Great continuation of AnimeCon Harem

Note that this is Book 2; Book 1 MUST be read FIRST. There is just too much backstory for this to be stand-alone. The harem develops much closer bonds as the girls continue to be magically transformed into anime memes and develop deep love and respect for each other and Brian. Despicable Chloe seeks revenge but is seriously thwarted. There are more incredibly erotic scenes with amazing descriptions. The women begin to understand their unique characteristics and powers. Every new piece of fiction by FortySixtyfour impresses me further, and this novel was no exception.

It's easy to turn up one's nose at yet another harem story--and I almost did--but that would've been my mistake. The character depth and growth and interaction depicted in this series is just down-right amazing, and the harem theme simply becomes a vehicle for displaying the author's overwhelming ability to create immersive character interaction.

Every single character in this series has a starting life journey that interacts with all the other characters in different ways, and it's just awesome to read their journey with them. I usually complain, when an author has too many main characters, that it is hard to identify with any one character as *THE protagonist* because either the supposed protagonist doesn't have enough scene time to qualify or because I just don't have any one character I can really identify and empathize with, for the ride. I did not have this problem with this novel. Every character was strong, detailed, easy to identify with, and fun to ride along with.

In addition, this author managed to avoid, to a large extent, another of my pet peeves with harem fiction...the impossibility of multiple people really agreeing on anything, especially in romantic encounters, so most harem authors solve the problem with some variation of "brain-washing magic"...i.e., all the women are forced to get along by magic, or forced to fall in love with everyone else, or the magic eliminates silly jealousy obstacles, or the protag has magical lion god date-rape brain-washing magic, or whatever. Forced relationships, however well-written have always rubbed me a bit wrong, no matter how happy the individuals involved appear to be...it's a little too close to human slavery with a bow on it for my taste. THIS story presented things differently...yes, there was love magic involved but, as near as I can tell, it mainly just gave the primary characters special abilities and assisted them in figuring out that each of them held the missing puzzle pieces in each others' lives. Well, it also helped them pull off some ridonkulous sex scenes, I admit. But the point is that the entire "harem" seems to pretty much share everything and it works...they share power, flaws, teamwork, and even protagonist status. And it all works.

I couldn't stop reading, and when this book (#2 in the series) was over, I was so disappointed there wasn't a #3 out yet that I went looking over at Royal Road for the chapters not novelized yet so I could keep going. anime-manga-themed erotic harem S Seaberg143

book 1, a very involved story continued to finish a weekend at an annual anime convention. It is an in-depth study of a group of individuals who become involved and the trials and tribulations they undergo. I found it interesting however, I don’t plan to extend my time and effort to read any future installments. Brysson Torfin6

a phenomenal part two

This book is seriously amazing. Fourtysixtyfour brings a wonderful sense of character to our protagonists and manages to build a fantastic world for them to play around in. before, I absolutely love the concept of metaphors used to represent personal relationships, especially the way colors are handled in this series. Great Read
