Sinopsis

Their fairy-tale wedding business
Desperately needs a happily-ever-after of its own
Though their love was never in doubt, fertility issues and money problems have left Hollie and Jacob O'Brien's marriage in shambles. So once the spring wedding season at their Tennessee mountain ranch is over, they'll part ways. But the nuptial whirlwind has unexpected effects. Jacob is inspired to romance Hollie with picnics and stolen kisses. And then Hollie's long-buried maternal instincts are revived by four orphaned children visiting the ranch. Will their hope for a future together be resurrected, too?

3.5

After 20 years and many challenges, their marriage is coming to an end. The last stretch that made Hollie ask for divorce is when the biological mother of the boy they adopted took him back.

Together, Hollie and Jacob built a business to help people mend relationships and broken hearts, a ranch where they also cater for weddings. It's supposed to be their last contract together and then they'll go their separate way, but maybe Jacob is not ready to say goodbye and maybe fate can throw another wrench, a good one this time, their own way.

What an emotional ride! I think I wasn't in the best frame of mind to truly appreciate this marriage-in-crisis romance because I found it so sad for most of the book. But these characters were the embodiment of how strong a heart can be and how fierce love can be and it's just too beautiful to not appreciate it.This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.Show full review2 s Aisha383 14

Hollie and Jacob O'Brien are on the brink of divorce. Yet, they will have on their ranch—designed to be ironically focused on mending broken hearts and damaged relationships—two weeks full of weddings and a bunch of foster kids before they go separate paths. A huge challenge given their situation...or this could be a way to face the demons of their past so they could restore their damaged marriage?

Hollie and Jacob have known each other since they were teens. Although they're a great team as business partners, in their twenty years of marriage they had a lot of obstacles: from Cancer diagnosis to losing all the chances they had to have the family they always dreamed of. All those struggles had wrecked their relationship to a point that divorce is their only option; they're tired of fighting against their unfortunate fate. That said, they're suffering their upcoming breakup because they still love each other and their chemistry is stronger than ever. Also, they known each other to the extent that they could read each other through their body language. Lack of love, passion and caring isn't the problem here. Their way to cope their traumatic events is what leads them to their complicated situation.

The secondary characters are perfect in every way posible. Looney, Patsy, Ashlynn, the ranch guests...they're a force to be reckoned and I loved the different situations their scenes bring to the story. Something important to mention here is how the author use one of the foster kid's point of view to show us the way kids deal with the unexpected changes in their lives, but at the same time, this doesn't overload the plot with tragedies. Freddy and his three siblings are so charming you fell in love with them (especially Freddy and his "escaping arts") since the first time they appear on the plot.

Throughout the years I've read enough books from Catherine Mann to say she's one of those Harlequin authors you have to read at least once in your life, but all of them were Desire books. This book, my first of her Special Edition books, was a refreshing change of writing that I enjoyed a lot without losing the original writing formula. A great emotional story with a big heart.1 Harlequin Books17.1k 2,749 Read

Jacob and Hollie have had everything hit them that could - miscarriages, infertility, cancer, adoption that fell through after birth mother changed her mind. In their grief, they've gone apart. But there is a huge two week period coming up at the Top Dog Dude Ranch - many weddings, and a two week vacation for children from a group home. And four kids from the home - siblings, catch both Hollie and Jacob's attention, since the oldest, Freddy, acts up a little. Hollie is still determined to divorce, but Jacob is trying to find a way to keep them together. Good story in the series. Nancy Luebke1,428 58

I enjoyed this last chance romance. I bought this at a local store and I voluntarily chose to review this story. This is not for the under 18 readers although it's fairly light with sexual content. I've given it a 4.5* rating. I thought it dragged a little bit in places but for the most part it moved well. It gives a lot to think about. Anne196 12
