A sweet And enduring Love story. I love the way Caldwell Brings back a former character and finally tells this story of Lionel.
This book makes you Feel Love truly is all that is ever needed. This story Remind us how important peace and forgiveness is in our life. This book is a great addition to the heart of a duke series. I am reading this series The Heart of a Duke by Christi Caldwell for the Mad About Series Challenge 2023. This is number 22 in the series. This book is a short novella and a Paranormal Romance. The H is Lionel Meadows,Earl of Feversham, Daisy's older brother, Auric Duke of Crawford and Marcus Gray's best friends. The h is Evie Caldecott eldest sister ( Elyse and Edith , 2 sisters) her parents and brother. Lionel died a young man in University after being robbed, he was stabbed at a gaming hell in a courtesan's room. Evie died when she was 17 after her coming out. She was poisoned by someone.
Ten years after Lionel died he was still in the void wandering the earth until he saw Evie. They were happy to finally see and talk to someone. They were both stuck between earth and heaven and weren't able to move on. They find joy in each other. Lionel helps her find peace with her family and then he is suddenly transported back to the night he died and because he found love with Evie he was able to come to peace about his own demise. He moved on enveloped in the light. She stayed behind and wept and felt the loss deeply. He came back later and told her they were meant for each other and that is why they hadn't passed to the light before. They were both enveloped in light and love and passed to the next life together. The End.

I loved the premise of this book I won’t spoil it by saying more. I didn’t even read the blurb. That’s how much I love this author’s work.

I was so swept up in the story from the first chapter. It was heartbreaking and so lovely and thought provoking. It made me wonder about my
Obed ones who have passed and are they still with me. I felt so sad and then so hopeful for both of these characters. I thought that they were getting their second chance to find love and experience the things they missed before they “moved on”. Maybe even solve the mystery that was introduced, which I did not see coming at all.

I loved this book so much I was sharing it with my husband in the car…..and then it came to a crashing end.

It just ended. Flat out the biggest disappointment I’ve experienced in quite a while. So many things could have been written to make this a fuller and more satisfying story. I feel I am left hanging even though it had a beautiful HEA for them both.

I still love and respect this author’s work. I am currently reading another book in the series. Maybe I wouldn’t be so disappointed if I had read the blurb.

I wish the author would revisit this story and perhaps rework it. I have edited this review twice now trying to do my experience and the book justice. So now I am moving on. Ghazal377 9


Christi Caldwell never fails to amaze me with her versatility. My Heart Forever is an extremely sweet love story of love that transcends life and time. Lord Lionel Meadows, Earl of Feversham and Miss Evie Caldecott meet unexpectedly when Lionel is listening to Evie's sisters play instruments badly, and then kindly asks them to stop torturing him with the screeching noise. Evie hears this and throws stones at him. They talk to each other, feel each other and are amazed that they see each other ... because in actuality, they have moved on from this world and are in the in between world. They died 10 years apart but because they died at a young age, they're perfect for each other in every sense that matters except that they're dead. My Heart Forever is made up of two of my favorite genres, historical and paranormal romance. I have been a fan of Christi Caldwell since the beginning. We first heard of Lionel Meadows and his death in book 4 of the Heart of a Duke series, Loved by a Duke, with Daisy and Auric. In My Heart Forever, Evie Caldecott has died of an unexplained illness and meets Lionel outside of her house. As they learn to navigate the hereafter together and come to terms with their deaths, they realize that they were destined for each other all along. This book is definitely worth the read and gives the reader closure about Lionel. However, Evie's death is a mystery that has me intrigued. I hope Caldwell will revisit the death of Evie in a future book about the Caldecott sisters. CATHERINE BURHANS 677 7

I have to admit that I never read paranormal stories , but since Christi had written this one, I was happy to give it a try. Well, I should have known that anything coming from the pure genius of Christi Caldwell, would be totally mesmerizing! This story is a little heartbreaking and a whole lot of endearing. Two young people who had it all, are ripped away from their lives , all be it ten years apart, and thrown into eternity long before they were ready. They could not find peace or rest until they finally find one another. Then, together they are able to make sense of their passing and find true love with one another. Susan Sieger548 3

Lionel died too young and had some regrets on where he died, that he should of listened to his feeling that something wasn't right. Evie died young also but what she thought she died from no one else caught the illness so her sisters think she may have been poisoned. She and Lionel found each other in the afterlife, he had waited for her and they fell in love and found peace with what happened to them and then they were able to move on to heaven. I highly recommend this book!
