I never expected to a fantasy romance as much as this one. It is an incredibly charming, exciting, and heartwarming story about Morgan and Auban, two dragon shifters thrown together by a spur of destiny. Though their love and affection seem hopeless, they overcome the obstacles on their way to happiness.
Cari Z. opens the door to a magical fantasy world full of wonderful creatures with vivid and vibrant writing. In combination with a witty, profound narrative and eloquent descriptions of the characters, their thoughts, and feelings, the author has created an immersive page-turner. Parallel to Morgan and Auban's developing relationship, runs a story about Brevaer and Garen, along with a fight with humans and other twists and turns, transforming the novel into a captivating, emotional, yet witty and funny read.
What to expect? Excellent and eloquent writing, a compelling and exciting storyline, vibrant and charming characters, bits of tears and lots of amusement, easy to read, page-turner fantasy romance, perfect for reading on gloomy, stressful days when you crave something uplifting and cheerful.
What not to expect: dark suspenseful drama, a lot of angst, complex and flawed characters, and serious issues.

When I first started this book I had a difficult time getting into it. The style in which it's written gave off historical tones, and I don't typically favor that type of style. However! As I kept reading I was able to fully dive into the story completely and ended up quite enjoying it!

I found the Agnarra people to be quite fascinating, I don't think I've read a book with characters such as the ones as in this story before! I d that they had a sea dragon form and a human one, and that they could change what form they wanted to be in by choice. I adored Morgan's character, and I definitely can relate to his aversion to exercise. His comments on the subject were full of humor, and made me smile. His and Garen's friendship was so beautiful, and full of love and care. I really enjoyed the dynamic these two had together. And while Morgan's relationship with Brevaer was strained, there was still love and care between these two men.

Now Auban's character is a bit of a mystery due to the fact of him losing his memory. I kept thinking that as the book went on his memory would gradually come back to him. While he did vaguely remember some things, he never fully got his memory back. His character stayed as mysterious as he was when Morgan first met him. The plot twist with Auban's character was such a surprise!! I did not see that coming, and I loved it! It made the plot SO much more intriguing cause it added another depth to it.

All in all, a really great story, with a new take on mates, and full of happy ever afters. Keturah Sergeant33

A beautiful short romance, with dragons, village politics, amnesia, war, love and a dash of spice. This was a well written story, with an intriguing background, good balance of action and romance, and seemingly impossible love. I d the characters, they were realistic and varied, except perhaps the mad chief who snapped out of it at the sound of cannons? Still, over all, well thought out and executed.

I really enjoyed the world built here, with sea dragons having had to flee their home due to human attacks, a mad chieftan kept out of respect for his wife, a creative people stifled and forced into practicality. The humans' new attacks on them weren't ever explained, but it created an excitement and tension throughout the book which allowed for the plot to build. With training and bonding and fighting and worrying on one side and caring, curing and budding love on the other.

I d that the MC was an artist, with a kind heart, and his brother was a warrior, with a heart that needed opening. I loved his best friend, a warrior, pining for his fellow, carrying the weight of a mad father and an angry mother, yet he was still kind and thoughtful. The lover was harder to properly gauge, we didn't get much of his context due to his amnesia, we didn't even know his species until the end, but he was strong and willing to teach what he remembered, wanting to help MC, even while weary of his reception.

This was an enjoyable short story, with action, friendship, romance and an interesting world. I recommend! kymagirl3,584 52

Excellent! A clan of seadragons live on an isolated island after being murdered and driven from their homes by humans. They are hiding out daily preparing for a new invasion if their location is discovered. They face many challenges with a depleted clan, an absent leader an Morgan an artistic being who had no instinctive fight in him. He lives to avoid fighting, stay under his brother's the tempory chief adn save Auban a human who washed ashore nearly dead from an aborted attack against them. Auban, has amnesia and can't remember before he woke up. Morgan tends to him and helps him recover. When they are discovered, all that they knew and thought they knew are challenged. There are several intriguing characters, a backstory that we want more of, questions and some answers. Great cast of characters, pending wary conflict and Auban who is a mysery himself. Morgan is a sea dragon shifter living among his people who are wary of humans because of some negative things that happened in the past. When Morgan finds and decides to take care of Auban when he survives a shipwreck he finds himself drawn to a human and questioning the old assumptions. What he has been taught to believe comes into conflict with what he is feeling as he and Auban become closer. This leads to him having to figure out who and what to choose. This was a good well written, somewhat angsty story that had me wondering how it would resolve to the end.

I wasn't a big fan of the way the story was formatted, but the story was charming. Garen was very charming too. I wished there were more romantic build up between Morgan and Auban. I felt the pacing was a little slow, but it was an overall enjoyable read.

Cari has such a great vivid imagination and I always love the magical fantasy world's she creates. Another excellent fantasy romance with amazing characters that was so heart-warming and sweet. Morgan and Auban had so many obstacles to overcome and I thoroughly enjoyed their journey to their happy ending.

It’s a nice shifter romance with thrills and the perfect amount of romantic lovey-dovey. I that Garen finally makes a stand for what he wants. Also, the friends around them are really entertaining, and the romance was just right. DLB25722,317 21

Morgan & Auban

This started off a bit slow for me and I wasn't sure I would it. I'm glad that I kept going because this was a very interesting and entertaining story. I appreciated the twist with Auban also.
