I enjoyed both of these books, bought as one volume. A Bridge to Eternity is full of mystery, ghosts of the past and an autumn years romance. It begins with a taste of an event later in the book to keep the reader interested. In this book, two people are admitted to hospital badly injured.
In breaking through the shadows there's a lot more modern mystery, crime, love and goings on. The character in the first book back in hospital, and a number of others. Then another because of a natural illness. The story is great, and kept me captivated to the end (I worried about the dog) but I eventually thought Not another one in hospital! Bridge to Eternity and Breaking through the Shadows are both truly unputdownable, exceptional novels that everyone, female or male, will enjoy. Romola Farr is a true storyteller with a wonderful ear for dialogue. She is right up there with the best. I look forward to many more stories set in the rural town of Hawksmead. Deni166
