First I’d to say I feel so lucky to ARC read this book! It has a great plot line and has so much potential to be an amazing series. It has monsters, romance (very slow burn btw), action and more. The world building is great, it definitely feels I am on Dullahan with Rhen and gang. But, I rate it 4 stars for one a couple of reasons. First, I feel I connect with side characters more than with the main characters, maybe that will change or maybe it’s my own fault but that’s one of my reasons it’s not five stars. Second reason, Em Livett needs a more careful editor or something because there’s typos in this book AND in the first one that just drive me up a wall.

Beyond not being able to connect with the main characters, this book is phenomenal, the plot is truly there FOR SURE. I look forward to seeing what happens in the next book because this one certainly ended on quite the cliffhanger.

PS, Athan is my favorite character and I really want to see more of him, he’s HILARIOUS.

PSS, if you enjoy a slow burn romantasy, I def recommend this book! It’s glacial slow so beware!

I WOULD LIKE TO EDIT TO ADD: flick it books has brought to the ARC readers attention that the typos HAVE been fixed seeing as it was a conversion error that caused it! This book has been made SUBSTANTIALLY better by fixing the errors!!! I love that she has heard us and found the root of the problem!! I am changing my review to FIVE STARS for that reason right there! 2 s Lu4 4

As you gear up for the what might happen might in Em’s second book of a soon to be trilogy, you are not prepared enough. At every turn of a page, you’re left with so much suspense. This second book shows character development and demise. Are they dead? Maybe. Keep flipping those pages and find out!

<3 So proud of you.

I was so excited to get to ARC read this book. I really enjoyed the plot, especially once it started picking up in the second half of the book. There's magic, monsters, and the slowest slow burn romance ever. The side characters were probably my favorite part of the book. Athan is hilarious and I really hope we get more of him in the next book. Luka is a sweet, precious angel baby and needs to be protected at all costs (preferably by Kol).

While I enjoyed the story and characters, I have to give it 4 stars because the poor editing kept taking me out of the story. It was an issue in the first book too and drove me crazy. There were a lot of typos, confusing sentence structures, and continuity issues that made it difficult to get through at times.

I will absolutely be reading the next book though, because after that cliffhanger I have to know what's going to happen next.1 Laurin Wanner130 3

** This is the second installment in a series. You need to read the first book to understand everything that’s going on (and it’s so worth it too!)**

In the second installment of The Divine Articles, Rhen faces a daunting challenge: rescuing her mother from the clutches of the Driech. Despite intense training with the Wilde Hunt, hope wanes as leads on her mother's whereabouts remain elusive. When Baz reappears, consumed by darkness, Rhen confronts her past demons while navigating conflicting emotions for Elm. Aware that her choices impact not just her friends but the world at large, Rhen grapples with the realization that her happiness might be a luxury she can't afford. Will she save her mother and halt the encroaching chaos?

2. **Characterization:** 5/5 The characters were meticulously developed throughout the story. I relished the introduction of new characters and witnessing the evolution of our old favorites.

3. **Writing Style:** 5/5 I adored the writing style; it was superb. It took me on an emotional roller coaster ride that I won't soon forget.

4. **Originality:** 5/5 This story is un anything I've ever read before. To put it simply, it's completely original.

5. **Emotional Impact and Resolution:** 5/5 This book evoked a myriad of emotions from me; laughter, tears, and frustration. The ending left me craving for more—I need book 3 immediately.

6. **Smut:** 4/5 While the attention to detail was evident, it leaned more towards frustration than enjoyment. It was decent, but the resolution left something to be desired.

Overall score: 4.83/5

If you this book, the obvious suggestion is that you read ACOTAR by Sarah J Maas. If you’re looking for something different, I suggest you try Powerless by Lauren Roberts or the Covenant series by Jennifer L Armentrout. Sally May57 4

This book was great. It took me a couple of days to read it because of life and kids, but I loved it. Elm and Rhen are killing me with their whole hot and cold attitudes toward each other because they're both too afraid to admit their feelings for each other. And I still can't figure out how Baz will fit into that little love Triangle because she can't kill him off or not let him have his happy ending, right? Oh, and the whole story at the end with Kol and Jules had me in tears. I had to go hug my husband and make him promise not to ever die on me. Anyways, 5 stars for this book. I can't wait for the next one. Brandee Paschall11 2

Once again I am left speechless by Livett, and once again my heart has not only been ripped from my chest but shattered into a million tiny pieces. No one quite does fantasy Em Livett and I can’t wait to see where our heroine goes next on her adventure.

Filled with handsome twin brothers, rivalry, romance, emotional damage, and more magic and folklore than you can count on two hands…CAC will leave you breathless and reeling for that next page!
