Dani Wyatt makes a return with her latest release, Tempting the King—a standalone romance full heat, over-the-top romance, and an obsessive love from her MMC. Although the book started off slow in the beginning, it quickly picked up once Emee and King had their first true meeting. I d that Emee was incredibly independent and had issues with not being in control due to past trauma. Unfortunately for her, meeting King threatened everything including her livelihood, control, and future. This was one of those opposites attract romance because while Emee was a rule follower, King had anger issues, was prone to violence, and embodied everything that was chaos. The story begins with them as therapist and patient but quickly spiraled out of control because King was determined to possess Emee and demanded everything from her.

“Give it all to me. All that sweetness. Lose control for me, baby. When you’re with me, I take care of everything.”

In the end, this was an incredibly spicy and short romance between two characters who were able to overcome their past trauma and find love with each other. King was a dirty talker and I was completely enamored over his obsessive and possessive love for Emee. He was simply crazy and unhinged for her, which made for an entertaining read. The bit with Emee's brother was somewhat frustrating to read because he was clearly taking advantage of her but I was happy with how they were able to resolve it in the end. I'm hoping that the author will write a book for Victor Kozlov, King's best friend and teammate, because he was interesting and had a lot of personality. If you are looking for a quick and dirty romance featuring likable characters and plenty of steam, you won't be disappointed with this book!

King is Hot...

I just finished reading a new release, TEMPTING THE KING by Dani Wyatt. It is opposites attract, grumpy hockey player, steamy romance. I was blushing or I'd be laughing over the shenanigans.

King Hertzof is the best hockey player on the team, but he has also been angry at the world since his birth. He has such a short fuse it is microscopic. His latest over the top temper tantrum has gotten him suspended for two or up to five games with the playoffs coming up. He also must go to an anger management therapist before he can return to the team that desperately needs him. King must show up on time to that therapist the next morning. She is a professional cuddlist. I never knew there was a person that heals you by touch! Fate must have decided that she was the one to heal a messed-up hockey player. The night before his first appointment, he's out to dinner when he sees a most beautiful woman in a sexy red dress. She is in a bad dilemma. She'd been on a date, but it seems her date had a wife and she'd just had shown up. The red dress poor innocent girl was now being blamed for the husband's infidelity, plus being called nasty names, and the wife was going crazy on her. King couldn't stand them picking on this most beautiful woman and jumped right into protect her. So, she slipped out the door while they were in a brawl. King went everywhere to find her, because in his chaotic way of thinking he had saved her, so she was now his. Fate must have been on his side, because the next morning when he went in for his mandatory appointment, guess who is his cuddlist. It was his girl that had worn the red dress the night before. This book was so good.. It has everything I needed. There was instalove, sassy FMC, obsessed MMC, drama and great spicy scenes. Added bonus is that its a sports romance.. Which I'm loving right now!!
King is an over the top, grumpy alpha who will do whatever it takes to keep his woman safe and happy. He goes to the extreme but its done out of love.
Emee is a cuddler and she's dang good at her job. She enjoys helping people and is determined to help King with his anger and impulsive issues. What she doesn't count on is him being..well him..he's a mixture of things she loves and hates. Will they figure out a way to compromise and see what the future can bring? Can she help him when he needs it?
Can he save her when she gets into trouble? Will he go too far in trying to protect her?
