This story provides the reader with a little bit of everything! Nyree Metcalf thinks she is lined up to face her future when it all starts spinning around and presenting new challenges. Twenty years before this, the reader is taken to a clearing where a practitioner of dark magic, Dietrick, was basking in his successful trickery of a local coven. He had tainted the wine he provided and pretended to celebrate with them when, in actuality, he had weakened their powers. So as his evil chanted, he pointed his staff at the now unprotected coven of witches and warlocks, and killed them off, the ground opening to pull their dying souls into its depths while he and his laughed. But their turn was coming as he pointed his staff at his own people and killed all of them as he drained their power for himself.

The story returns to the present, where Nyree looks for her boyfriend, Keith, who always seemed to be late. He was supposed to join Nyree and Anna but has again let her down so they started on the pizza without him. She caught a glimpse of a guy watching her at the edge of the quad. He pretended to look away, but she would not allow a stalker to ruin her day and approached him… but he was gone. So now she moved to the next problem – where was Keith? She headed to his dorm. He did not answer her knock, but she heard movement and was furious – and somehow the door blew open and she saw Keith and a female she didn’t recognize in bed together. Books started to fly around the room, the door forcefully opening and closing from some sort of tornado, and she felt the power coming from herself! Then she passed out. Her future is about to go in a new direction. Will she find out about her past? Will she realize she has magic within her? Will her black cat, Rave, have some huge surprises for her? And how does Dylan fit into her life? The danger is all around her and she needs to figure out who she can count on as Dietrick’s following continues to grow even darker and more deadly.

"Witches Sweet Revenge" proved to be an exhilarating and immersive read, offering a refreshing take on the world of magic and mystery. Nyree, the central character, emerges as a compelling protagonist, bringing originality and depth to the narrative.

The fast-paced nature of the book made it impossible to put down; I found myself completely engrossed and finished it in one sitting, yet yearning for more. As everything changes for Nyree, the reader is swept along on her journey of self-discovery and intrigue. With shifting alliances and hidden agendas, the question of who can be trusted looms large, adding layers of suspense to the story.

Dark magic, light magic, and enigmatic shifters populate the richly imagined world of the novel, with Nyree navigating this newfound reality with remarkable poise. Despite her youth, she rises to the occasion, aided by the support of her friends and family as she delves deeper into the mysteries surrounding her.
