Say Yes de Donna Hill

de Donna Hill - Género: English
libro gratis Say Yes

Sinopsis

Donna Hill returns to the beloved characters she introduced in If I Could with this poignant, insightful story of a woman who dares to say no to a loveless existence. . .and yes to the challenges and pleasures of living life on her own terms.
Regina Everette never expected things to be simple when—to the shock of everyone around her—she walked away from her empty marriage. Of course, she never expected to find real love waiting around the corner, either. Now that she's with Parker Heywood, she knows what true happiness feels like. Still, it comes with a price. Her children want their father to be the only man in her life, and he's determined to win Regina back. Parker has his own obligations, too: a teen daughter who wants to be the first, and only, woman in his life. With everyone outside the relationship seemingly bent on pulling them apart, their love will be put to the ultimate test. But through it all, Parker is willing to stay by Regina's side forever. . .if she will only say yes.
"[A] spellbinding story that will give any reader or book club plenty to talk about!"

This book actually follows three women; Regina is divorced but in a relationship, and the other two are married. It’s different from a falling-in-love kind of romance, and the issues faced by the women are different from that of initial love. I d that aspect. Unfortunately, beyond that, it was just okay. Regina was fairly developed, but the other two women weren’t. It could have been three separate books, one for each of the women, which would have provided time to develop their stories/issues AND all the ‘extra’ characters (including their husbands and lovers), which were flat and cliché. The author could have done so much more with racial issues (I kept sort of expecting them, but they never came, not even for the kids). Also, there were some editing issues and point-of-view shifts in the middle of scenes.1 Yashari Glenn75 1 follower

Reads a soap opera

I gave this book two stars because the story peaked and then gets slow to read. I didn't care for Victoria story at all. It dragged at the end and finding myself skimming over paragraphs to get to the point. This is a just ok book.1 KAREN MCCRAW883 1 follower

Loved the way three stories were told in one book

The way Ms. Hill put this together was very entertaining and addressed a lot of different issues. The stories also kept me guessing on the outcome. Janis Williams4

Quick, Interesting, engrossing

Anytime a book grabs my attention from the beginning and keep s it throughout the book it will get a good review. It's very well written, good story line and a ending. I would recommend Say Yes to anyone that enjoys a great story that holds your interest. Destinee3 Read
