The Truth About Us picks up after the heartbreaking cliffhanger at the end of book 1 (The Lies About Forever). This is a great conclusion to Gabriel and Ameline's story. The Possibly Impossible duet is my favorite by Claudia Burgoa to date. Just with part 1, this story had me locked in from the first page. There is so much that has happened. Past and present events are explained, and we witness the characters dealing with real, raw, and intense emotions. The twists and turns were unexpected and made it hard to stop reading this story. I fully believe in second chances, and I'm glad Gabe got one. The Truth About Us is an amazing emotional rollercoaster. I love Claudia's writing style and her ability to immerse me in her stories and fully invest me in the characters.

Gabe’s story is complete….

An emotional roller coaster that will have readers completely invested from the start, The Truth about Us answers every question and concludes the cliffhanger from the first half of this Duet. Moments of angst, fear, anger, joy and love, Gabe is the latest Decker to gain back the other half of his soul. As always, the answer never lies with only one person, but with family, the one you are born into, the one you make yourself, and the one you join throughout different stages of your life.

The continuation of our broken couple. Gabe and Ame have spent a decade apart. Nothing has gone according to plan for them when they married but life has decided to give them a chance to work it out.

But coming to terms with what happen and forgiving each other (her more then him) and having his family try and put together the pieces they help broke, will not be easy but at the end will be worth all the heartache.

Book 1 ended with a heart stopping cliffhanger, needless to say once I downloaded this I had to read it straight away.

I loved it! Writing a review wihout giving anything away is tricky. What I will say, Gabriel has lived with the pain of not one, but two major losses. Losing the love of his life was devastating and life altering. He must learn how to navigate a tricky path, balancing work & family. Dreaming of a future he longs for and desperately wanted, knowing it slipped out of his grasp.

This is a beautiful story of finding love, forgiveness and healing. I highly recommend the duet.arc contemporary-romance hea ...more1 Patti Lucas591 12

I absolutely loved The Truth About Us by Claudia Burgoa; the second book in her Impossibly Possible Duet, a Decker Family Novel, it is an incredible conclusion to the cliffhanger love at first sight love story. Claudia Burgoa continues to provide readers with incredible love stories filled with amazing characters. She continues to prove that she is an amazing storyteller. I love all the characters in The Truth About Us, they feel family! The Truth About Us filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, it was impossible to put it down, and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I love how Claudia Burgoa incorporated the title of the book and the picture on the cover into the love story. The Truth About Us is the conclusion of the cliffhanger love story between Ameline “Ame” Lewis, a lawyer and Gabriel “Gabe” Decker, a renown oncologist. The Truth About Us takes place ten years after The Lies About Forever. Gabe’s mother, Pria, asks him to head to the airport to pick up his sister, Lyric, who is arriving on a red eye from New York. Gabe purchased a ticket so that he could meet Lyric at her gate instead of baggage claim. To his surprise Lyric is late getting off her flight only to be accompanied by Ameline. Ameline informs him that she got a message from her sister Isadora that she needs Ameline’s help. The following morning, Isadora’s neighbor calls Ameline notifying her that Isadora was taken to the hospital and that someone needs to pick up her children before someone calls child protective services. Ameline learns that she has a four-year-old niece, Cora, and a three-week-old nephew, Caleb. Once Ameline and Gabe arrive at the hospital they learn that Isadora had a stroke and is currently in a medically induced coma. Ameline and Gabe work together to get guardianship over Cora and Caleb. It is helpful that Ameline and Gabe are still married. I love how Ameline revealed that to Lyric, who then informs the rest of her siblings. I love that Ameline is constantly threatening Gabe with divorce papers, which she has sent to him in the past. It was heartbreaking Cora horded food because of her food insecurities and Caleb was going through withdrawal, but I love what Ameline and Gabe do to help them. I love the text stream between Ameline and Gabe, it is one of my favorite parts of the book. As Ameline and Gabe spend time together things begin to change between them. I love the chemistry between Ameline and Gabe, and the conversations between them flow so easily, with innuendos and playful banter, with Gabe constantly flirting and dirty talking with Ameline. Once Isadora regains consciousness, it is determined that she will enter rehab and Ameline will take care of Cora and Caleb. I love everything that is revealed about what happened between Ameline and Gabe following the cliffhanger ending. Gabe informs Ameline that she died on the operating table and that the baby that Ameline miscarried was a girl, that Ameline named Alisson. Gabe had distanced himself from Ameline following these events because Archer went missing and the issues with Seth. I love that Ameline reconciles with Cedric, her father, Richard, and Gabe’s mother, Pria. Ameline’s meetings with Richard were heartbreaking, I especially love the letter that he left for her. I love all the changes that Ameline and Gabe are willing to make in their lives to have a life with one another. I love the ending of their love story and the surprise that is revealed. My favorite part is the epilogue, I love how it beautifully wraps up their love story. I really enjoy how the book is told in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. The Truth About Us is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments and all those things that I have come to love and expect in Claudia Burgoa love story, and she did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. I love the characters and the family dynamic in The Truth About Us, the characters feel family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between Decker siblings, especially their teasing that made me laugh. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed The Truth About Us, an incredible conclusion to the cliffhanger ending. Highly recommend this incredible love story. Received an advanced copy from the author. The story of Gabriel & Ameline is one of the best by Claudia Y. Burgoa, my current favorite and one that I will be obsessed with for a long time. The Truth About Us broke my heart (a little less than I expected, luckily), it made me angry and even hate some characters (and I don't regret it one bit xD), but most importantly, the continuation of Gabe & Ame's love story made it impossible for me to put the book down until I finished it because I fell more and more in love with these two with each page.

Although at first I was shocked by the beginning of the book, I think Claudia told their story in the best way: I loved the chapters that alternated between past and present,Those were the ones that broke my heart the most. The time jump was the most surprising but I LOVED reading a much mature Gabriel, willing to recognize the many mistakes he made in the past and fight to save his marriage. For her part, Ameline stole my heart even more, and I really d that, despite the fact that she's a much stronger woman, who doesn't let ANYONE walk over her, she continues to be that kind-hearted Ame who is always willing to help those who need it.

I also really enjoyed the plot of this book, I loved that Claudia gave Gabe & Ame the opportunity to heal their hearts and overcome their losses together, that they found unconditional support in each other in difficult moments, and although at times I hated some of the Deckers (but I'm sure I'll love them again in their respective books xD), it made me very happy that the author let us see what really happened between the main characters for things to go so wrong, that the misunderstandings between them could be resolved and that Gabriel showed Ame with actions what she means to him .
