It has been a while since I read a book from Christopher Nuttall. He is quite high on my list of favorite authors but he also have a list of very long running book series and I guess a certain fatigue has set in as always when a series goes on for (too) long.

This series I have d very much except for the last book which “only” got a three star rating from me.

This book puts the series back on track though.

It is the same good writing as in all of this authors books (even the ones I do not for various other reasons).

Nice characters, a well developed story, good action and plausible science fiction, military tactics and world building in general.

Having said that I still d this series more in the beginning when they were more sticking it to the useless, incompetent and corrupt nations and politicians of Earth.

Now the series have evolved into what is more a regular military science fiction and space opera.

This book appears to start a new story arc in the universe of the series. The Solar Union won the first war against the Tokamaks and the Galactics.

But the Tokamaks where mere pawns in the galactic game of chess and it is time for the second war for survival for the Solar Union.

This book tells the story of how the Solar Union prepares the stage for that, and the first shots are fired.

Unfortunately, despite the premise in the first books, where the humans that broke of from Earth set out to create a nation devoid of big governments and dumbass politicians, these vermin always find a way to infiltrate and ruin things. I really hope that the author contains that crap.

The Belosi fight to reclaim their world

The Belosi have made great strides and want to reclaim their home world before the environmental change is complete. They request the aid of the Solar Union and they want to help but after the recent war they are hard pressed to find the resources. The Solar Union can't afford a war with a second Galactic.

Starts slow, but worth the read

Nutall does it again. He starts this book with a great deal of character development and background, but suddenly you find yourself unable to put the book down as pulse pounding action keeps you on the edge of your seat. Jared McIntyre90 1 follower

excellent addition

It’s been a few years but the Belosi are going home in force. A wonderful addition to the ALE universe. A great read I recommend for a good Saturday morning read. Robert Miller33

Christopher Nuttall is one of the better writers out there.
If you Sci-fi and or fantasy, you will Nuttalls work.
Give him a try on one of his many different series.
