I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is a new series by this author. The story begins with Ben, a highly respected lawyer from Seattle, creating an issue which has him flee to Adak Island. He has taken a job there and is just now beginning to walk around the area. One thing he discovers is that people are friendly which is different than what the city was . His neighbor Allen his neighbor invites Ben to dinner to meet some other people. Ben even runs into a postman who is also friendly. When Ben gets to what he believes is the Law office, he finds it abandoned. He goes across the street to the diner to see if there is a different location for the office. He learns that the address he checked was correct. He asks to borrow the phone to contact his boss. He learns that he is on his own. After the call he has breakfast.

That evening he goes to Allen's for dinner and when he returns back to his house, Ingrid knocks at his door. He tells Ben that he wants to hire him. Ingrid mentions that there were two bodies that were discovered, and he believes that he would be blamed. He later discovers that there a total of six bodies who were previously reported as accidental. Eventually Ingrid gets charged with all six. As the trial date approaches, Ben knows the only way to free Ingrid would be to find the real killer.

To learn who the real killer was and how a former acquaintance in Seattle played a role, then you need to read this book. Arlena3,353 1 follower

"Adak's Veiled Justice" by Freya Atwood

My Perception:
This author gives the reader a read that will keep one turning the pages. This story is loaded with well-developed characters, has many twists and turns, and leaves the reader trying to figure out the secret mystery of this legal thriller in Atdak, AL.

As you read, the reader will want to know the following...What is the dark secret that Benjamin Wolfe is haunted by? Who is this person accused of murder? Who is the serial killer, and will Benjamin be able to save his client in time?

To get all these answers and much more, you will have to pick up this good read to see how well the author reveals it all in the end. The extended epilogue adds a bit more to the story.

What a rush!

Freya Atwood is a wizard with stories. Her scenes burst into life as she weaves sights, smells, the characters, dialogue and a sense of the town itself as the tale unfolds.
Sit down, buckle up and hang on as this novel finds a tiny town in the last frontier, Alaska. A small town of 171 people who think they know their neighbors well are in for some serious shocks.

A disgraced attorney from Seattle arrived expecting a law office and work to do during his mysterious exile from the mainland. There is no law office, at least not in over ten years. With no clue what he's doing and no work, he begins to acquaint himself with the locals and then stumbles backwards into a very sinister Serial killer mystery. Six Recent deaths are ruled accidents but are they?

From the first page to the last line is pure entertainment. Happy reading. Evelyn Dotson1,799 9

Great story

Benjamin is an attorney who has been sent to Adak, an island that is not where a practicing lawyer would want to go. It is isolated, an island, Ben was sent because of something that he did that was inappropriate. When he gets there, he finds his ex girlfriend is the chief of police. He finds his first case is a man charged with murdering four people. Ingrid insists he is innocent. Can he prove the case?
