Fantastic!!

This is another installment in the Devil’s Handmaidens MC and it continues from Off Balance where Reaper/Klay leaves River to keep her safe. This one was full of surprises, action, steam and heartbreaking moments. Reaper will do anything to get River back and he has his hands full with trying to protect his true love.

I loved how this book was a nonstop heart pounding read that made it a one sit read because I just could not put it down. I highly recommend this book for all MC lovers.

Rattled is the 2nd book in the Devil's Handmaidens MC: Alaska chapter series by E.M. Shue. This is a short second-chance secret marriage romance that reveals the betrayal surrounding Jinx and Reaper. Before reading this book you need to read Off Balance from the Pandora series to see where this relationship started.
Jinx woke up alone and married with Reaper gone he'd never been there. She went home and tried to get over the heartbreak while keeping his secrets from her club. When tragedy strikes in her hometown she moves back to Alaska with Scout to start a new chapter she's now the VP of. Reaper never left Jinx fully she thought. When his boss called and wanted him to arrest her for the murder of a sex trafficker he knew he'd protect her at all costs including staying married. With the help of his brother Titan, he's kept eyes on Jinx while trying to close all his cases so he can officially resign and be with Jinx. When he finds out she's in danger he packs up and heads to Alaska to make sure she stays safe and get his wife back. But will she forgive him for what he did?
I gave this a 3-star rating and a 4-spicy rating. I love the relationship between Jinx and Reaper, they're imperfectly perfect together. I've been waiting to read the rest of their story for a while now. My only disappointment was first that the book was so short which I could deal with until I started reading and realized the first half of the book is from Wrecked just re-written from Jinx and Reapers POV so it felt I was re-reading something I just read not to long ago. Once it got to the present and what was happening after Wrecked, it got good, and I enjoyed it. It pulled me in enough that I can't wait to read the next book Ruined to find out what happens to Stormy.

Just an FYI, this is a continuation from the Prequel “Off Balanced” (the start of the Devil’s Handmaiden’s MC, Alaska Chapter). Both are quick reads and I Strongly Recommend reading Off Balanced first as Rattled takes up where Off Balanced begins. That said, Whoo Whee what a ride. River and Reaper are quite the couple. To keep River and the girls at the Devil’s Handmaidens MC, Reaper had to tell some lies and leave River in the middle of night. River suffers from anxiety with people always leaving her and her ending up alone. The devastation she feels at Reaper's betrayal is off the charts. So when he returns it’s any but rainbows and sunshine. Throw in the danger they are all in and again I will say Whoo Whee what a ride. Can she ever understand why Reaper did what he did (sorry to be so cryptic, but I refuse to spoil these two books)? Can Reaper ever make it up to her to get back in her good graces?

I can’t recommend these two books enough. Grab them up asap, you won’t be sorry. As for this reader, she can’t wait to see what happens next in the Devil’s Handmaiden MC series.

What a page turner! I loved reading the rest of Klay and River’s story. Both of them are suffering the consequences of Klay leaving River from Off Balance.

Without giving much away, all I can say is there are alot of surprises headed their way. From Klay coming back into River’s life to River and how she is just a bada** woman. The chemistry is definitely still there. She goes through a lot in this book. Don’t forget the brooch from Off Balance that River found in Pandora. What does this have to do with anything? Wait til you find out! How will everything go down? Will Klay redeem himself and prove he can be the man for River? Will River allow Klay back into her life. How will everyone react to Klay and River being married-especially her best friend? When a few things happen to River, will Klay be able not only get to her, but be able to protect her from further harm? What happens when Snake reappears in the picture? I'm going to start out by saying that you really MUST read Off Balance first as it's the beginning to River (aka Jinx) & Klay's (aka Reaper) story. Rattled starts out with Reaper going back to get his wife back after leaving her with no goodbye, but she's definitely not an easy sell as he broke her heart. I understood to a point where he came from but still, I was so angry with him as well because he made that unilateral decision which did some damage. I'm not going to say anymore about the storyline as it's so much better to just experience it on your own. The sparks are very much present between these two, and won't be denied for too long but it's hard since there's that hurt she has about it all. There are twists coming in all over the place with a huge action filled kicker so my heart raced crazy cover to cover. I also couldn't get enough of the supporting cast who added even more to this story so I can't say enough about Rattled, and I'm so ready for more of this series! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Another great story in the Devil's Handmaidens MC!

Reaper is determined to get his wife back and prove to her that he only left her for a short period of time only to protect her. When he finds out that she is in danger and in Alaska, he heads out to get her back and show her that he meant what he said when he promised he wouldn't ever leave her.

River "Jinx" is alone again and determined to keep it that way. When she finds out that her husband has come to Alaska to get her back, she's determined to fight him and keep her secrets, but fate has other plans for both of them. When she finds herself in danger, she finally lets Reaper in to help her and protect her.

I love this story and the Devil's Handmaiden MC books. Jinx and Reaper have a very dark story, but when they finally get back together they will do whatever is needed to protect their family and loved ones. This is the second book in this series however there is another book that you should read before this one. Off Balance is the beginning of Reaper and River/Jinx’s story. The timeline of Rattled overlaps with the first book in this series a bit. Reaper and Jinx met and are quickly forced into a difficult situation. The two are attracted to each other right away. But, their forced by their situation to move their relationship very fast. Now they are reconnecting and have secrets. Jinx thought that she had lost Reaper but he had his reasons for walking away. Now those reasons are no longer keeping him away. If anything, they are the things that have him running back to Jinx. Can Jinx give Reaper a second chance? Can she risk her heart again? Reaper knows he has to earn his second chance with Jinx. Knows that she worries he will leave again. He isn’t going anywhere ever again. He will do whatever he has to earn a second chance with her. He knows she has gone back home and that he will have to move there to have that second chance. He is going to lay everything bare to her. I am loving these characters. This is the second book in this incredible series, and Jinx / River and Klay / Reaper’s journey continues straight on from the ending in “Off Balance.” Klay left River to protect her, but with her abandonment issues, will she allow him back into her life?
This is a well written action packed, emotional roller coaster, with heartbreak, danger, suspense, intrigue, undeniable chemistry, surprises, and love, which leads to an entertaining, heart pounding, unpredictable, and steamy addictive page turner, which had me on tenterhooks throughout.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This book was great and had me hooked from the start. It was full of steam, second chances, danger, and surprises. After reading 'Off-Balance ', I was excited to know what was going to happen to River and Klay. There were multiple villains they had to face with the Handmaidens and we even get hints at other stories to come in this series. I really want to find out what happened to Stormy. River and Reaper are cursed from the get go in Off Balance which leads us to Rattled and can they break the curse. While the two fight for their relationship they also have to deal with some crazy enemies that won't leave them alone and hopefully they make it out alive. There are definitely some heavy issues that are being dealt with in this book so be sure to read the trigger warning. I can't wait to see what happens in the next installment of DHMC. What a non-stop, heart-pounding read. Klay finally follows River to Alaska and things are already happening before he gets there to finally claim what he put aside earlier. Loads of action in this story and it kept me on the edge of my seat. The heart what it wants and his heart wants River. Loved the intensity and the story of these two and how it fits in with the Handmaidens overall. Always a pleasure to get lost in a book by Ms. Shue.

I have been waiting for the rest of this story about Jinx and Reaper. It is an on the edge of your seat page turner. I mean I could not get enough of them or what was going on in the story. The writing was flawless and the storyline was written well. I really d the turn of events in this book. I also d how everything turned out for these two. There's a few surprises in store as well. Book 2 in the Devil's Handmaidens series is intense, action packed, and full of grit. In my opinion, this series should be read in order to get the best experience of the characters and plot. Reaper and Jinx's story starts in Off Balance (Pandora) which was a novella, but we are first introduced to these two characters in Wrecked (book 1). Book 2 is their whole story. Reaper/Klay and Jinx/River started off super hot and heavy until Klay leaves River while she's sleeping...he has his reasons. River has abandonment issues and she refuses to let Klay back in, but a love theirs is not a love that can be stopped. As danger draws closer Klay tries to stick close to River, but River doesn't make things easy for him. Violence and abuse, heartache and love, so many emotions in this story. Gail74 3

Rattled, the conclusion to River and Klay's story, is a well-crafted book full of action and danger. The two face danger at every turn and proving who the bad guys are is sometimes challenging. Love this story

Reaper and his wife have had a rough time for sure. He found her again only to have her taken from him after finding some happiness with each other a second time. Frenetic tale revolving around River and Klay. She’s in a female MC and he’s an ATF agent. There’s a lot of action carried over from the first book. Hard to relate to characters. River hits Klay several times and that’s not OK. Still don’t know why he couldn’t have told her when he left her for 8 months, what he was doing. That made no sense. Cindi75

E.M. Shue is an outstanding story teller who draws you into her worlds and characters. The Handmaiden’s series has been awesome to read and remember my time spent in Alaska. Yes I get to read the HEA of Reaper and jinx!! You will need to read Off Balance to get the whole story! I’m so glad that Reaper made up after he left Jinx, but I think that she made him work of it. Just love it
