This time around, Jackson has left town for training, and Joey needs to work on the new movie that she has signed on to complete. However, as Joey reads the script, she notices that the death of her character does not ring true. So of course, Joey wants to solve what really happens. Down the rabbit hole she travels. On the trail to find out what happens. What would a Barritt novel be if the heroine is not chased, shot at, and tried to be killed a number of times? Joey is suspicious of the "accidental" death of the singer she is portraying in a movie, and seeks to find answers. As she discovers bits and pieces of Emma Jean's life, someone doesn't want her to reveal the truth or the true motives of those involved in the movie. Who stands to gain from the movie being canceled? Who wants to cover up what really happened the day Emma Jean died? Will her husband Jackson ride to the rescue, yet again? Joey Darling's latest role is to play Emma Jean, a young pop star who tragically died 6 years before. The belief is that on her way to commit suicide she had an accident and drowned instead, but while reading the script there's something about the story that doesn't sit right with her. Digging deeper doesn't seem to be doing her any favours though, and when she senses someone following her, in addition to random attacks linked to the set, Joey starts to wonder if she might have a similar ending to Emma Jean.
This is the latest book in the series. They're easy reads but funny and I always enjoy continuing with the story, I would recommend this series to anyone Ashley1,023 37

Twelve books into this series, and it’s still so good! I love spending time with Joey and reading about her hilarious antics and unconventional crime-solving. She’s such a fun character.

Joey’s latest role has her starring in a biopic about one-hit wonder Emma Jean Gibbons, who tragically died young. The details of her death don’t add up to Joey, so she decides to try to figure out what really happened to the singer.

The mystery kept me guessing. I had a lot of suspicions about what really happened and who the guilty party might be, but could never nail it down.

Ms. Barritt writes witty, clean mysteries and suspense, and I just love her Joey Darling series, Joey seems so real you almost feel as if you lived next door. Blunder? Well, Joey does have a bit of a reputation in that area. Trouble does seem to stick close. I had an ARC for this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Joey Darling is staring in a movie about a singer who died in a supposed accident. Her husband is out of town at a training event. Joey doesn’t feel right about the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death so she starts to ask questions. As usual she gets into hot water. Oh, it's so good to read the return of Joey Darling Sullivan and her escapades! No worries if this is your first glance at the series. There's enough backstory so readers won't be lost, but you will wholeheartedly enjoy the full volumes from the first book. Joey has matured from experience and accountability, now availing the assistance of friends and family.

Joey is back!

And as fabulous and fallible as ever. It’s been a while since I read the series but it wasn’t difficult to get into the storyline again. This series was my introduction to Christy Barritt’s books. My digital library is proof that if you start reading her books you will want to continue.

I keep reading Christie Barritt's books because they are very entertaining and well written

I've read about 130 of her books! I'm worried I'll run out. Her plots, characters and vivid descriptions take me into the lives of flawed but lovable people. A little romance is intertwined into the stories, which adds another layer to these exciting mysteries.

This book. One Hit Blunder, is a terrific book in the series. As always, Joey finds herself in the middle of an “accidental death” and proceeds to investigate the possibility of a murder.
