First, the MC is almost relentless with the sarcasm for the first two-thirds of the book. For a D&D and computer gamer, the MC expects monsters to act as portrayed by TSR, and unsurprisingly, they behave that way. Okay. Others might be okay with the cutting remarks, but I wasn't impressed.

Turns out the elves are bigots and rather insular, not only to our human MC, but to other elf sub races as well.

The wood elves are expert with bows and melee fighting, but are easily outwitted by a simple diversion, and no one bothered with putting up a palisade to protect the village after how many years of fighting? More, all the important places to travel are easily reached by walking a couple of days. Mines and swamps only take a couple of hours to traverse -- as in a computer game. There supposedly more wood elf villages, but no others are mentioned.

The fight at the end, which the MC was losing, suddenly reversed, came out of nowhere. There was little group cohesion until nearly the end. Whenever the MC suddenly had weapon skills, he should at least been curious. Nope. When he was healed, he was naked and given a shirt and pants. Footwear wasn't mentioned. Repeatedly.

Do they even have a village to return to? The evil oglocks ate bags of wood elf mush.

Editing was mostly good, though could stand some work. Changes in speaker or topic should trigger a new paragraph but instead were merged, burying the impact in scene after scene.

I wanted to this, but this didn't come across as a viable world (and came across as a small county), mixed in with inexplicable events or excessive snark. Unanswered questions would have been fine (leading to sequels), but the MC didn't even bother asking them. I'm being generous with 4 stars.1 Bert Babb396 6

Usual isekai story about a nerd summoned to an elven world

The nerd gets stabbed before being transported to an elven world as a savior called the Arkala. Of course he has no magic and gets in trouble, though he suddenly has martial skills from nowhere, with no training. He's sent on a mission through the forrest with some food, weapons and a map, but no woodcraft, or idea of whats benign or dangerous. He just staggers from dangerous situation to dangerous situation, relying on luck to get him and his party through. He certainly has neither skills nor a plan yet he jumps into danger without thought repeatedly. Of course his two companions jump his bones along the way.

Finally, after winning combat via a deus ex machina the book ends in a bizzare revelation thats just weak. The best thing about this book is the cover art. Jeff43

Some of the most cringey, cheesy writing I've read in some time. I imagine some animes are written this. Dude keeps saying how normal he is then acts and talks he thinks he's an invincible superhero, repeatedly and desparately trying to throw his life away at every opportunity.

He's a bumbling, clumsy, awkward moron and his preferred method of seducing women is to open his mouth wide and alternate staring between their breasts, asses and vaginas. Because that's not creepy and turns women on right?

He gains elite fighting skills and good athleticism but he thinks nothing of it. So many things make no sense.

Stick with the elf hotties and tone down the eye-roll inducing bullshit and stupidity and this would be a good series. Alan875 3

Isaac a college student meets a female college student an is seduced to believe that she is interested in him but it is only a ploy to get her bully boyfriend to attack Isaac for entertainment, an her bully boyfriend to attack Isaac for personal reasons from high school, an being Isaac's bully from high school some things never change . He ends up stabbing Isaac an killing him in a alley .
