This book will engage you from the beginning?and it was great read from the start. It is fast paced and filled with intrigue, suspense, and romance. The story is about the violent underworld of narcotics traffickers and the threat they pose to the law-abiding citizens. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page.
When I turned to the last page and realized I had hit the end, I immediately thought, what will happen next to protagonist DEA agent Sam Dahl as there must be a sequel. This is the first book I have read by Christopher Amato, and I was not disappointed and cannot wait to read more books by this author. This is the author's first crime thriller and it is totally amazing. The story draws you in from the initial chapter and the twists and turns never stop. Well written, excellent pace, great character development, wonderful editing, and the ending is quite a surprise. What I d the very best is that the adventures of DEA Special Agent Sam Dahl are really believable. A sequel would be rather logical and I truly hope one is written. XOXOXOs to the author, Christopher Amato, for creating this tale.

Knowing it was only his second novel, I was shocked at what a great read it was from the start! Chris is a natural story teller. His writing style is fluid and engaging, drawing the reader into the story. I found myself staying up too late, turning pages because I couldn't go to sleep without knowing what happened next. This was a great read and I highly recommend it. My background is law enforcement, just Chris, so I can tell you this was authentic. But you don't have to be in law enforcement to enjoy this book. Written at the intersection of experience and fiction, Chris grabs you from the start. The story is filled with intrigue, suspense, and even a little romance. I bought it for my beach vacation and could not put it down. Only problem is it only lasted a day and a half. I want more of this and can't wait for the sequel. An interesting story with good character development but be warned, it doesn't conclude in this episode. It wraps up to a degree, but leaves you hanging too. This book was very enjoyable to read - Mr. Amato's character development and pacing of the story line kept me up way past my bedtime reading, and I appreciated how the details were so authentic and true to the historical and geographic setting. I also really d how the long-term relationships were portrayed; that was almost more of a plus for me than the actual mystery!
