BREAKDOWN AT CLEAR RIVER. ELIOT PARKER
This novel is a murder mystery and a taut suspense with a message about steroid use. Football is everything to some students and they will use anything to give them a competitive an edge. But there is a double-edged sword in that sometimes it will kill and brings out unsavory elements. Two students attempt to expose the story behind a student’s death and are threatened thus. Mr. Eliot has used his knowledge of football and has also done his home work about steroids to make this a relatable tale.
I gladly give BREAKDOWN AT CLEAR RIVER 5 touchdowns.

Breakdown at Clear River passed the ultimate test for me, in that I lost sleep because I could not put it down. The story is engaging and character development is solid. Being a seasoned mystery reader I was even pleasantly surprised with the outcome. As an added bonus it's set in West Virginia, my home state. Mr. Parker does a fantastic job painting a vivid picture of football and college politics in this story that shows the darker side of college athletics.

The only negative that I can mention is it seems that the text could use some editorial work and be cleaned up a bit. Minor things words running together that are easily fixed, it does not by any means detract from a great story.mystery Brian TuckerAuthor 9 books67
