THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS. I REPEAT. THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS. READ UNDER YOUR OWN RISK.

“Because if you do not do great things, then I fear you may do terrible things.”

Going into the story I had zero idea who this was gonna be centered about. I figured it would contain spoilers for QOAAD since it wasn't released before that book came out. Yet, I still wasn't expecting it to be from Livvy's perspective.

I swear, my heart was constricted for the whole time it took me to read it.

I love that we have a little bit more information regarding this whole bond-thing between Ty and Livvy and how it affects them. I seeing the rules that we are gonna be dealing with.

Nonetheless, it broke my heart to see Livvy yearning to be alive and be with her family. the whole moment when she almost possessed Tessa's baby was scary and so, so raw.

“Ty scratched his head. Livvy saw, with a pang, that he had the faintest beginnings of a beard on his face. But he, of course, would continue to grow older. One day he would be a man, but she would always be a child.”

Ty's love for Livvy is heartwarming, his obliviousness about his feelings towards Kit not so much. It's more amusing and a bit sad. Especially because these two idiots both need someone to be there for them, some else, and still do so little for fear.

I also believe that's this was the first story of the bunch that, for one, didn't go in any moment to a shadow market, and for another, that didn't have a Jem POV.

Not we didn't see him. Mina's birth was featured and there we saw Jem and Tessa but, more importantly, we had Magnus.

“Something ought to be easy,” Ty said. “Everything can’t be hard all the time.”

Now, I have an incredible desire to read The Wicked Powers but, alas I'll have to wait.

It's about time I finished with these short stories.

This one is about Livvy and Ty and my heart is already breaking. I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to handle it, to be honest.2019 fantasy novellas13 s Lia Carstairs447 2,676

"I would tell them this. That the future isn't fixed. If we see a path in front of us that we would not choose, then we can choose another path. Another future."

WARNING: SPOILERS FROM THE DARK ARTIFICES

Seeing Ty and Livvy again.............That just reminded me of Lord of Shadows, which I'd to not be reminded of.
