Loved this series

This was a great ending to a great series. Finally questions were answered and Ivy can’t go without the fight of her life. This was a great story with great characters. I’m looking forward to Prince Bastian story. 1 MaD651

4.5 stars. This last installment of the Rites of Possession series jammed packed with action, danger, trials, and a little bit of romance thrown into the mix.
The character development of Ivy and her men...and even Petra...shines in this edition. The love that Ivy, Casimir, Stavros, Alek and Rheave have for each other has matured into a cohesive unit of trust and devotion.
Rheave has struggled with his humanity and emotions but comes into his own and finally feels he belongs.
Petra grapples with her ability, qualifications and right to rule. We see her blossom and show her true strengths and convictions.
And poor Ivy, ever the outcast due to her riven status, has to make an incredibly hard decision. One that could make or break the evolution of the new world order, not to mention Ivy herself.
This book seems more drawn to the perils endured to get Petra on the throne and out of hiding from the Order of the Wild than the romance. But that's ok. The battles that Ivy, her men and allies endure are fraught with magic, danger, destruction, betrayal, and death. But their determination, dedication, trust and love flow throughout to show how far they have come. (Don't worry. There is some romance sprinkled in but artfully so at appropriate points.)
There were a few parts that seemed to drag on a bit...made it a bit tedious...the ideas could have been concluded a bit quicker to allow better flow. But overall, a wonderful closure to the series. Great job again, Eva Chase!

A highly satisfying and cathartic ending to a well-paced and well-written series.

This book very much felt a final book. All the questions had satisfying answers, the plot points all wrapped up well, and we left this series feeling that these characters would all live happily ever after. There was a lot of political intrigue in this book, more than in the previous books. But with all of it, it left me feeling that this country and these people would thrive in the future.

The romance took a back seat in this book, yet the connections between all the group members only became stronger. I especially enjoyed seeing all the interactions between the men and got to see the deep trust and support between them.

This will be a series that I will highly recommend to experienced and new fantasy romance readers. Especially for readers new to the genre, this series has everything they need to ease them into it - a well-detailed and understandable magic system, descriptive world-building without being info-dumps, characters that make understandable decisions and have relatable traits, and just enough *spice* to keep you excited about the budding romance. This would also be an excellent series for those interested in reading a why-choose romance for the first time. The romance is certainly prevalent, but it isn't the sole focus of this series. It doesn't feel taboo whatsoever.

What a perfect end to such a riveting series! I felt I was on the edge of my seat for this whole book. I’ve been eagerly awaiting the final installment in this series, and it absolutely did not disappoint!

My favorite parts of this whole series is seeing all the crazy situations Ivy and her men get themselves into and how they get out of them. If you’re me in that regard, there’s plenty that will keep you on a rollercoaster of emotions. I loved it.

Ivy is a straight bad@$$ even with all her insecurities and doubts (which are quite understandable). I absolutely love how her men’s trust and love in her is steadfast and unwavering regardless of the scenario. The utter devotion they show her is beautiful.

The way this story unfolds. All the missions and turmoil the characters embark upon and face while never giving up is inspiring. The conclusion was better than I even imagined it would be.

I have to say that Eva is quite possibly my favorite fantasy author! I’ve yet to read a book of hers that hasn’t completely gripped me and pulled me into the world. Thank you so much for sharing your books with us.
