Three things:
1.) descriptive BDSM
2.) F/F (occasionally F/F/M)
3.) smut

At its finest, I may add. *lol*

It was a "pleasure". ;-P

Parts of this book were good, others were a bit of a train wreck. I love erotica, normally have no issue with BDSM; but all the marking, biting/bruising, claiming "Mine" Mommy play, fisting, DP, pegging, MF, FF, MFF scenes overwhelmed the story.

I've tagged this as taboo due to Violet's backstory of incest. I almost threw the towel in when I read this. "My dad came in my room, furious that I'd told mom. He was even more pissed that she'd told him that if he wanted to fuck me, he could just do that from now on. He said he didn't want me anymore either..."

While two of the main character are in a lesbian relationship, Em is bisexual and there are several brief scenes of her fucking men in the ass, as she was so apt to say. Toward the end, there's some hardcore MFF action as well, story this is not strictly lesbian.

This is a book you'll either dig, or not. All I can say is approach with caution.

I have a difficult relationship with BDSM stories. I have no experience whatsoever in this world, but I admit that I am curious about it, at least, up to a certain level. I feel highly detached from the parafernalia (leather, sexual clothing, collars, etc) and some of the language and attitudes (Mistress, Mommy, Kneeling, etc), but I do enjoy reading about the D/S dynamics and roleplaying.

When reading BDSM stories I usually find myself enthralled and envious of the extreme level of intimacy and trust that BDSM couples develop in these stories. I also admire the fact that sexual intercourse between lovers is rather frequent but usually not gratuitous, as it is usually described as a bonding ritual and, therefore, essential to understand the development of the characters and their relationship. This book did not disappoint on those aspects, at least at the beginning, and I found myself devouring the first pages where the main couple initiates the relationship and bonding process.

However, once the trusting and bonding relationship of this couple is more or less accomplished, which happens at the very first 25% of the book, this story suddenly becomes boring (no drama, no angst) and ends up in a complete disaster when the characters and their relationship development become ruined at the last 25% percent of the book. I cannot not go into much detail on this issue without providing spoilers but, what I can say is that both the characters and their relationship start behaving in the complete opposite you would have expected, and that the story becomes completely contradictory and inconsistent. Which is a shame because I really d the writing style of this author.

Yeah, Ok I don't think FF is my thing. I still love this authors storytelling though so I'll be checking out her future works.

The book is so spectacular at first, the scenes between Em and Violet totally enthralled me. It was so alluring, so sexy, and so hot.

Then near the end, it all came crashing down.

First, I felt awkward about the "Mommy" part. I'm pretty sure my smile disappeared once Violet decided to call Em as "Mommy" instead of "Mistress". Possibly because I Em as a demanding Domme instead of a nurturing one. When Em was first introduced, the author already established a non-nurturing, aggressive personalities for her.
Same with Violet, she was totally and completely a sub at first, and out of nowhere, she changed, she became a Domme during her pregnancy, then her attitude became less and less of a sub. Perhaps I just don't take change well, especially when the author already established certain personalities for the characters in the beginning.

All of the above actually still okay for me.

I didn't complain much about it until the threesome happened. Out of nowhere, it started getting out of hand when they decided to have a baby for Violet. Yeah...it irked me a bit.

Ok, I'm not complain much about the threesome either (even though this is in a lesbian novel list)- I understand that Violet wanted a baby, so...it still a bit okay for now.

BUT then...it started to really really really got out of hand when they are once again, having another threesome while being DRUNK. Suddenly Eric used the whip better than Em, then the bet happened. Em don't even remember what happened after that, then she got pregnant. Argh!! How could she brush it off just that?

Plus, the fact that both Em and Violet totally enjoyed their sessions with Eric...umm, I don't know what to say, something indeed bothered me right there. Thank goodness, the book already near the end, so I just hurry up and finished it fast. Because I totally lost interest in the story at that point.

In other words, here the list of what happened:

The main couple already established the idea that:
"No, we don't to share"
"I am a good Domme, one of the best and extremely skill with the whip"
"She's a totally submissive, my little baby girl, who afraid of being penetrate because of her past trauma."

Then it suddenly turns into this:
"Let do a threesome, yeah, it's for the baby, but we should enjoy it too"
"Actually, I might being a sub, I lost a lot of my authority at the end, and I lost to Eric at aiming my whip despite how he is more drunk than I am."
"She suddenly wanted to dominate me, she is no longer hyperventilate while being penetrate, in fact, she loves it...she loves it too much."

Lastly, here is what truly bothered me the most!
Violet's father and mother totally got away with what they did. Freaking hell, the father technically raped both of his daughters while the mother knew but ignored it. Wow, wow!! I am so wanna toss them both into prison, totally not satisfy for me at all.
Violet technically got raped by other men too, though she did said she could broke away if she wanted to. So I don't know what to say...considered how having sex in this book is such a common thing that it doesn't matter anymore.

...am I being too nice for giving this a three stars? I know I am very critical, and I felt a lone soul to be the only one complaining about this. But ugh!

The jealously in this book is too low! (I never jealously in a romance, but to think there is a day when I typed this statement...it spoke volumes)
If it was me, I will totally not amuse when someone else is having sex with my lover, and my lover enjoys it a lot. Yeah, I'm just not that type. Just Em in the beginning, I don't to share.

There are just so many changes and inconsistencies in this book. The dynamics and the alone scenes between Em and Violet are what made this novel good for me. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to enjoy it. I love it when Em doesn't care for public performances. Especially the restroom stall scene and the hallway scene- they are lascivious, those moments totally turned me on. It helped that Violet is an exhibitionist, and Em is able to make witty remarks against those that are gawking.

I BDSM. I lesbians. I sex. This book was about a love that developed between two women within a BDSM relationship. What's not to right?

Ah, I really don't know what it was about this book. I should have loved it but I didn't.

For the first time ever, I found myself skipping past the sexual encounters. There's only so much pussy licking and clit pinching I can read before I get bored and it gets tedious. The sex scenes were all a bit rinse and repeat for me.

I've decided I don't Domme stories. I don't feel that she exuded the authority or the intimating atmosphere that a good Dom can. That's not a criticism of this book, it's just my own personal preference.

While the book was well written, I felt it lacked a good substantial storyline.

I'm giving this book 3*. That's pretty much for the first few sex scenes, until the yawns set in and for being a bit different.gifted-books5 s Philomena Callan Cheekypee3,917 405

Wow this is a thoroughly enjoyable and oh so hot read.

I really don't want to say much more than the synopsis tells you. The synopsis gives you enough to tease yet this book is so much more. Love Em and Violet. These characters are wonderful.

This is a really hot book. Be warned its an f/f read with maybe a few m/f/m scenes:) It's a hot erotic bdsm story that I was glued to.
Thankfully this is a standalone with no cliffhanger. However there is a sequel that I really need to read as soon as possible:)5 s Ruthie Taylor3,665 38

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."

This is a really good read. It is a standalone which could definitely be expanded upon, as there are a group of interesting side characters (not so subtle request to Ms Cole!). I loved the pace, the tone, the people, the situation. It was neither sickly sweet, nor unduly harsh; the drama was not extreme, the caring and love developed and drew in both the characters and the reader. There was comedy in the form of Peanut; family drama on both sides, but most of all a hot, sexy relationship between two very different women. Fabulous telling of a story about two people falling for each other with a BDSM world. Great couple of twists thrown in for good measure.

This undoubtedly has made its way onto my reread pile, and I shall be checking out other books by this talented author.

This was really working for me, and it was exactly what I was looking for, right up until the last chapters. Then things just got weird and very very uncomfortable.

Honestly if you’re planning to read this, my tip to you would be to stop after chapter 17. It would have been much better, cause everything that happens after that completely contradicts everything the two mains have done and said up until that point.

And then don’t even get me started on the penis rudely, suddenly and completely unnecessarily inserted into the lesbian relationship I was promised. But, I guess that one is on me, I should have read the warnings in the other first.

There’s also multiple major time skips and it doesn’t even touch on the major issues that arises when a friend fucks you to get you pregnant, freaking twice!! There’s just way too much character growth left out and way to many interactions missing. It all felt rushed and insensitive.

Those last two chapters left a sour taste in my mouth, and is the reason my rating of this book fell from a clear 5* to barley there 2*

Mistress M,(Em) is a professional Dominatrix who works in a BDSM club in Philly. When she attends a convention in Vegas she run into a friend that offers her an opportunity she can't pass up. When decides to move to Reno, she knows instantly that she has made the right decision. Especially since that decision has her seeing more of Violet. She watched Violet (a submissive) scene with Eric in Vegas and she's been unable to get Violet out of her head.

This is a very sweet love story. I enjoyed it the whole way through. It is a very erotic story. The character development had me invested. I am not new to reading BDSM books, but this is the first F/F I have ever read. I did find the use of "Mommy" to be a little weird, but it didn't distract me too much from the story line.

This is the first book by this author for me I think it was done very well. I can't wait to read more by Ms. Cole. I loved Eric and Colton and I am hoping that the hinting to another book involving Mary lets me see more of Colton!

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Yes, Mistress is a lovely piece of erotic BDSM fiction. Very early on Mistress M tells us that sex isn't love. When I read that I knew this book would be good.

Told from the point of view of M, a dominatrix and a woman who group up in a well to do family, the story takes us from a point in M's life where she is single and care free to a wonderful end she did not see coming.

As this is erotica there are many love scenes and while the story does have its ups and downs it doesn't have huge amounts of drama.

There only drawback for me was Violet calling M Mummy. For me that was a little creepy. It is explained why this is done but I still struggled with it. Aside from that I really enjoyed this story and I'm hoping the author is planning to write Colton's book for us.

I enjoyed this story.
Em and Violet were a lovely couple with some pretty hot sex .
I d the progression of their relationship over the years. There was low angst, and no real drama which made for a nice easy love story.

Warning for those looking for lesbian only erotica, this has fmf and ffm scenes (two scenes in total) from about 70%, as well as a few F/m scenes as part of Em's job as a Dominatrix.

There is also some switching which threw me off. It lowered my rating. I did not enjoy that scene, even though it was short. It didn't prevent me from enjoying the rest though.

Some minor editorial issues. But nothing to jar me from the story.

I am interested in the M/f book that follows, and will look more into this authors collection.

While it wasn't Pulitzer prize winning writing, obviously, it was brilliant. I rarely read smut but this one intrigued me and I am glad I took the leap and read it.

There should however be a trigger warning on this book, and no that is not a spoiler people; it's about warning people who might be triggered. So that aside, totally worth the read. The characters were adorable and very likable.

The plot rushed but yeah it's smut. :) LOVED IT!!1 Karen601 16

My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Stars

In all honesty, I don't go for FF novels, but I will read them if they're written well. NJ Cole has crafted Yes, Mistress so nicely that I have no complaints at all and would even say it's given me warm, fluffy feelings. Surprise!

Normally when "Domme" is mentioned, people think of women with male submissives - well at least I do. Having not read the blurb of this novel (I'd been asked to review the series' second installment, Yes Master, and wanted to do the first as well), I was a bit surprised when it turned out to be an FF. While it's not my usual, the great love and compassion between these two women made it real for me.

Em is an exceptionally strong woman who lives life on her own terms. She's completely the opposite of her society matron mother, dictates the terms of her employment, and is a respected, educated Dominatrix. When she finds out new conditions of her job she's not agreeable to, she turns around and invests in a new club in a different state. So far, life is working out just fine. Until she locks eyes with a sub who she feels inexplicably drawn to.

Violet is a shy, unassuming sub who considers herself little better than a pain whore. While she's not abused at the club by the two Doms who run it, Em instantly senses an abusive background affecting her outlook on living. Violet is similarly attracted to the new Domme and makes a decision to take a chance.

Despite M's tough exterior, Em herself is a warm individual to the point of giving Violet whatever she needs to be happy. From bringing in a member of her family to her home to standing up to Violet's abusers, there is that protective streak making itself very obvious that there is a deep sense of care for her sub. This goes beyond the casual Domme/sub relationship because Em is willing to explore any and all options to make her Violet happy. It's not just the intimate physical actions that matter for Em but Violet's emotional and psychological happiness, too.

To fulfill Violet's greatest wish, Em even brings in outside help. Twice. Considering the tone of the story, this twist wasn't truly a surprise for me but more of an affirmation of what one partner will give up for another. Beautiful? Hot? Erotic? Yes, yes, yes. Extremely sweet would describe Em's actions perfectly. Not what everyone imagines for a Domme, but it's a reaction that I would agree with perfectly.

I fell in love with Colton and Eric, though. Eric is such a generous man (yeah, horny too, ok) and caring enough for people to push Em and Violet together. He tries to fulfill the role Violet asks of him and Colton in the beginning but is wise enough not to push her and wiser yet to know where her comfort lies. I wonder what his story will be?

Colton's story is next in Yes, Master and I can't wait to get my hands on it! There's not too much about him in the first installment but I can also see that he's another kind man, albeit a little more forceful than Eric as a Dom.

All in all, Yes Mistress is a beautifully crafted novel with a varied mix of erotica, drama, and romance. Of course there are plenty of hot scenes and quite a few BDSM ones too, but in no way does NJ Cole overshadow the story with sex. This is a book I could read over and over again; in fact, I already did!abuse bdsm ff ...more1 Heather1,506 52

I can't say that f/f stories are out of my comfort zone because I do enjoy them. To say they are outside of my current norm is probably pretty accurate since I am more drawn to m/m relationships. I would say that D/s books are on the fringe of my comfort zone. I read them, I enjoy them, however I don't really seek them out. Truth be told, I just love a great story with interesting characters, settings that I can see in my mind, and well written, intriguing plots. The sex of the characters in the relationships are not a determining factor when it comes to liking or not liking a book. So as I prepared to write this review, I sat down and wondered would I have the same feelings if it had been a m/m or f/m relationship? Yes, I would. I found this story to be amazing. I eagerly awaited Yes, Mistress because of how much I loved Miss Cole's previous writings. I was not disappointed. The chemistry between Em and Violet didn't just exist in their D/s relationship, it also shined through in their connection as women, friends, and lovers. This author is already on my authors-must-read list but if she wasn't, Yes, Mistress would definitely cement her place on it.

I have to admit that all the characters grabbed hold of my heart so deeply that I wouldn't mind seeing them star in their own stories. Just wanted to throw that out there in case Miss Cole is taking requests for future tales (hint, hint).1 Diverse1,178 51

This was a hauntingly erotic F/F BDSM story. In one sentence that is how I can sum it up. I don't often read F/F so to read something out of my comfort zone and actually LOVE it, is kind of huge! Em and Violet are amazing to read and to watch grow. The level of hotness was equal to the level of great story and plot! I really and truly enjoyed it. NJ Cole may just be dabbling in the F/F world but she has a great talent for it. She is an enchanting storyteller and FF, MM, MF I don't care. She writes it I'll read it!1 Nicole Baylor124 3

I serioulsy loved this book. I've never been a fan of f/f storylines but NJ Cole pulled me into this one. I felt each character was well developed. And I loved how time passed over in a few areas to develop the story without having to drag it out and add unnecessary things. And I really d how the story ended.
Now I can't wait for Yes, Master!1 Zayne615 6

Em Grayson and Violet make such a great pair in this. My only problem is towards the end. I'm not a lesbian, nor a woman, but I do have lesbian friends and they do not want anyone sticking dicks near vaginas. They just don't get turned on from it and they are not attracted to any men. They're attracted to solely women, so when Violet says she thinks she's a lesbian and then has sex with Eric (one of their dominant friends) it just isn't really realistic, unless she's bisexual and just doesn't say it, I would've rather it been his semen in a bottle.
Other than that part, I rather d this story, I d how the progress was gradual yet not too slow or lacking in passion during sexy, or 'scene' parts.
I also thought it was surprisingly fun and their were moments that made me laugh, moments that made me cry, and moments that were just great.

*There were some explicit depictions of rape/Sexual Violence in a few of the scenes in the middle portion of the story. Trigger warning for that.*

So well written….

From the very beginning I was hooked. I am in love with both mc’s but especially Em. She was so amazing and saw right away, “the one.” I kept looking and waiting for some angst to happen to their love. I was glad to see there was none. They didn’t deserve anything bad to come their way, especially Violet and her past.

I was a little dismayed at first when they did what they did to advance their lives. I wasn’t sure they would survive it. They did. I thought they would have problems the second time around and then…not. I was happy to see that they did take their “promises” seriously.

I am going to miss them. I see there is a second story, a sequel that showcases Violets sister. I won’t be reading that one. I’m not up for hetero kink. I’m sure that my two favorite characters may be showcased to keep their story going, but that would mean skipping a lot of the book and the story. Sorry.

I wish this author wrote more F/F centered books. Because I started this book today and finished it today. She’s that good. Lezfic Lover77

This is my first book by NJ Cole. It was highly recommended so I gave it a go. I really enjoyed it. It’s hard to find a good BDSM book...but especially difficult to find a good f/f romance that doesn’t involve too much drama and can be optimistic. I enjoyed falling in love with the characters. I wasn’t so sure about adding the Dom into the mix, but to be honest I was surprised it didn’t turn me away. I felt that his addition (sexually speaking bc there are a few male characters) was tasteful. I felt this book allowed the reader to take a deeper look into the lifestyle and attempt to understand how a D/s relationship can be nurturing and caring...beyond what Hollywood tends to depict.

The pace of the story, the dialogue, the word choices...made this such a good read. I prefer f/f novels so not sure I will read more by this author. But not because I don’t her writing. Def give it a go. It’s worth your time Clara Atkinson984 52

Yes Mistress was a powerful journey about a Domme everyone called M. She was highly regarded in the BDSM community and was always booked whenever she worked. She loved to travel to conventions and talk shop with other Dom and Dommes which is where she met up with her old friend and Dom Colton . He and his partner Eric offered her a business proposal that would cause her to have to relocate to Reno. She met an incredible submissive named Violet that turned her life upside down. Violet a submissive who craved to be dominated especially punished held a lifetime of shame and secrets behind those hauntingly beautiful violet eyes. Their story was about letting go, forgiveness, trust, understanding love and so much more. There is F/F M/F/F sex scenes. Dani Lee334 4

Where do I begin? The plot and characters are giving me 3 stars while the smut factor is a solid 4.
There's a lot to unpack with Violet alone but I guess we have to make do by taking all the tension and drama away near the end of the book. a complete 180 degree on each character's preference for the sex stuff. (domme becoming a sub and doing things they don't before etc. haha totally p*rnhub material.)
I'm a sucker for happy endings, I do, although at some point I felt I'm reading a guy's wet dream. Do I keep reading this? I don't know. but on the other hand, it's hot and erotica-wise I kinda enjoyed it. I'm confused.

3.5 stars because at least they were happy with the setup they had.

Well, there are a lot of scenes... lots of scening... seen things and read lots of stuff that will definitely make ya blush, or heat the general vicinity around you. Don't even pretend to read this near your work hahah! Also... lots of male bits sprinkled throughout the book... erecting edifices if you catch my drift so hetero pairings pop up too. Lol.

You have to be comfortable reading BDSM, be open minded when it comes to making families, be tolerant of ways of life that may look differently from your own. I enjoyed this read. The MCs had a safe, sane, consensual relationship and they worshipped each other. The writing is a bit choppy, not a lot of transition and lots of month jumping, but still fun to read! kally244 5

this book has a really beautiful representation of a bdsm relationship and dynamic.
their intimate scenes are undoubtedly very well written and realistic.
as my first f/f romance their chemistry was incredible.
but this book is inconsistent in every way.
there are chapters that are written so well that immerse you into the bdsm scene
and then there are scenes that are written my essay in first grade.
we start off with two characters that are clearly dominant and subservient on their own and end up switching when it was clear that they are not switches.
even their opinions as individuals show inconsistency.
a book that started strong and lost its quality with every chapter.the-l-word-book-edition Jackie352 5
