In the heart of the South, secrets and betrayals are as overgrown as the lush plantation gardens…

When Sue, owner of the small tavern on the plantation grounds, offers Sara not only a place to stay but a chance to own the business, Sara sees her first thread of hope.

In Plantation Underworld we meet Sarah when she tours the MAC MILLER plantation she meets and makes friends with the owner of The on site restaurant Sue. They become such good friends when Sue wants to sell the café Sarah buys it. I am going through this review quickly because this is a long and sometimes I got bored with the drinking and some of it almost felt repetitious. Sarah thinks every good looking man is the love of her life and sleeps with a lot of them despite her lack luster performance during it. She even brings one home after dating him over her three day vacation and let him help her run the business and he does almost into the ground. Not that Sarah knows how to run a restaurant because she is aBismal add it and leaves it to her weight staff to deal with the day-to-day and accounting whenever someone brings up an issue she just hires someone else to 10 to the problem. If she needs money… No problem she just takes it from the stash she is holding for a man in prison or ask her daddy. She drinks too much nothing is ever her fault will Sarah ever get it together find the one and run a successful money making business? As I said this book is pretty long but because it is I started almost feeling sorry for Sarah although she is full of excuses and desperately wants love and ultimately not a bad person except for the things I have mentioned and the side hustle she wants to start on the nice country plantation. I think anyone who s literary fiction will enjoy this book, I myself do not. Sarah does face some hard situation throughout the book and proves to be a tough cookie but the worst and most devastating doesn’t come until almost 3/4 of the way into the book if you can make it that far and you may enjoy this book as I said ultimately you do you feel sorry for Sarah and the author is such a good writer she really knows how to create a personality because no one is 100% good all 100% bad and she really has a knack for bringing that out in her characters. I love that Laura and her mom and Sue not to mention throughout the book one another plantation is mentioned we get the history of their family their interactions marriages children ET see so if this sounds a good book to you then you should read it I’ve finished it but it’s not my usual type of book. Please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.book-sprout Sue1,066 71
