where Hugh can easily be written as a heroine by changing the name into Hilda and the pronouns.lets-lead-my-bf-into-temptation warning-damsel-in-distress whats-a-story-without-a-big-secret1 Shannon2,163 40 Shelved as 'or-not'
