The Second Chance Groom Series is a clean and wholesome historical romantic suspense. It will keep you on the edge of your seat, and have you turning the pages with mystery, and a sweet romance. Although part of a multi-author series, this book is completely standalone and unrelated to the other books.

Simeon Stone planned to get his law degree, practice a few years in the East, and then move westward. His fiancé, Celia, was in complete agreeance with that plan. She even followed him to Coopers Crossing, Iowa as Simeon built their future home and his law office.

“Yep, all is right with the world, a new practice, a lovely fiancée, and the world at my feet.”

The story’s plot will have Simeon devasted by Celia’s betrayal. To leave him standing at the altar, in front of the town and their new friends. But then to let him know she is going to marry his old college friend is another sting.

“I thought love could conquer anything; I guess I was wrong.”

Slowly Simeon will recover from the shock of Celia. When Joe’s sister moves back to Coopers Crossing, she is bold, and assertive, and sparks something in Simeon. Addy is no pushover and helps Simeon want more in life again.

“I think this is the start of something wonderful.”

What happens when Celia breezes back into town crying foul and begging Simeon for help? But she expects him to just take her back too. Now, Simeon is caught between the love of his past and the new love of his present. He is confused, and that leads to heartache and pain for Addy.

The story has secrets, mystery, and suspense that slowly will unfold. Not everything is as it seems with the good, the bad, and the deceitful in people. Simeon is somewhat of a wishy-washy man and didn’t win points with me. He made it easy for Celia to walk all over him, and she did. Addy is left feeling a second choice because of his actions. With Simeon claiming that he loved Celia, and is unsure about how he feels now, and Celia claiming they are back together just leads to more trouble. Will Simeon see the two faces of Celia before it is too late? Reading Romancing the Attorney, you will not the character, Celia. Poor Simeon is left at the alter, when Celia decides she can't live in this little town. Simeon is heartbroken and it will take awhile for his heart to mend. His best friend Joe's little sister, Addy arrives in town. Simeon doesn't know what to make of this woman, with so much spunk. Could she be the one that he has been looking for all his life? Will he get a second chance at love. On no, Celia is back in town. Now how much more trouble can she bring with her. You have to read this amazing story to find out.

Love conquers all

Simeon has a very rocky and heartbreaking road to love and happily ever after, he is a very sweet character - which Ceila takes advantage of, there are not enough words for my dis of her. He struggles to regain his faith and his life and both he regains thanks to the vivacious and funny Addy. She overwhelms him initially, but he quickly realises that whilst she is full of energy and life, she is still kind, thoughtful and generous, she doesn't bully or use emotional blackmail to get her way, she is real and true. She is exactly what he needs to show him how life should be lived.
I also really Ida and Joe, both individually and as a couple, Joe is a true gent who takes the time Ida needs, and is hurt and angry for the suffering she has experienced. He shows her the respect she is due, and his love allows her to grow in confidence.

This is an unusual Second Chance love for two special couples. Joe, the young barber falls or Ida the school teacher and Simon the new attorney song with his betrothed are getting married. I enjoyed the book! Simeon was left at the altar and was devastated. Adeline came to Coopers Crossing to be with her brother. She helps Simeon over his melancholy but then the unthinkable happens! You’ll have to read the book to find out! I highly recommend reading this book! Patsy62 2

Finding real love

I loved this, in that two friends each found true love together in this one story. Although, Simeon was a bit dense throughout the book…
The ending was very sweet.
